Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. - Mt. 23:10 (NASB)
Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. - Ps. 146: 3 (NIV)
.... We were warned!
after doing some critical research upon the watchtower corporation and its activity as a religious publishing house one can clearly see this is a commercialized false prophet run by sinning apostate men.. so the question remains why are people adhering and supporting this organization thinking they are going to gain salvation come judgment day by jesus ?.
jesus laid out instructions in how to identify false prophets, maybe he should have elaborated and said something about false prophets who would sell his gospel for profit.
this relates to more than the men who ran the wts.

School clothes Smiddy. One of their dress-up days.
I'm surprised that more people don't post more family pictures. 17 years ago when I joined this forum, I decided to use my real name and photo as my avatar. Best decision I ever made. Although I left for reasons of conscience (generation doctrine), I got shunned anyway. I guess sending my elder-appointed brothers and father a simultaneous letter outlining the crimes of the Watchtower didn't help.
I never experienced the power and blessing of God until I confessed him publicly to my family.... apart from the Watchtower.
While I was 40 yrs. old & single at the time, by the grace of God - they were replaced. I also have strong reason to believe that although I was denied being able to visit with my mom in her last few days, she may have experienced a death-bed conversion and accepted Jesus as her personal Savior.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
This is the list of Minimum Facts that Professor Habermas states that most skeptic scholars will allow. (university level and not basement bloggers)
The criteria for evidence they (the skeptic scholars) demand is far higher than for any other historical figure or event. But even using this unrealistic standard, you can still get to these 12.
This obviously includes the historicity of some of the apostles as well.
i just got so angry coming across this quote from the wt, shortly after raymond franz was disfellowshipped:.
one who has been a true christian might renounce the way of the truth, stating that he no longer considers himself to be one of jehovah’s witnesses or wants to be known as one.
when this rare event occurs, the person is renouncing his standing as a christian.
Yep....that's them: Judge, Jury & Executioner
(in their delusional dreams)

At 2:20 in Part 2 of the Lecture he lists 12 virtually undisputed, strongly supported facts concerning this early group that most scholars agree with. He claims that the ones with asterisks next to them are supported by 95% of new testament scholars including unbelieving skeptics. The others are supported simply by most scholars, perhaps 75%.

I think that without the Resurrection that no one would ever have thought much about this group of fisherman and other nobodies from this far-flung Roman Provence.
Are you familiar with the Minimal Facts argument for the Resurrection?
i really like my alexa.
a little creepy at first, but quite interesting.. i asked her if i should attend the assembly day on saturday.. she said "in your case, just go in the morning, walk around, see everyone, then at lunch walk to your car while talking on your cell phone.
then just leave.
Are you sure that wasn't your conscience?
just got done watching this program and what impress me the most was the bravery of those x-witnesses to sit there on national tv and tell everyone how the wt.
cult affected them.
no hidden faces, no avatar names and no disguise.

we are now in the 21st century of our common era with its insights into the potential of what can be achieved in the near future to benefit mankind for years to come .. the co-operation of governments around the world on so many levels has never been better than it is today and it is at least encouraging to see this .. whether it has to do with the climate , the environment ,food production ,safe water for all ,and the better health for all in the near future, and in the future space exploration.
however the problem today is still religion !
in its many extreme forms that divides us in no ways that politics divide us .. politicians learn how to compromise and work with their opponents for the greater good ,whereas religions don`t.. religions divide humans like no politicians ever did well not to the extremes religions will go anyway.. is their going to come a time in history when governments politicians say enough is enough and try attempt to abolish religion ?.
