Good point. When I realized that my non-belief was actually an intended consequence of the WT experience, I decided to do things "by the book" for a change.
My whole life took off in the right direction after making peace with God and abandoning religion and my own efforts as sources of influencing God. Looking back, I can now see how utterly offensive that was to God.
Unbelievable satisfaction is garnered just from knowing that the WT didn't win in my case. But, in all truthfulness, I have to give God the credit for that too. All the same... I get to walk in the victory parade.

Glad you brought that out Stucknarut. I have been thinking about that very quote the past few days. I actually used to quote that to my bible students when I was a pioneer.

JWs & "generations"
by Magnum inwe all know what a mess the jw "generation" teachings have been.
but, there is one hard and fast truth concerning jws and "generations" - that is, that many generations of jws have died without the realization of the hope they were promised.. there were many before my grandfather's time, but i'm going to start with his.
his generation, his peers, lived at a time when jwdom was exciting, bold, confident, seemingly deeper and scholarly, seemingly genuinely concerned about the preaching work and saving lives.

Same here. Work out at the gym. Enjoying my family. (The one I started at age 40 after leaving). Planning for retirement. Leaving the subject of "world conditions" in the hands of Christ. Looking forward to starting a wood working hobby this fall on newly acquired acreage property. Made peace with God. Not afraid of death. Will be 55 in two days.

The data is from Canada, which requires disclosure from charities. There is no such requirement from the U.S.
I had my CPA friend look at the data and he says they look to be in pretty big trouble. My friend has his doctorate, is a tenured college professor and has several other letters behind his name. He also pointed out several other things that looked abnormal. I would describe him as a forensic accountant.
He said he'd be willing to do an analysis in plain English so everyone could understand on a podcast sometime. He has been interested in JW issues for sometime now, even coming to one of my ex-jw events.I just wish we could get a leaked statement for him to anaylize. That would be great!

On this Fathers Day...
by babygirl30 ini have never really spoken on social media about my jw family shunning me.
i didnt even discuss or answer any questions about why they didnt come to my wedding, my birthday parties, why there are never any pics of them with me/us together.
until today.... today i woke up and had this insane desire to be open.

My wife and I were at a school fund raiser recently and the speaker was a well-know politician. He told a story how his father took him to an event once were the state governor was. His dad told him to take a good look at the governor because this would be likely the closest he would ever get to any governor.
His dad also taught him to work hard, value his family and told him not to look too far up the family tree because he wouldn't like what he saw. When he became a teenager, of course he did just that. His father was right, he didn't like what he saw.He went on to become a US Governor himself. He said he appreciated how his dad started a new family tree, in spite of what he was given to start with.
My wife saw me a little down today, and brought this event up. She told me that sometimes you just have to cut the old family tree down and start a new one. We have two wonderful sons together, 11 & 13.
She's right. I cannot force other people to be loving. The only person I can effect is myself and others close to me.
I wasn't even notified when my mother passed away. I was the "baby" of the family. Mom and I were close (as we could be) .I have faith in the mercy of God on her behalf. And, while I'm still here I will work hard so that my future generations won't have to deal with the fall-out of a robotic, unfeeling, cruel religious organization masquerading as prophets of God.
Who knows, maybe one of my kids will be governor one day?God Bless You!
