i want to thank so many of you for giving me the ammunition i needed to initiate actions that i hope will save at least one of my two children from the cult of the wtbts.
i have been able to undertake some positive actions in no small measure because of all you people here.
some of you may recall from earlier posts that two of my boys friends were dis-fellowed and that i went ballistic when my kids told me they were not allowed to talk to their best friends because the society says we cant.
Beautiful freeman - I rejoice (hate that word! lol) in the experience you have had w/your son. I hope that someday you will experience this w/your wife and other son as well. Even if your son chooses to stay w/JW's, just by this conversation (and the many more to ensue over the years) will hopefully keep your family together.

I am sure if this were even true the back lash would be severe. In fact, I think if they are getting a "surge" of new followers, the WTBTS will have to find a way to curb the disturbing pics. Could you imagine a new sheep who had recently lost a loved on in the attacks seeing something like that?!!!

Yeah, they won't let priests from any other religion but JW's in - RIGHT!!!!! My goodness - I bet this will be all over their e-mails, do ya think anyone will think its false?!!! Of course not. first of all, let me make it clear that i have left the wts, and i don't agree with its teachings (mostly, the organisation presented as "gods prophet").. i have a few family members who are jws.
does everyone here think it is loving of us to tell them all the things that the wts have done wrong?

IMHO - i think circumstance will dictate whether you should attempt to intervene. My mother has been in the truth for 33 years, and she's in the 1st stages of Alzheimers. Would telling her, arguing w/her help her? No - so out of love for her I shall stay quiet and respect her & her faith (even though she shuns me). I know no JW's anymore, as I left quite some time ago. Would I try to save them if I could? Probably not - they can't be saved unless they want to be. The human brain can justify anything, so if they choose to believe, they will.

he said that it's great that i'm now out but that i have 'dues to pay' to those whom i have disfellowshipped and talked out of going to college while serving as an elder.
while serving as an elder i did share in disfellowshipping several members of the congregation, many of whom are still out there being shunned by family and friends.
The answer comes w/in your own bible WT. And, its pretty clear - God & Jesus can forgive all. Besides, you were led into this "brainwashing" as much as any other person on this board. We are all "guilty", if thats what you call it, of being led down that cult path. Just because you got a little farther ahead than others, well that doesn't really matter. You are doing everything you can to help them now. Sharing your own experiences reaches some who have been hurt, and perhaps your words will comfort & help them. LOL - unless ya wanna pay for my son's education as I never went to college? (thats a joke - lighten up - God wants us to be HAPPY - not swivel around in self-loathing, doubt & unhappiness).

If he appears at your home again, or if you in ANY way have to converse, tape it, tape it, tape it. Then, send the tape of your conversations to this mans "congregation". This man treated your husband in the most cruel way. If not, just ignore him and speak only through your attorney. He isn't worth anymore than that. And be glad that your jon was the 180 degree opposite.

she asked her po last night about the un issue.

Yes, I spoke w/my mother last night on this "technical" issue (we aren't allowed to discuss spiritual matters) and she informed me that there were 2 WTBTS societies, one set on destroying hers. She also told me that it was very possible that Satan himself joined the WTBTS to the UN - to disuade true believers of God. They'll never believe. She then asked me why it would even matter?!!!!!!!!!!
