BBC & Gary Lineker
by BoogerMan inwhether you like or loathe the guy, agree or disagree, surely he has a right to express his opinions freely on twitter?.
every bbc employee who appears on tv or speaks on the radio, should now be paranoid about any opinions they've put on their social media accounts, because if the bbc are prepared to censor/silence lineker, they'll go for anyone.. oops: looks like the bbc can dictate what their staff can & can't say in their social media accounts.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/guidance/individual-use-of-social-media.
pity they weren't as strict with their high profile paedophile, mr. savile..

I'm on both sides in this debate:
Gary Lineker broke the T's & C's laid down by the BBC - absolutely, so he deserved discipline/sacking.
However, the BBC T's & C's regarding all employees' personal social media accounts reminds me of the org's desire to control & monitor every aspect of a JW's life, personality, & thinking.
I suggested to someone last night that such overarching control of people's opinions & speech may be subject to legal challenges.
Imagine your own boss telling you that he'll sack you if you ever say anything which praises the Tory Party on your Facebook page!!! Human rights, freedom of thought & speech?
BBC Director-General Tim Davie has now made a statement about balancing the BBC's commitments to both impartiality and freedom of expression, and announced an independent review of the social media guidance.
We'll see how this develops.

Cofty, I don't follow anyone's social media ramblings, so as a licence fee payer, what any BBC employee says in the "privacy" of such forums, is irrelevant to me. On the other hand, if Mr. Lineker was spouting off on BBC TV/radio, I'd have something to say about that.
Having said all that, the BBC's censorship rules appear to be pretty clear, so Gazza should've known.
Maybe a court challenge will change things.

I give it until mid-April at the latest before some HQ Bethelites start whispering to friends/relatives in congregations regarding Mr. Morris's fall from grace. (see what I did there?)
There are bound to several/numerous individuals who know and are keen to share. It's in a JW's DNA.

If someone wearing a facemask experiences their glasses steaming up, why would they think for one minute that they weren't transmitting a virus at the same time?
Oh right, they were told so by their government.

For JW lurkers - After Hamburg.................
by BoogerMan in.......do you still believe the organization's false teaching that romans 6:7 refer to a person's literal death?.
watchtower may 15th 1982, pp.
8,9 - "the bible explains that at death a person is set free or released from any sins he committed.".

@ Blondie - Thanks for the Pure Worship book quote. That's a "new scrolls" reference not available on the CD ROM.
@ Rattigan350 - I agree with you 100% - the Bible is right regarding Romans 6:7. JW's are wrong.
Now read Romans 6:2,4,6,8,11 and you'll see that the context of v. 7 is describing a figurative dying - to one's former course of conduct.
2 Certainly not! Seeing that we died with reference to sin, how can we keep living any longer in it?
4 So we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, in order that just as Christ was raised up from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in a newness of life.
6 For we know that our old personality was nailed to the stake along with him in order for our sinful body to be made powerless, so that we should no longer go on being slaves to sin.
8 Moreover, if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
11 Likewise you, consider yourselves to be dead with reference to sin but living with reference to God by Christ Jesus.
Dying of cancer or being killed by a Guinness lorry does not acquit anyone of their sins. If they did, then scripturally, Christ's death and sacrifice were totally unnecessary.

bh p. 214 par. 3 - "..the judgment will not focus on what people did before they died... Those resurrected thus come to life with a clean slate, so to speak."
Philipp Fusz the killer also died. Consider the mental conflict when exchanging a figurative meaning for a literal one - as you try to convince youself and others of this abominable false teaching.
(Romans 1:25) They exchanged the truth of God for the lie.

Dreading the memorial
by Isambard Crater inhey.
does anyone else dread attending (in person or on zoom) the memorial months in advance?.
literally as soon as new year hits, i feel sick and super anxious, and i've realised it's because of the memorial, which i only attend because of family, who kinda tell me the reason they have bad health is cuz i left the jw sevel years ago..

Hi Isambard Crater, if/when you decide to fade, consider these options for dealing with 'inquisitive' elders and other JW's :
"Thank you for your concerns, but I have private & personal issues which I can't discuss with anyone at the moment - except in prayer to JEHOVAH - but I certainly appreciate your motives and concern. If things change, I will call you."
Elders' Conversation Stoppers:
"We only want to come and give you encouragement."
Simply repeat the response above - especially the phrase, "private & personal"!
"But how can we help you if you won't talk to us?"
"Everyone has private & personal situations which they can't discuss with others, and I'm sure that includes the elders - I'm no different!"
"Are you refusing to talk with us?"
"No, I just don't want to discuss things right now. I'll call you if things change."
The elders can't punish someone who chooses not to discuss personal issues, so never prolong an interrogation - just say 'thanks' and walk away.

The lockdown files
by ExBethelitenowPIMA innow we know it was all lies and politicians were discussing “when shall deploy the new variants”.
https://youtu.be/yxspk9tt3ik.
meanwhile the gov body believed all the lies and even said “you may be wondering what do these brothers know, wrong question what does jehovah know”.

@ ex-bethpima - the WTBTS/CCoJW are part & parcel of the system.
They are a multi-bi££ion business organization (the clue is in the name - wtbts INC.) who jumped onto the Christendom gravy-train with their own 'unique' teachings in order to create a new business model.
So expect more government boot-licking by the org as they try to keep their charity status in some countries.
