  Hi waton. I have no connection to the film. It popped up on my twitter account and it looked interesting.

  I think that a lot of uninformed people are under the impression that virtually all scientists agree that evolution alone can account for our observations. An "an incontrovertible scientific fact" as Cofty states above. Some fake news has also reported this. But, I don't think the evidence supports this view. From that same website:

  Those who have gone out of their way to declare their doubt about Darwin include the:
  - 100 Ph.D.s listed at Australia's creation.com
  - 200 scientists with master's degrees or Ph.D.s listed over at AiG
  - 300 medical doctors at Physicians & Surgeons for Scientific Integrity
  - 500 Ph.D. scientists at the Korean Association of Creation Research
  - 600 advanced degreed scientist at the Creation Research Society
  - 900 scientists who signified their opposition at DissentFromDarwin.org
  - 3,000 scientists and professors, nearly, (most of whom hold a Ph.D. in some field of science) who reject secular Darwinism to varying degrees as named online by Dr. Jerry Bergman

  - 100,000 college professors in the U.S. alone who, according to Harvard researchers, agree that "intelligent design IS a serious scientific alternative to the Darwinian theory of evolution."
  - 570,000 medical doctors in the U.S., specialists in applied science, say God brought about or directly created humans. Whereas Darwinism is dominated by storytelling, the field of medicine is an actual applied science (see definition and applied science section below) within biology that is practiced by highly educated professionals. Thus it is significant that 60% of all U.S. medical doctors reject the strictly secular Darwinist explanation for our existence, with three of five docs agreeing that either God initiated and guided the process that led to human life or that God specially created human beings as we are.

  
  * Honorable Mention:
  - 2.5 Million U.S. scientists and engineers believe in a personal God. This number comes from the 40% who believe in a personal God as reported by the New York Times in 1997 (see below). That percentage had stayed constant over the 80 years since the survey was first carried out in 1917. If that result has stayed consistent again over the past 20 years, then based on our 2016 population of more than 6.2 million scientists and engineers, two and a half million of them believe in God!

  Yes, Genesis, 1-49 is history. period.
  not to be taken seriously, proven wrong by research, evidence.

  For me, the Genesis account is critical to Christianity. I could not in good conscience call myself a Christian if I did not believe Genesis was true. Jesus affirmed many of the Genesis accounts by quoting and referring to them. If not true, this would make him a liar, a deceiver, and a con artist. His claims of divinity would also be destroyed.

  There are libraries of discoveries that flat out contradict materialistic theories of origins but are consistent with a Genesis narrative. In an era where populations are starting to wake up to the realities of "Fake News" a fresh look at the evidence should be high on the to do list.

  This is the area I started looking into around 10-12 years ago.

  As fascinated as I am about the evidence for Creation as opposed to materialistic theories, I don't live my life in the dust bins and bone yards of history. We all live with real live breathing people. How people react to information is far more fascinating to me than the evidence itself most of the time.

  The eminent, evolutionary anthropologist David Pilbeam once stated, "Paleoanthropology reveals more about how humans view themselves than it does how humans came about."

  How much money people usually donate to WT ?

  i grew up in the org and never got baptised, however i was wondering recently about how much money my family and old friends are wasting in all that.

  .

  i remember of course never talking in amounts, that it was important to give from what you can not what you have etc but i admit i have no clue how much the average witness gives (say in % of their income).. i'm sure it varies greatly, i'd love to hear what you guys have to say..

  Now I donate around around twenty times that amount as a Christian and never seem to miss it.

  a new commadment to the posting guidelines.

  we must love one another.. if i read the posting guidelines and saw the lurking presence of that new commadment " we must love one another" i would feel very uneasy about registering.

  it sounds more like a threat than an expression of love.

  Excellent points Rebel. When we believe that most folks are just trying to establish peace, success & happiness in their lives, it goes a long way in overlooking expressions that we disagree with, and not take them personal.

  Views that seem misdirected to us, suddenly become perfectly understandable when, we realize that the real goals are pretty much the same as our own; even if the paths are totally different.

  I don't think principled love can find a foothold without this understanding.

  in this first installment i will be tackling the common fallacious analogy used by them to equate eating blood with receiving a transfusion.

  feel free to share your own refutations on each thread.. "if a doctor tells you to abstain from alcohol you wouldn't go injecting it into your veins, would you?".

  According to the bible's explanation, the present features we observe in animals that are used for hunting, and defense were not originally used for that purpose. Alternatively, God could have brought in some features we observe as a result of the Fall and the curse upon creation.

  Either way, assuming that current observations were in the original design is precluded from a biblical perspective.

  It was obvious to me even as a kid, that people were looking for any reason to continue with the magical thinking

  And proponents of ID accuse their opponents of the same magical thinking when they ignore the odds involved in materialism & the something from nothing cosmology in that view.

  Watchtower No.3 2017 - The Four Horesmen

  this is the first time i've read through a watchtower magazine in about a year.

  although i've been our only 8 months it really git me how crazy i must have sounded when i was a jw talking to non jws.. while other bible based religions talk about the 4 horsemen and back up their theories with other scriptures or historical evidence, the watchtower have taken so such steps.

  1914 is thrown in there as if it's universally agreed that jesus started ruling since then.. even when i was a jw i never really understood why, if the pale horse represents jesus, why is he first?

  One of the first things I became aware of after leaving was how most theologians claim that the Antichrist rides the White Horse, which is the exact opposite of what the Watchtower says.

  Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard fone of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.

  Plainly, Jesus is the one opening the seals, not one of the riders. Furthermore, Jesus has no need to conquer. He defeated death and hell at Calgary and declared "It is finished".

  Apparently, while the anti-christ is running around "conquoring"; the Watchtower will once again be following the wrong course..
