They changed Hebrews 1: 8 too and the Psalms that it was quoting!
----------------------------KJV-------------------------- NASB--------------------NIV------------------------NWT
Hebrews 1:5,6
(worshipping anything other than God is idolatry)Thou art my Son… And let all the angels of God worship him. YOU ARE MY SON… “AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM." "You are my Son…Let all God's angels worship him." You are my son; …“And let all God’s angels do obeisance to him.” Hebrews 1:8
(See Ps. 45:6)But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever But of the Son He says, YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever But with reference to the Son: “God is your throne forever
(original passage in Psalms was perverted to support this one!) -

Was Ray Franz Playing The Long Game?
by rory-ks ini'm just making my way through crisis of conscience for the second time and once again i am struck by the presentation of such detailed records.
letters are shown in full - copies of letters from the branch, and to the branch.
reports are quoted vebatim.

As I understand it, Ray Franz was a primary Watchtower researcher, having written the first WTBS biblical encyclopedia - Aid to Bible Understanding.
He was probably a prolific notetaker and documentor for a number of reasons, not the least of which was his personality type.

Not very zealous as before
by anointed1 inwhat i sense from the conversations of my family members and relatives who are jws is that at least some jws are not as zealous before with regard to the major subjects such as “sanctification of god’s name,” “vindication of his sovereignty” etc.
they begin to feel that such subjects are imaginary issues.. this is a good sign.
it shows people are worried about their own day-to-day worries.

The two issues you post about above are the "fake news" that the WT trots out for public consumption. It even sounds cool because of the big religious sounding words. It's still fake news.
1. The first point is easily dispelled in the statement that "there is no other name besides Jesus in which we get saved".
2. Jesus didn't come to vindicate Jehovah's sovereignty .... whatever that means. He "came so people could have life, and have life more abundantly"
It is not surprising that members are unmotivated by such useless cliches as: sanctification of God’s name & vindication of His sovereignty.

Why do you get upset about family shunning you?
by mr_doubtful ini understand people love their family but i also don't understand why you end up caring in the end.
i'm ready to leave and i 100% don't expecting my family to have any contact with me nor do i want them to contact me.
if they are going to chose a man made religion over me, that's their choice and i will sleep easy at night.

Do you think I should get something for my wife for her birthday?
by schnell inmy wife is still nominally in, but only because it "makes me (her) happy".
there is nothing academic about her beliefs and when i try, she interprets me as negative.. but then she cusses like a sailor and watches certain movies with me.
her birthday is coming up and it's also right around valentine's day.

Doing the will of God implies actions.
Yes it does. The question is: what that action entails. That's a legitimate question.
Jesus was once asked what we must do, to do the will of God. The answer? Believe Jesus.
....this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. - John 6
This is the beginning and the end of the "works" of God. This is the bottom line of Christianity.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
Christians have but one work; belief. Of course this is offensive to our cultured advanced minds. Nevertheless, everyone gets to chose their own eternal destiny, free of any burdens of performance whatsoever. The question then becomes what constitutes belief? It is a very personal thing. And God knows what we believe.

The What is ONE, the Who is Three. Once you understand this, things start to make a little more sense.
For instance, it might not be accurate to say that Jehovah bled on Calvary Hill while he hung on a tree. But it would be accurate to say that God bled on Calvary Hill while he hung on a tree.
The New World Translation changes a scripture in Acts 20:28 to obscure this.
feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. - KJV
shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood - NASB
Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood - NIV
shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own [Son] - NWT

Is god a trinity? Again, who cares? ...It seems to me people make mountains out of molehills
I agree to some extent. Even the new agers seem to agree that we are a trinity: body, soul & spirit. It seems to me that, "Why not God" could just as easily be asked in place of "Why God" when dealing with the trinity issue.

I'm not sure there is any real change here. The message still seems the same:
Even if you see us doing something unscriptural, (even if you are sidelined) stick with us until we get around to changing it.
This was the same message I received 20 years ago when I started questioning. Doctrine: "The standard is not the Bible, we are."
Same 'ole idolatry.
