  Revised NWT...cross references...Has anyone noticed....?

  just let me say, i hate the gray bible.

  when i read the revision of mal 3:10 and they included tithing, i almost vomited.

  recently though, my invalid mother asked me to read to her and the only thing available was the gray bible.

  In the 1984 edition, it has the "soul" of the widow's child coming back into him when he was resurrected by Elijah in 1 Kings 17: 21-22.

  In the 2013 edition of the NWT, it says his "life" came back into him.

  The Hebrew word here is "nephesh" or "soul" in English.
  

  Somebody at WT home office did not like this childs' soul coming back into his body when he was resurrected. So, they just changed it.

  But we all have a soul that is eternal, which was made in the image of our eternal creator. The Watchtower doesn't like this fact either because it begs the question of WHERE that soul will spend eternity.

  Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

  having now been out of the cult for a few years, it really shocks me about some of the nonsense i used to believe in.

  like for instance, christ ruling in the midst of his enemies, but doing so invisibly.. let's let that one sink in for a minute.

  you've supposedly got a king who is ruling for a kingdom, but it is an invisible rule.

  It is apparently these non-christian sheep who will be alive on earth after Armageddon when the devil is abyssed - not christians. This will explain why there are still people on earth to be misled by Satan after the thousand years. Christians have "one hope" - the heavenly one. (Ephesians 4:4) Ignorant non christians who are righteously disposed and treat christians favorably, have the prospect of surviving Armageddon.

  The basic scenario accepted by many, if not most Christians is that the rapture will come at Jesus appearing, where he meets the church (new covenant believers) "in the air". (not the 2nd coming, but getting close). This ends the "church age". Immediately after this, the rise of the anti-christ is seen with a number of wars and global destructions ensuing with the nation of Israel at the center of the controversies.

  Armageddon is simply the final conflict that is used to defeat the Antichrist and the nations that support him as they gather to defeat the tiny nation of Israel for good.. At that time, Jesus is left as the sole world leader when they learn that Israel is a stone that cannot be moved.... "a stumbling block for all nations".

  After the conflict, about a 1/3 of the earth's current population will still be left over from the wars of the Anti-Christ. Of these, those that were kind to the nation of Israel, "Christ's Brothers", will be allowed entry into Christ's Millennium reign. Those nations and peoples caught up in the irrational hatred of Israel and who worked for its demise, are not allowed to enter.

  Note: Both groups are surprised that their fate is decided on how they treated Israel.

  Remember, God still has a plan for Israel after the Church age is consummated. Romans 11:

  I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew.......
  

  For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved,

  My Mother Died Two Weeks Ago

  I can't express how much everyone's well wishes mean to me. Thank You.

  Now I have to break it to my kids when they get home from school.

  We called my mom and dad about three months ago while we were driving. Dad declined to speak to me but mom did. Wife and kids were in the car and the call was on speaker. The last words we all heard my mom say was I love you.

  They cannot take that away.

  An old friend sent me a text while on my way to work this morning and told me. His dad was an elder and book-study conductor at our home when we were kids. He never got baptized and is thankful for it.

  I immediately called my Dad. I asked him how he was doing. He said, "fine". Loooooong Pauuuuuuse.

  I then asked, "how is Mom"?

  He told me a few details in a very kind tone. Then he said he had to go because he was leading the group out this morning in field service. He did say that he was planning on sending me the memorial card to me in a few days.

  That was it. My father has been a MS for decades. One older brother is an elder. One other older brother was a long-time elder but was deleted several years ago. All are very active.

  EXACTLY Why JW's Are NOT Christian

  is it possible to "try and follow jesus" and not be christian?

  My point is you cannot say JWs are not Christian on the basis that they have a different interpretation of the New Covenant than you.

  You are deliberately mischaracterizing the facts. I have already stated that what I personally think is of nor more consequence than what you or anyone else has to say except....Jesus. It is his words alone that determine if a person is a follower (Christian) or not. And, three times he stated to Nicodemus that a person must be "born again" . That is a fact. You cannot change that fact. It is not open to interpretation no matter how many times you say that it is.

  Furthermore, the Watchtower states that only the 144K are "born again". That is also a fact that is not open to interpretation as you claim.

  The New Covenant is simply the legal instrument that God uses to give a sinner who deserves death, a new spirit that cannot sin when he is "born again".

  It has nothing to do with trying to follow Jesus as much or more than anyone else. You just don't personally see value in Jesus. And your personal values is what this is all about.

  
  

  There is no benefit in people making ignorant claims that JWs are not Christian. It helps no one.

  Thousands of people who were previously deceived into rejecting Jesus at each Memorial and now enjoy religious freedom will beg to differ.

According to a 2009 meta-analysis of these surveys, about 2 percent of scientists admitted to having fabricated, falsified, or modified data or results at least once, and as many as a third confessed “a variety of other questionable research practices including ‘dropping data points based on a gut feeling,’ and ‘changing the design, methodology or results of a study in response to pressures from a funding source’ ” [4].
  As for why these practices are so prevalent, many scientists blame increased competition for academic jobs and research funding, combined with a “publish or perish” culture.

  Claiming that Jesus is Mediator for only the 144K in Revelation was an unknown "gospel" to the apostles; therefore according to the bible they are an accursed people.
