sexual compatability

this subject has been touched on by some recent threads,but not addressed directly.so here goes.....just how important is sexual compatability in a marriage or other long term relationship?should it be important enough to dissolve an existing long term relationship?or should the partners be willing to compromise their level of desire in order to keep peace?.

my thoughts are that sex and intimacy in general are a big part of any relationship.they are necessary components in maintaining the communication,trust and happiness that is the foundation for a marriage,or other long term relationship.if sex and intimacy are absent from a relationship,eventually the rest of the relationship will erode away as well.. cowboy.

I realize that someone else already quoted one of Seven's paragraphs....but, I must admit that I also have to agree with Seven's thoughts on the matter that:

"I would never consider entering into a marriage or long term relationship will someone I wasn't sexually compatable with. It's all part of the package of what makes us desire and ultimately fall in love. I think people realize early on in a relationship what their levels of desire are and if they are on the same page. If you are true to yourself and are up front with your partner, then it just might be forever."

It is very true that no matter how good someone looks to me, no matter how much we may have in common, no matter how good friends we can become, no matter how much there's a meeting of the minds...it comes down to how we feel with each other when we're "cuddling" in bed. And sometimes, you have to give it a bit of time to see if you're going to be on the same page together or not!

Just my thoughts on the matter...

Depression is an unfortunate reality that the WTS doesn't want to admit to. Sure, they print the odd token article on depression, usually talking about how "wordly" people are depressed, but then try to paint a cheerfull picture of how most JWs are always happy. What a bunch of bull!

Good luck finding statistics on depression, since the WTS would never admit to it being a problem in their congregations...."Jehovah's people are supposed to be happy people!", is their standard reply.

But, I wouldn't be surprised if JWs suffer from depression more than "wordly" people. With all the pressures that they have, all the things that they are supposed to do, the very little free personal time that they have...and from my own exprerience as well as people that I knew....I would have to say YES...JWs suffer from depression a LOT more than the average human.

No more hiding!!!

well, here is my real picture.. i have decided to stop hiding and show my real face.. i hid behind an artificial facade (data) for a long time, fearful of facing the consequences of deciding that my former beliefs were incorrect.. i made the concrete decision in march of this year that jehovahs witnesses do not have the truth and in fact that they were totally wrong.. however, since i have been inactive for 5 years and i do have some people that i care about still in the organization, i decided that i would not reveal who i was so that i did not lose my friends and family.. however, i have now decided to be who i am and my change in my picture icon represents that change.

the consequences are still the same, and i am likely to lose most if not all of my borg friends, but that is the consequence of my decision.. no more hiding for me .

Toronto's August gathering

once again people were either to tired or to ummm preoccupied to post after the gathering today.. it was a great event for me since i saw an old friend from 7 years ago..another former bethelite who left the org before me.

we were good friends at bethel and it was great to re-aquaint ourselves as free persons!!!.

got a chance to get to know others much better.

By the way everyone...for the next Apostofest, festivities will be commencing from the moment our first out of town guests arrive at the airport and are picked up by one of our Toronto boys! Which means the party starts from around 3PM Friday until they leave on Sunday afternoon!

So, for anyone having problems making it just for Saturday evening...no problem...you'll all have plenty of opportunity to fellowship with some fine fine (shall I say very fine?) people!!!!!

Now, if we could get Kent to leave Norway for a few days and come visit us in Canada, we'd have a hell of a party, don't yah all think?

Wow...I'm part of the "We Love Seven" admiration society?

Well, I do have a thing for Jeri Ryan...but I don't think our Seven looks anything like Jeri. I won't question you on the intelligence part however because I enjoy reading her posts (you hear this Seven?)!

I wanted to ask her about a couple of the guitarists she mentioned (because they are my favourites also). But, by doing an internet search I came up with the info I wanted anyways.

But, Kis...you & Expat had me in stiches on the other thread (August Toronto gathering report)!!!
