How can any free will exist if suffering and death are the consequences of exercising it.
Some people do choose life with God in a subordinate / forgiven role and others choose the illusion of freedom apart from God. Free will is not hampered at all by the consequences of choice.
Our prisons which are bursting at the seams, proves the faultiness of your reasoning.
Again, God and freewill and the deferred adjudicaion sacrificial pardon is not the problem here. The problem here is the concept of sin, and the authority that God has in determining right and wrong. That is what causes so many to have heart burn.

Is any death not horrible? I mean we all die. I find that pretty horrible. I'm sure most of us here, when that day approaches will find it horrible.
Lots of people have died so that others could live. Why do those raging here consider them heros, but God who did the same thing is somehow evil? I suggest that what most have a problem with here is the concept of sin, rather than a loving God who takes the punishment for their sin so that death is abolished.

Judge Rutherford did not know he was under the New Covenant in... 1929
by objectivetruth inthe new covenant is the single most important, claim to fame that jehovah's witnesses (the governing body) have.
in the 2014 watchtower 10/15 "you will become a kingdom of priests" the watchtower says the following :.
"by means of the new covenant, both jews and uncircumcised gentiles would have an equal opportunity to be heirs of gods kingdom, because their circumcision is that of the heart by spirit and not by a written code.

There may be other covenants spoken of in the bible, but the only one that totally secures freedom from condemnation is THE New Covenant.
People who are forgiven, are said to be born again.
Rom. 8:9 says that "if anyone have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
John 14:17, "for he dwells with you, and shall be in you." - speakng of the essence of God personified as the Holy Spirit
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. - 1 John 5: 12
There is only one access to Jesus and to "life" ...and that is the blood covenant, aka the new covenant.
The path and hope for humans isn't found in some creed, ideology or belief system, ultimate truth isn't revealed in a stand-alone context, and life cannot be attained by any means aside from the new covenant. " In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins" - Eph 1: 7
Thomas once inquired as much when he asked: 'how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.'

With the Above Facts and Watchtower Quotes in Mind, Consider some statements made by J.F. Rutheford in the Year 1929.
"it is "with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah", that is to say, with those who are Jews because of being natural descendants of Israel and Judah, and who have faith in the promises which God made to the effect that through the house of Judah should the great Deliverer come; these are the ones with whom God will make the covenant. (Life Page 187 Published by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society)" - End Quote
Very Interesting. So, Let me get this straight. In 1929 to be a Jehovah's Witness (aka bible student) you were "encouraged" to reject the New Covenant "for the forgivenes of sins" and disobey Jesus command here:
Drink out of it, all of you, for this means my ‘blood of the covenant,’ which is to be poured out in behalf of many for forgiveness of sins - Mt. 26:27
And, the reason given was that the New Covenant was only for the natural descendants of Israel. So, this is how they created the "great crowd" of non-partakers. I always wondered about how they socialized that into the organization before it was a formal doctrine. Fascinating.
And then later, when the anonymous Watchtower writers said that the New Covenant was limited to only 144,000, you still could not get your sins forgiven through the New Covenant because all the positions had already been filled!
Amazing. So for the average JW, there really was NEVER a time that a person could get their sins forgiven through the contractural blood payment that is offered to "whosoever" in the New Covenant gospel..... at least since the time of Rutherford.
Thanks for pointing this out.

It is dissapointing to come back after all this time and see you still can't even define evolution Perry. Shame buddy.
This is a perfect example of the kinds of things that fascinate a sociologist. The experience of "disappointment" in others unlike yourself and inflicting "shame". This is antisocial behavior, it is narcissitic, and dysfunctional.
BTW, hope your new medical practice is off to a good start

Do you not realise how flawed that line of thought is? - LP97
There are no flaws in preferences. This is just what I prefer, neither being right or wrong. I did my college work in sociology. Though I am a businessman now, I am still interested in how people react leaving varied social constructs. There is no "flaw" in observation..... to the contrary, a great deal can be learned.
Having experienced a drastic paradigm shift myself when I left the Watchtower and eventually believed God; I am interested in others who have experienced similar paradigm shifts in their beliefs. This is why this is posted under the "beliefs" section.
For the sociologist (in me), he is more interested in the lives of those that experience such a shift, rather than the lack of proofs that would cause these scientists to abandon the standard "party line" theory of evolution.
I hope that helps to clarify where I'm coming from.

Personally, I enjoy reading about recovering evolutionists far more than debating: I found these:
Emeritus Professor Tyndale John Rendle-Short - From (theistic) evolution to creation
For Prof himself, educated at Cambridge and brought up with his father's writings, theistic evolution (or its variant, progressive creationism) was the natural direction for him to take. His odyssey to being chairman of one of the most effective creation science outreach ministries in the world was overseen by the Lord's hand in countless ways, both large and small.
Charlie Lieberts - (Chemist)
Charlie Liebert’s idea of a good time back in New Jersey was to drink beer with a bunch of buddies and mock Billy Graham on television. A self-described “atheistic evolutionist,” Liebert would ridicule the fact that he and his friends were “sinners.”
Dr. Gary Parker (Biologist)
"I was very consciously trying to get students to bend their religious beliefs to evolution."
"Evolution was really my religion, a faith commitment and a complete world-and-life view that organized everything else for me, and I got quite emotional when evolution was challenged." Dr. Gary Parker's testimony as to how he went from teaching evolution at the college level to being a leading spokesman for Biblical creationism. - See the full story at From Evolution to Creation: A Personal Testimony
Dr. D. Russell Humphreys (Physicist)
While neither of the two links we have for Dr. Humphreys states that he was a former evolutionists and atheist, we know this to be true from a 1999 debate he participated in at Harvard University in which he stated these things. See this interview with Dr. Humphreys at: Creation in the Physics Lab.
Dr. Alan Galbraith (Watershed Science)
"I attended a creation seminar arranged by my pastor. I had only been a Christian for some four years or so, and was still a convinced evolutionist. I have to admit that I went with the attitude — what can this pastor, whose last science course was probably in junior high school, tell me about the area I know so much about?" See Recovery from evolution (Alan Galbraith interview)
According to modern evolutionary theory, our planet originated from the accumulation of hot, gaseous material ejected from the sun, and the Precambrian granites were among the first rocks to form during the cooling process. University science courses convinced me that the evolution of the earth was just a part of the cosmic evolution of the universe. As a result I became a theistic evolutionist. Years later I began to re-examine the scientific basis for that decision. My thoughts turned to the age of the earth and the Precambrian granites. Were they really billions of years old? See Dr. Gentry's Book Overview . See his web site at Earth Science Associates .
Tulane University
Dr. Richard Lumsden (1938-1997) was a professor of parasitology and cell biology at Tulane University in Louisiana where he also served as the dean of the graduate school of biological sciences. During his illustrious career, Lumsden published about 90 peer-reviewed papers and was awarded the Henry Baldwin Ward medal (the highest world-recognized award for parasitology ). He also received over 21 research grants and contracts from many well-known organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
In the YouTube video below, Lumsden (a self-proclaimed evolutionist and Christian ridiculer) relates that after giving a lecture at Tulane University on the theory of evolution, one of his best students began asking him questions about evolution which he later realized had caused him to doubt his long-held evolutionary worldview . The doubts set Lumsden out on a search for truth. In his video testimony, Lumsden tells how he came to believe in a Creator and eventually walked up the isle of a church to accept Jesus Christ as his savior.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s91-ABJ49ho#t=382
In his testimony, Dr. Lumsden says he was a staunch Darwinian evolutionist who took great pleasure in ridiculing Christian beliefs during his university classroom lectures. After the Louisiana legislature passed a law requiring pre-college teachers to give creation equal time with evolution in the classroom, Lumsden became so outraged that he prepared and delivered a lecture at Tulane University in support of Darwinian evolution. After the lecture, one of Dr. Lumsden’s top students asked to meet with him so she could “get some of her facts straight.” During the meeting, without being judgmental or argumentative, the student (who was a Christian) began asking Dr. Lumsden a series of questions about evolution. Three hours later when the student thanked him and walked out of his office, Lumsden realized the student’s questions had left him with a lot of doubt in his mind about the theory of evolution, a theory he had wholeheartedly embraced for many years.

HOUSTON – A prominent chemist who was recognized this year as one of the 50 most influential scientists in the world says most scientists do not understand how evolution could explain the existence of life.
Dr. James Tour is a well-known professor at Rice University, specializing in chemistry, nanoengineering, and computer science. Over the last 30 years, Tour has authored over 500 research publications, and he was recognized as one of “The 50 Most Influential Scientists in the World Today” by TheBestSchools.org. Tour has also received awards and recognitions from the American Chemical Society, Thomson Reuters, Honda, NASA, and others.
In a video released in late 2012, Tour explained that he has had extensive experience studying the origin of life.
“I will tell you as a scientist and a synthetic chemist,” Tour said, “if anybody should be able to understand evolution, it is me, because I make molecules for a living, and I don’t just buy a kit, and mix this and mix this, and get that. I mean, ab initio, I make molecules. I understand how hard it is to make molecules.”
Despite his experiences and expertise, Tour admits that he does not understand how evolution could account for life’s existence. Article
