When I got baptized, they "forgot" to tell me that Jesus was not my mediator. Just a small little omission. Then, when I finally got right with God through the blood of the New Covenant, I got shunned for figuring it out.
The more they push this stuff, the more the public figures out what their game is.

Christianity claims to bridge the gap between "natural" death and life and proved it in the resurrection of Jesus. God is a God of the living, not the dead.

There has never been a historical society observed that did not have some kind of religion. It is natural for man to seek guidance from a higher power.
A much more accurate statement might be something like:

Biblical Christianity is about relationship OVER religion. AS JW's we were prevented from having a relationship with the risen Savior. Lots of so-called Christian religions socialize their members (knowingly and not) to varying degrees to have a relationship with their religion and not Jesus.
Some "Christians" sort of get the idea that Jesus did his thing and now its time for the religion to take over. Biblical Christians have a day to day relitionship with the living diety - the resurrected Jesus Christ. He is very much alive and in total control of everything, expecially life. He presides over a decaying and dying world, aliented from a righteous and Holy God.
No person in relationship with Christ is committing genocide. That's absurd. Jesus is about loving your enemies to the extent possible.
i was raised as a jw, most of my family is still in, i regular pioneered for 5 years, elder for even longer.
preached for over 40 years that the 1914 generation will see the end, etc, etc... believed every single word, and preached it with total conviction.. i have not been active for approx 7 years, completely faded now, mainly because i couldn't believe a loving god would destroy me, after coming to terms with and admiting i was preaching a lie.. i'm extremely happy i'm out, although still hitched to it somehow by my past, i guess like many of us on here.. i do have a question for all jws.. how can "god, who cannot lie" a god which is love, justify destroying the world, including all of us that left, and saving only the jws, when for decades one of the main teachings of the jws has proved to be a lie?
a teaching no one wants to discuss anymore, which got covered up by a new light, which most can't even explain.
People are different, and if we are the children of God, I believe He would do everything He could for us.
That's the problem, we are not God's children at birth. We are children of Adam. As such, God has no obligation whatsoever to us. Yet, while we were yet enemies and sinners, Christ died for us. For those who do not put trust in Jesus ALONE, their sin (and judgement that determines salvation) remains.

Real judgement comes after you die according to the bible:

the watchtower feeds true believers.. the watchtower feeds true believers spiritual "food".. the watchtower feeds true believers spiritual "food" at the proper time.. .
the members of jehovah's witnesses who receive this "food at the proper time" receive it from their governing body who have digested.
the importance and timeliness of it and passed it along.. .

Still, it is instructive to know what those close to Jesus thought of him. Those of us that that wished to follow Jesus as Jehovah's Witnesses were prevented from doing so in the way that his close associates did through the evil deceptions of the Watchtower.
If you do not wish to follow Jesus, I respect that. I think Jesus would respect that decision as well. For me, John's connection that he makes draws me closer to the New Testament ideal that Jehovah himself suffered as my savior in the person of his only begotten - Jesus

while everyone has been bickering back and forth, i decided to do something positive to move forward.
as most of you know back in jan our family marked us as apostates and started shunning us.. so i wrote to all of my congress-people and told them what is going on with the jw's.
i told them how they are breaking up families, teaching the children intolerance, etc.
Good Job Newly Enlightened. We live in a representative democracy and the Ex-JW community is a part of those being represented. I praise you for your initiative.

I still can't get over how I never saw the deception in having a "bible" study from a book that was not the bible. It never occurred to me that a bible study should use the bible as the sole textbook.
