UPDATE: Telephoned the Public Information Department of the Britain Branch of JW's.
Asked them:
a) Is the story true?
Response: "I can't comment on a story I haven't read. Send us an email with your questions."
b) Does the org still own the building?
Response: "If you send us an email with your questions, we will consider them."
Public Information Department???????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He was more concerned with finding out who I was, rather than answering questions from the public.
If a registered charity responds like that, perhaps the Charity Commission should review their charity status.

There ISN'T a Branch in Ireland - it was sold off several years ago and Ireland is now under the U.K. Branch.

the watchtower society hedge fundseveral weeks ago it came to my attention via the e-jehovahs-witnesses discussion board that the watchtower society had devised a new money raising scheme.

the scheme is to beg and borrow money from each individual congregation account, which they deem to be in excess of the congregation's actual expenses.

i half jokingly responded to the topic then that the watchtower has become a hedge fund.

I respectfully disagree; the UK situation has nothing to do with incompetence.
The whole ~~refugee crisis~~ economic migrant situation is orchestrated and being complied with.
No one coming from France has any legal claim of being a "refugee." France is a safe country.
They adopt criminal status by breaking U.K. immigration laws, and as such, international law should not prevent their immediate return to the safe country from which they departed.
