  ok guys, (simon probably won't like this thread) what's the worst thing you did as a kid to a defenseless animal?

  me, i liked to throw rocks at frogs.

  my mom was so mad when she saw me..... the girls are gonna be pissed..... rotfl

  Found - I NEVER Knew that!!! But, what choice did you have?

  I cannot stand it when people let their animals run loose and do whatever they want. Not fair to the non-pet owners, nor others property or pets. So, your choice was understandable.

  And this is one sick thread - I can't believe people can be so cruel to harmless animals (not you found - you were just protecting Teddy).

  What are those individuals going to do for "bigger prey" and isn't this how all serial killers start out?

  following on the heels of what bowen said about ray, i began to see a statement that real soon began to get under my skin.

  i've read it several times since and i hafta say: that little irritant is beginning to fester more than i care for.

  the statement was something in the neighborhood of, "let's not get side-tracked with this franz / bowen fiasco and remember who our real enemy is... the watchtower society!".

  Hit the nail on the head w/me - good job.

  When I finally realized the only person holding me back was me, things became alot clearer. Once a person reaches adulthood, they are responsible for their own destiny.

  And teejay - I highly doubt you are still unable to meet your full potential. My dad went back to college at the tender age of 52 to become a teacher.....he was 1 semester away from graduation when GM called him back from early retirement. You can still be all you want to be.

  Asperger's Syndrome

  has anyone heard of asperger's syndrome?

  i was doing research the other day, for someone, and came across this disorder.

  in reading it, i am positive both my youngest son and his wife have it.

  Condolences to Jayson..

  jayson's (also known here as iwasyoungonce) step-mother passed away last night.

  he is now travelling, a 6 hour drive, and will be back with us in a few days.

  A past generation of Americans had the good "sense" to invent the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society .

  Ouch! But if I remember correctly, most of the true religious tyrants where in England long before America as we know it existed!

  Sorry - I just re-read and realized you were discussing a young adult!!! If your son is diagnosed with Aspergers, he is eligible for any needed "educational services/therapies" until the age of 26 - if there are any issues he would like to address.

  Mulan - its the higher functioning end of the autism spectrum - are there any particulars you or your daughter need to know - just e-mail me.

  Aspergers tend to be "idiot savants" and that they are extremely focused on one particular interest which totally consumes them. They tend to have little social skills, and little "emotional comprehension of others feelings.

  If you or your daughter in law have any questions, e-mail me. I'll provide some links to some wonderful sights for your d-i-l when I get home.

  My son is autistic, and through his autism I have had alot of involvement in the school educational laws for our kids. If your d-i-law needs help understanding her rights with this diagnosis - please have her email me - that's one thing I'm good at (I am a parent advisory committee member & also do volunteer work for Cause & Arc)

  P.S. If it makes you feel any better, the little guys not in bad company. Albert Einstein & Thomas Jefferson are 2 Famous Asperger cases.
