  i think i found a church

  i really enjoyed church today, i have been visting serevel in the last few weeks, all the ones i have been to have been okay, but no more, but today i felt comfortable with everything i seen.

  it seemed very doctrinally sound, christ centered and the big bonus i did not hear a word about money!

  they did not pass a plate(i dont know if they do but today there was none).

  1 Timothy 5:17-18 (New International Version)

  "The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages."

  Galatians 6:6 (New International Version)

  Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.

  Luke 10:7 (New International Version)

  Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

  1 Corinthians 9:4-14 (New International Version)

  "Don't we have the right to food and drink? Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas? Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living?

  Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? Do I say this merely from a human point of view?   Good for you USRs ! Glad to hear it.

  I was a 3rd gen JW on my Dad's side and a 4th gen JW on my Moms side. I've been attending church regularly for 9 years and my wife and children are thriving in a Christ centered environment.

  Rejecting the organizational idolatry of my ancestors and accepting Jesus ALONE as savior was the best decision I ever made.

  I recall Daniel having a rather close association with political leaders as did Joseph. Both were blessed by God in their jobs. Cornelius was a Roman army officer when he got baptized as a Christian believer. He continued to do his job.

  At this time, God allows for and approves of the existence of human government. The GB is indeed "running ahead" of the Lord.

  For he is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath on him that does evil. - Rom. 13:4

  This is typcial of dissenters. They tend to fragment.

  Christians are unified in their one to one relationship with Jesus. Many Catholics have more than one mediator (Mary as"Mediatrix" as well as their organization "without which no one can be saved"), Mormons have their priesthood, JW's have their governing body... and others venerate their own works or their church as having co-redemptive characteristics. All such idolatry is rejected by God.

  Jesus is clear that the terms of the new covenant require "one mediator" ONLY.

  Christians have Christ alone as mediator and savior. They always have, and always will.

  Fragmentation is a result of ...... well fragmentation :-)

  Noah's Ark and I'm a dumbass

  walking down memory lane today and recalled a convo with my ex about noah's ark.

  (i made all the rookie mistakes when talking to my ex about jw stuff -sigh.

  ) i think i said something like 'if you believe in noah's ark take the cat and a mouse from the backyard for a drive around the block and let me know how it goes.

  Geological Evidences for a Flood

  We all have basically the same information available to us. Uniformitarianism, the geologic columnn, macro evolution, something from nothing and the whole naturalism paradigmn in general doesn't add up and is NOT science, since it cannot be tested by the scientific method. It is opinion.

  Given man's propensity for self-deception, which can be proven scientifically, at a minimum it is certainly not something to blindly accept as truth. I believe the naturalism paradigmn to simply be a short-term psychological device that will go the way of the dinosaur shortly.

  since the early 1800's in america a number of new religions have appeared.. the church of jesus christ of latter day saints (mormons), christian science, jehovah's witnesses, scientology, etc.. there are elements in common.. some individual makes unprovable claims, untestable assertions and crafts unusual doctrines which dovetail in some ways with established beliefs while.

  simultaneously and radically replacing them.. mormons produce a better and purer revelation in their book of mormon.. scientologists piggy-back off of psychiatry and gnosticism while inventing a new technology which eliminates infestations by alien beings trapped inside humans.. jehovah's witnesses claim leadership by a governing body as a sole channel of communicating escape plans from the imminent war of god on humans.. and so forth.... .

  practioners of these religions must sooner or later grapple with disproofs which include discoveries made public of lies, misrepresentations and duplicity.. yet, the majority of adherents selectively dismiss such revelations as a test of their own faith and an opportunity to demonstrate solidarity.. a close examination of this self-reinforced refusal to confront disputatious rebuttal of doctrine i choose to call stupidology.. .

  Great article Perry, but since it is looking at the premise from an evolutionary standpoint you either - never read it,

  undertsood it or in fact disagree with it.

  Well, even a broken clock is right twice a day

  To his credit, the evolutionist biologist author does admit the following though:

  "I have certainly enjoyed only very limited success in curbing my own self-deception."

  Why limit man's vulnerability to deception to "people of faith"? There are plenty of examples of scientific deception to choose from as well wouldn't you agree?

  following the great trubulation and time of trouble, when the world's forces turn on true religion (jws), god will step in an kill everone (apart from his true followers).. .

  i've been talking to a jw recently who seems to be suggesting that the casualties will be due to human warfare in the great tribulation so will be man's fault - not jehovah's.
