Most of the police departments have at least an unwritten quota of traffic citations.

If this is not reached it looks like the cop is sleeping on the job. Only one of several ways of making the cop earn his pay check.

I always found this strange since there are many many drivers that could have been cited and we ignored. If it was a minor violation.

Even on a good day and feeling well, it is hard to put up with the attitudes of Sam /Man. If you behave in an arrogant manner It will not set well with the usual over worked officer. Especially if he has dealt with a few more Sam/Man stops and is not too fond of the loud mouths.

Cops work an 8 hour day? Yes and then they have to go in and write reports and other stacks of paper work. So it is often a nine or ten hour day.

What happened to that paperless society we were promised in the 1980's??

Lets face it, the cops DO HAVE the rights for citations and arrests. This is given to them by the public through voting for or against these laws or not trying to change the laws, using the tools the government gives out. So if you don't like it, do something about it.

There is also an internal investigation unit in the police dept. that one can go to and often an ombudsman, not a part of the police that will look at your claims of abuse.

back in 1990, i brought my aunt to the district assembly at the olympic stadium in montreal.

i told her to sit with us, but she didn't want to.

she wanted to sit with a sister her age in another part of the stadium.

As a sheriffs deputy I had some experience with this issue. This was in the 1960's and a lot has changed since then in the law enforcement.

At that time all reports of molestation were looked into and investigations were started, but there wasn't the knowledge we have now. So it was difficult to establish a case that the prosecutors would look at as useful and winnable in court.

I would guess that this is also true at this time but there are more methods available to the police, if they choose to use them.

Then when my daughter tells me of being molested by her uncle, an elder in the cong. I was no longer in law enforcement and went to the police with this charge and it was past the statute of limitations.

So I took it to the elders and even though it was not a recovered memory and there were complaints from several other sisters when the word spread, even with all this the wbts legal desk said to drop all charges.

The elders told me it was up to me to help my daughter to accept this.

This is the point where the shit hit the fan as far as I was concerned. Do you see the switching of responsibility away from the wbts and then to the elders and then to me??

A few years passed and the elders wanted to talk to two of my daughters about this pedophile ELDER due to more complaints. He was removed from the elder position and the dance went on.

This attitude and these actions have been in place in many religions and schools and groups like the ymca and boy scouts and families and on and on for years and years.

It is only in recent years that these things were actually targeted and brought to light for the public to see the size of what is going on.

About 12 yrs later new charges were brought up about this pedophile ELDER IN GOOD STANDING.

His own daughter told the elders, that there are so many young women who kept bringing up this matter, that there must be something wrong.

So now he is finally df'd. about 3 or 4 yrs ago I think. I wonder if there is some molesting memories in his daughters memory that caused this to be looked at again??

This all points to the ignorant arrogant attitude of the wbts.

If this had been turned in to the police to begin with, they would be out of the picture. But the arrogant old fools refuse to see the benefits of giving the authorities full information and cooperation.

There is nothing worse than some old fools trying to be above the laws of the land and act as a government and police within their own cult.

It is like a game of make belive with the ability to hurt people.

Dr Phil's statement about pedophiles/molesters - from today's show

today on dr phil, the entire show revolved around 2 sisters and their half sister who grew up in an abusive home.

the older two girls were molested in addition to physical, verbal and emotional abuse by their step-father (their half-sister's biological father).

the youngest girl, now in her 20s, has a child of her own, whom she entrusts to the baby's grandfather - the same man who sexually abused her half sisters.

Does the victim of a pedophile become confused ?

Absolutely they do.

There is a case right now in s/w Idaho where a young girl was molested by her step father.

The girl claims that she told the authorities about him back then and nothing was done.

She claims that her mother knew of what was going on and did nothing.

The victim is currently married to this same step father that molested her. He is in jail for other crimes.

NOW she is trying to sue the athorities for neglecting to make a case.

What a mess!

Feeling Discouraged About The Future Of My Marraige

for those of you who may not be familiar with my story, a little history may help clarify my dilemna.

i was raised as one of jehovah's witnesses, pioneered, became a ministerial servant, married a pioneer, and then became an elder, all before the age of thirty.

a few years ago, i began to have serious doubts about the teachings and religious system established by the watchtower.

24 K It has been my "experience" and I have noticed that on this forum. That when a marriage is at the point of falling apart, there was often another problem aside from the effects of the jw cult on individuals, marriages, and families.

Take a good look at you and your mate and the marriage and see if there is and always maybe, another basic problem. If this is true, this matter needs correcting first.

Again it would be wise to consult a certified counselor for help in these areas.

As many have stated, showing your wife love and respect for her and her feelings and making it clear that you do love her and want this marriage to remain intact and asking for the same from her to you, may over time cause her to re think her conduct and how she treats you.

Also, if you see that things are not getting better, but are getting worse, remember that if you see a train coming at you, act before it gets upon you. Don't linger on the tracks and watch it destroy you .

Prepare for what ever legal methods you may need to remain a major part of your childrens lives.

I think I might have a DEMON in the house!!!!!...Spooky!

it all started one day when i was in the laundy room and i heard my husband pull up in the driveway, shut his door, unlock the door to the house, shut the house door, so i go down to greet him ( with a big kiss and hug, as i always do

anyway i get down stairs and he is not there so i assumed that he was already out feeding comet!

Legolas, I can tell you with certainty, that I was the only demon in your area of Canada on this night and I did not reach your house YET.

In looking through the list from SATAN I can see that it will be some time before I haunt your family.

Now it can be that we have a REBEL DEMON on the loose. If so I will find him when I visit your house and kick his ass.

In the meantime I suggest you spray your house with liquid garlic and some catnip leaves. This will give the demon a form of alergy that cuses a lot lf coughing and sneezing. Just ignore this.

And get on with your happy life filled with new experiences.

i dont get the mags anymore, but im glad to be able to keep up with what's being said in the wt through your weekly comments on the wt study.. i would think it might get tiresome to wade through the bs in the articles week after week.

im sure it takes a lot of your time to research, then type your post.

INTERESTING TALK WITH A PENTACOSTAL PREACHER

i had mentioned that i was raised in a jw family and we got to talking.. quite an interesting exchange of information.

when i brought up the pedophile problem in the jw's and the lack of action to make changes to protect the children, he told me that the pentacostal religious leaders required that each church and the preacher in charge had to have insurance and how expensive it was.. also that the insurance companies required certain things be changed and followed.

all the rooms that would be used for or by children had to have glass doors.

It is also obvious that some of the behaviour of the wbts is also to keep from being sued. They try their best to leave the congregation or the elders as the responsible parties and then vigorously defend them if it comes to court.

Religion is a very strange world, filled with contradictions, beliefs and failures.
