ms. hamilton states -- "while religious conduct provides many benefits to society, it is not always benign.

Wow a lot of easily pissed off people on this thread.

Unfortunatly we have entered a period in time that is very different, than what we have experienced before and we are now ill prepared.

These bombings are equally delivered to other Islamic countries and to other Islamic groups not agreeing with these fundamental terrorists.

We are going to have to live with and not be too disturbed by the changes required to have some level of protection.

Although a good level of argument against it is also a good thing. As it tends to keep the political leaders from going too far too fast.

Note the attacks on Egypt now and a few other Islamic populated countries where Muslims are dying.

It is beginning to look like Alqueda sp? is loosing its momentum in Iraq and more and more Islamic nations are turning against his use of terror. If so this would apply to any other group of terrorists also.

My point of view is that we need to accommodate some of the increased searching of bags and people and the use of more recording cameras.

By the way. We are far more likely to be killed in a car accident or by a doctors mistakes than in a terrorists attack. UNLESS they get their hands on neuclear weapons or wmd chemical & biotec weapons.

Then is when the crap will hit the fans.

Anyone have any solutions for this war then??

CAN MEN AND WOMEN JUST BE "FRIENDS"?

My wife is involved in home health. (care by nurses at the persons home by scheduled visits).

In this position she has noticed that many of the old folks have children who seem to care nothing for the parents.

She has also noticed that if the patient has a male or female homosexual child, that they are the ones most likely to look after their parents.

I have gotten to know a few of them and even though I was raised to despise the homosexual "life style" not the person, I find myself more accepting of them in general.

We also have a young relative girl who is homosexual and I and her get along fine.

It is amazing how much our eyes open up, once we leave the demands of a cult and make our own decisions in life and decide due to the others actions and personality and caring or not caring towards others. Not their sexuality. And no I do not have any problems having friends in both sexes of a sexual nature. Although if they are well endowed in various areas and my type, I notice and I do have feelings. But they remain with me.

U/D If your description is accurate, it is that "seething hatred that is ALWAYS brewing just below the surface" that may some day bite you in the ass.

There are several mental activities that can really damage us physically and emotionally if they are kept on constant alert.

Hyper alert = ready for attack from others at all times.

Subliminal constant anger = unsatisfied or unresolved not addressed anger = can be cause of suicidal thoughts or anger directed to another close to you. Without your awareness.

These things are a constant extreme load on our mental and emotional systems.

I am sure you already know these things. But I would feel guilty if I did not pass this on to you.

I believe that your feelings are fully justified. It is controling our feelings and making good use of them and not letting them use us and causing us to react to our feelings without thought. That we need to be aware of.

I can't say that I "never" have a passing thought of kicking ass on some elder.

When all this happened and after, the only thing stopping me from some serious illegal acts on a couple of elders, was the fear of prison.

My pragmatic mind thankfully did overide some of my emotional minds desires.

I really wanted to hurt someone. But I would advise you to look at the facts.

We can only stop hurting when we put all of the unhappy past in the past and keep it there.

Then work on making happiness appear in our lives TODAY. Live today with the good things of "Today" and not reliving the hurt of YESTERDAY over and over again.

Not easy to do but it can be done. Every night when I go to bed, I remind myself of the life I have TODAY and how much better it is than the lives of jw's including the lives of those that did hurt me in the past and I chuckle to myself.

I laugh at them and their screwed up lives their prophecies and their sad meetings and constricting beliefs.

You are out of that mess man, take advantage of it and Live.
