Fair minded person with a fair point of view

i have been one of jehovah's witnesses for about 9 years before i became inactive.

i just had some comments i'd like to make.. i think the reason why i'm inactive now is because i've come to a point in my life where i feel obligated to admit that i just don't know.

at one time i was as fiery and zealous of a witness as anyone could be but i had this nagging feeling that i really didn't know what i was talking about when i was witnessing to people.

Don't let some of the anger on this forum run you off.

There are very many here that are past that phase and look at things a little different now.

A lot of the anger is due to some of the grief at losing family members and divorces that could have been prevented if the wbts did not have such a rigid stance against those who question some of their teachings and cause a family member to be disfellowshiped. They have a reason to be angry.

I for one would like to hear more from you and what you have experienced. I lost my marriage and my siblings and they are now deceased.

Know why I was df'd?? For fits of rage. Yeah you read it right, it was for fits of rage.

When the elders refused to act when my daughter told me that her Uncle, an elder had molested her and several other sisters complained about him.

My fit of rage was when I told the elders they needed the shit kicked out of them. Then bingo! I am df'd my daughter is left swing in the wind and I loose my siblings.

The elder has since died, my siblings have died, except for my brother.

I was angry for a long time. I am passed that now and I assure you that I will not verbally attact you .

i would suggest downloading the index (3.8mb) first, then you can view/download a particular letter referenced from the index.

I have down loaded the INDEX and can hardly wait for the rest. I don't know all the people that got this information and made it available, but I thank you all.

Good on ya all. I think that this is the sort of thing that will catch the interest of jw's and maybe the legal authorities.

Way to go!!! This may really piss off the wbts, I hope so.

The MYSTERIOUS CELEBRATED WBTS SCHOLARS.

No one knows their names, so they can not be CELEBRATED. Other than in the mind of "scholar".

I think this is a sexual experience for "scholar" because this is the only issue that he will regularly jump into.

He seems to know nothing much about his religion other than this issue. Then he will hang in there as he is getting shot down, over and over again. Sort of an emotional masturbation for a person that gets his rocks hot at getting beaten.

Poor old Scholar.

i mostly stick to the "fluff" threads, because they are safe.

i wont be attacked for an unpopular point of view, or hurt anyone elses feelings.

Every time I see a post from someone who took a long time to start posting, I wonder just how many people out there are reading this forum on a regular basis and what are they learning.

Could it be that there are many who read the information on this forum and are leaving the wbts cult and never do post on here??

I was an elder for roughly 2 years. I never served on a Judicial interrogation because the local hardliners didn't trust me.

The more kind and helpful I was toward the publishers the more the other elders would look on me like I was not strong enough. Like the accusation that I was not "service minded enough". "I am not yet ready for judicial meetings" and so on.

This and other mistreatment by the more arrogant elders caused me to resign from that position.

As far as I am concerned Willyman just about said it all.

The world is full of good, bad, indifferent, and evil people in every position in society.

I can see and understand, the two different feelings held against those jw's that were in charge.

I don't have an argument with either side and both sides experienced what may have been very different treatment in this cult.

However I have found that as I shed the jw cult teachings on how to treat our neighbors and others in need, that the general public are much more forgiving and helpful to strangers and those who may have hurt them than I ever was.

I began to admire their willingness to help almost any person in need. Then it began to worry me, that I wasn't that kind of person to readily give help without using their past against them.

I am not saying that I would readily give help to known pedophiles or killers, but the ignorant or duped or especially the older people unable to support themselves.

I am not proud of the hate I was raised in toward those that were not jw's. I am not proud of the way I looked down on most of the worlds people as evil persons that Jehovah was soon to kill. The lack of love and caring I grew up in.

It has taken a while for me to clear my mind of the old personality and adopt the worldy persons feeling of responsability for the old or sick or injured or those without the training to hold a good job.

The really big job is to not feel constant hate for those who may have hurt me. I may not forgive them but I will not hate them if they fall into a situation where they need help.

I Asked My Wife A Question Yesterday

over the last two weeks since i posted about my wife taking me to the elders, i have been working very hard to save my marriage.

i have made arrangements for babysitting so that we can go out at least once or twice a week.

we have taken in a movie, gone for a walk, gone to the beach, gone to the museum, gone to a jazz concert and just yesterday we went to a coffee house and talked over a nice cup of joe.

However I do believe from personal experience that there can be a marriage

with both a religious problem and a marriage problem.

Then the unsatisfied person uses the latest problem to reinforce the original problem in their mind.

Then the self justification comes forward in their mind.

I really feel sorry for Scholar.

He desperately tries to defend the undefendable. Attributing scholars to the wbts that do not exist. Is so difficult for him to proove, that he ends up stating that these scholars are recieving information and help from and through the fds.

When one examines their history of predictions and nonsensical rules and regulations that flip flop now and again. One can only have pity on this poor man.

It is very difficult and damaging to scholars emotional well being, when he has to prove the worthiness of a worthless organization with worthless information thought up by worthless people.

Those of us that may still pray to God ought to pray for Scholars well being and that God forgives him for transmitting useless information that he feels is useful.

For he truly knows no better and needs forgiving.

Scholar, even if these celebrated scholars you refer to, are having their efforts printed in the wbts publications. If their identity is not revealed, they can not be refered to as "celebrated" scholars.

If they do not put their works up for the world to see and open them for criticism and comments, they are not going to be looked upon as scholars either.

A true scholar puts his or her works up for criticism and expects to be made aware of subtle or obvious mistakes. They recognize these and correct them as they see needed.

Any scholar that hides his or her identity is not worth the time of others to examine and possibly learn from that scholar. Also the nameless scholar never benifits from the efforts of others because they can not and will not fit into the same world as true celebrated scholars.

The so called scholar that hides his or her identity is better identified as a story teller. Using various publications of little or no worth and trying to use them to tell a story using other stories as their source.

They fit in well with political groups and religious groups. Not the source I would want for or live my life according to their teachings.
