Do you believe in ghosts?

i am posting this because i know there are many people that have had experiences that cannot be explained by natural means.

i am a ghost hunter, as a hobby.

my hobby is to disprove ghosts.

Well I have only one experience I can't explain.

I woke up in the middle of the night, around 3.00 in the morning and was wide awake watching a ball of orange/yellow light or energy float across the ceiling and then rise through the ceiling and go away.

Oh I almost forgot. my neighbor lady had an experience that scared her. Her tv would change channels, get loud or low, turn off and on. It was driving her nuts.

Turned out it was me and a friend with a tv controller by her window.

She didn't think it was funny. We did.

I MUST SAY IT IS A BIT DISTURBING, TO LEARN THAT THE ONLY ORGANIZATION ON EARTH, THROUGH WHICH JEHOVAH AND THE HOLY SPIRIT OPERATE, HAS NO REAL ORGANIZED CHARITY CORPORATION AMIDST ALL OF ITS SEVERAL CORPORATIONS.

IT BECOMES CLEAR THAT THEY ONLY INTEND TO HELP THEIR MEMBERS AND THEIR PRECIOUS BUILDINGS.

IT IS HOWEVER VERY INTERESTING TO SEE THAT ALL THE SO CALLED RELIGIONS OF SATAN HAVE ESTABLISHED AND FUNCTIONING CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS. READY, WILLING, AND FUNDED TO PROVIDE HELP TO ALL.

REGARDLESS OF THEIR FAITH, ETHNICITY, OR LOCATION.

THEY WILL EVEN HELP THOSE OF A RELIGIOUS GROUP, THAT CONDEMNS THEM ALL.

I THINK "LYNNE'S STATEMENT AND ATTITUDE " EXPLAINS IT ALL.

JWs and charitable work

i've read on here several times about how jws are discouraged for doing charitable work for anybody other than jws, and that they are discouraged from contributing financially to non-jw charities.

are there some references to this in their literature that someone could point me to?.

also, i had a discussion with a jw about a recent relief effort some jws did in florida.

Just a note about insurance payments.

After a fire or other damage to a structure, the insurance company sends a certified inspector and then the insurance adjuster.

They will issue a check for the damage as it is determined by these two individuals.

This may differ from insurance co. to another or due to state laws, but some ins. co's, will want to choose the company to do the rebuild/repair.

All the times I have seen this, the check is given to the home owner before repairs start and they can do as they want.

So theoreticaly the homeowner could accept the jw rebuild and donate the check to the wbts.

Knowing the wbts as I do, I am sure a lot of pressure is put on the homeowner to do just that.

So the labor delivered at no charge would end up as another gift to the wbts. Yet another way to make money.

The Watchtower: Sincere Old Men or Deliberate Deceivers?

when a witness encounters injustices engendered by the watchtower and considers them.

with clarity of mind, he is likely to suppose that , at worst, the old men who run things.

are sincere but misguided.

I have said this before and I will again.

I agree with Metatron and in my mind I take it a step further.

When I think of the anger in some of the co's and do's when they responded to a question or when I ponder the statements of THE BOSS Ted Jar ass, I detect what I believe is evil.

I don't think there are demons. So I don't think they are involved. I think it is the same evil that can take over a person who is arrogant and ignorant and feels they have absolute power.

Then they become absolutely corrupted and the evil envelops them.

It only takes a few corrupted people to corrupt a complete organization. IE Hitler and the German government.

I need help...really really bad...

i'm almost to the point of an emotional breakdown.

i go out with this guy he's 20, a jw and i'm a 16yr.

he basically breaks all the rules in the book; adultry, sex;oral, drugs, drinking, partying, he's even growing a little chin,bottom and top lip hair.

Don't forget, that since you are only 16 you owe a moral obligation to take this up with your parents.

They need to be aware of what is going on in your life. If they are unable or unwilling to help you with this, take it up with an uncle or aunt.

Really any adult who you trust and admire in a face to face situation.

If I were your relative, I would tell you to no longer see this young man. He seems unstable mentally and the cult he is in will make your life a living hell.

You deserve another 3 or 4 years to grow up without this kind of emotional burden.

Then if you and he were 25 or 30 yrs, old and you ask the same questions, and describe this man the same way,I would say get as far away from this man as you can.

So p*****d off - need to offload

i am so angry - i've been a long term lurker here and an occasional poster but i have just got to offload tonight.

mom and i have never been 'in the truth' but my dad and 2 brothers are.

tonight my dad told me that last night he resigned as an elder (which for me personally is great) but the reason is that because both my parents have health issues, especially mom, my dad has been given 6 months to get his act together and put some more hours in field service as he is 'not leading by example'.

I can understand your feelings Neverin.

I was an elder and had much the same experience which caused me to bring the molesting of my daughter out into the open.

For me it was the last straw.

Maybe things will work out themselves and your dad will free himself as I finally did.

Show a lot of love and kindness for your dad and mom and maybe he will see the difference in free people and the cult.

I can recall as a child in the 1940's how different individuals would care for the elderly and sick.

But even then, it was always INDIVIDUALS and never any organized provisions to help the poor and needy or sick members.

The non jw's in the neighbor hood were mostly ignored if they needed help.

newbie seeking others thoughts

basically i have been reading the bible lately & doing extensive research on the web and have come across many things in my search...any imput put on various scriptures or sites i would appreciate.... .

first of all i found more than a few religions that resemble the teaching of the jw's...so can they honestly say they are the only ones with the "truth"?

scriptures i came across in my studies this week (if you have any other translations of these same scriptures please quote them in ur response i have 2 kjvs as well as the nwt that i am using...thanks!

Hi Brokenfairy.

You can't be too broken. You flew in here and are among a lot of people who are easy to get along with and also helpful.

Some are almost experts at knowledge of the bible, some are very turned off by formal religious organizations, some are agnostic and some are athiests.

Almost all of them are interested in the well being of you and the others here.

Relax kick back and tell your story and fears and you will have many people reply with their experiences and how they survived and moved on.

Maybe one or two will preach to you but many if not most, will only tell their story or give you thoughts or guidance or information as you ask for it.

The rest is up to you.

That is the way it ought to be.

The description that the wbts has assigned to the word APOSTATE is their own label, "one who has left Jehovah and his teachings and wants to lead others astray" is designed to cause fear in the minds of believers.

The dictionary correct description is " abandonment of what one professed or believed" as in faith, principles or party.

It is no more than "you changed your mind about something".

This is one of many ways the wbts controls our thoughts and feelings.

It is surprisingly effective and used by all cults.
