Why Does The Watchtower Dis-fellowshiping For Smoking and Not Gluttony and Alcoholism?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inhealth care studies are showing obese body weight index is worse than smoking "death sticks", so how is the tower going to address their growing problem of overweight elders and elderettes?
if a organization is able to disfellowship a member for smoking, why not do the same with other vices and crutches their people use to hide stress, emotional disorders and depression?
employers are asking for a bmi test a their potential employees to create a diet to get healthy.

The Wt operates like an optical illusion. They stack up all sorts of non-biblical so-called logic to create an excuse for their changing doctrines.
The lines are indeed straight.

Good vs Evil
by DeWandelaar ini was wondering lately... what i do not really understand:.
if there was only perfectness and goodness in the beginning of the world, why was there even knowledge about good and evil in the heavens?.
genesis 3:5 says: .

Dewandelaar,
I agree. The implication in Genesis clearly indicates a prior rebellion against God (Good)

Because it tarnishes the "clean" image the WT marketers wish to project. The idea is join our group and be clean. However, God says that faith in Christ's blood, in substitute for our own shed blood, makes you clean:
These are they which ...have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.... Therefore are they before the throne of God... and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.... They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more... For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

THE REAL REASON WHY THE WATCHTOWER NEVER WRITES ABOUT ISLAM OR MUSLIMS IS FEAR!
by ÁrbolesdeArabia infor a religion that claims to be "fearless and bold" the watchtower has avoided writing about islam and muslim practices and how they are part of babylon the great.
the attacks on christendom are not a bold move because the "tower" and "gb" know the christian church is not going to send a suicide bomber into a kingdom or district convention.
it's not fair to christendom to receive all the hate speech from the "leaning tower of brooklyn", why don't they write the truth about islam?

( do they attack Buddists or Hindus in the same way as Christendom , because those religions aren't likely to send bombers ) . NO, maybe they attack Christendom because the real leaders of the Watchtower know that that is the true way to salvation .
Jhine, I basically agree with your premise. I would point out that Christendom is not a "way" to Salvation any more than the WT is. Jesus said, " I am "The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No man cometh unto the father but by Me".
This is the core truth being concealed when they attack the Catholic Church, who itself does not officially teach faith in Christ alone for salvation. The WT is sort of a halfway house for people disenfranchised from the CC. Here, they learn disdain for all so-called Christians, irregardless if they exercise faith in Christ alone or not. The path to salvation is hidden in the confusion.
IMO, the Watchtower printing empire exists for the purpose of counterfeiting the way of salvation - FAITH IN CHRIST ALONE. (one mediator), and if not successful in the counterfeit, to at least condition one-time adherents in the belief that single-object-faith without belonging to a group ... is pointless.

These scriptures seem to settle this issue for me:
1 Timothy 5:17-18 (New International Version)
"The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages."
Galatians 6:6 (New International Version)
Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.
Luke 10:7 (New International Version)
Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
1 Corinthians 9:4-14 (New International Version)
"Don't we have the right to food and drink? Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas? Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living?
Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? 9For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain."Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn't he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more?
But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. Don't you know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel."

Good for you USRs ! Glad to hear it.
I was a 3rd gen JW on my Dad's side and a 4th gen JW on my Moms side. I've been attending church regularly for 9 years and my wife and children are thriving in a Christ centered environment.
Rejecting the organizational idolatry of my ancestors and accepting Jesus ALONE as savior was the best decision I ever made.

Christendom's close association? What about?
by Atlantis inthe note in the picture says:.
"christendom's close association with political leaders will soon come to an end.
" christendom's close association?

I recall Daniel having a rather close association with political leaders as did Joseph. Both were blessed by God in their jobs. Cornelius was a Roman army officer when he got baptized as a Christian believer. He continued to do his job.
At this time, God allows for and approves of the existence of human government. The GB is indeed "running ahead" of the Lord.
For he is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath on him that does evil. - Rom. 13:4

This is typcial of dissenters. They tend to fragment.
Christians are unified in their one to one relationship with Jesus. Many Catholics have more than one mediator (Mary as"Mediatrix" as well as their organization "without which no one can be saved"), Mormons have their priesthood, JW's have their governing body... and others venerate their own works or their church as having co-redemptive characteristics. All such idolatry is rejected by God.
Jesus is clear that the terms of the new covenant require "one mediator" ONLY.
Christians have Christ alone as mediator and savior. They always have, and always will.
Fragmentation is a result of ...... well fragmentation :-)
