The Supremes Abolish 4th Amendment

just a couple of days ago, the us supreme court ruled in a case that has demolished the 4th amendment which states:.

amendment iv: the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

previously, you were secure in your person, including your cloths, car, house, etc.

I remember conversations like this when I was a child. All the aprehension about some new tactic the police were using and how this would result in us losing all of our rights and all.

The constitution was being destroyed. The police would crash into the houses of innocent people and all.

This was 55 / 60 yrs ago. It never happened.

As technology grows the criminals will use this to continue their illegal acts.

The police will have to step up their technology to keep up. The use of a dog to sniff the air around a car, where a driver is unusually nervous or showing signs of fear is hardly an act of invasion of privacy.

If so we would have to stop all the police from giving a sobriety test to a driver, because the cop smelled liquor on the drivers breath or maybe he slured his speach.

This line of thought remindes me of the jw's always preaching the world is going to hell and we will all die.

This court decision does not change the 4th amendment it still stands and can be used as a defence in court.

If we are not doing illegal acts, what do we have to fear is a legitimate question.

discounting the regular "5 meetings a week" and "saturday field service", let's look at the average year in a jw's life, beginning with the september service year... september.

if you haven't been to your district convention you will this month.

THIS BRINGS BACK A MEMORY.

QUITE A FEW YEARS AGO, MY FAMILY AND A FEW OTHER JW FAMILIES WENT TO A NICE CAMPING SITE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF IDAHO.

EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GOOD TIME AND ON SUNDAY ONE OF THE A HOLE ELDERS THERE, SAID WE ALL NEED TO GATHER TOGETHER AND REVIEW THE WATCHTOWER STUDY FOR THIS WEEK.

I STILL RECALL MY DISGUST AND THE REALIZATION, THAT I LOOKED AT A VACATION AS INCLUDING A VACATION FROM THE WBTS.

THIS WAS EARLY ON IN MY GRADUAL AWAKENING.

here's my situation: .

i have four children (10,7,6,4).

my wife (now ex-wife) and i were not getting along very well five years ago.

IT IS A BUMMER WHICH EVER WAY YOU GO.

MY 1ST WIFE - A YOUNG JW- MADE SOME COMMENTS LIKE THIS ABOUT OUR 1ST CHILD.

THEN ELEVEN YRS. LATER, WALKED OUT ON ALL OF US.

EARLY ON I DECIDED THAT IT MATTERED NOT WHO WAS MY DAUGHTERS FATHER. I DECIDED TO RAISE THIS GIRL AS MY DAUGHTER AND NOT BE TROUBLED BY THIS ISSUE.

I ALWAYS TREATED HER THE SAME AS OUR OTHER CHILDREN.

I DID THIS BY PUTTING MY DAUGHTERS WELL BEING UP FRONT AND MOST IMPORTANT.

WHAT EVER TRANSPIRED WAS NOT MY DAUGHTERS FAULT AND SHE SHOULD NOT EVER BE TROUBLED BY IT, WAS MY DECISION.

IT HAS WORKED OUT WELL, EVEN THOUGH THIS DAUGHTER AND HER SIBLINGS WERE DEVASTATED BY THEIR MOTHER ABANDONING THEM.

YOU MIGHT HAVE OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER THAT WOULD ADD TO THE DIFFICULTY IN MAKING THESE DECISIONS.

BUT ALWAYS PUT THIS CHILDS WELL BEING UP FRONT.

If we were to make a list of all the countries where there is a strong liberal camp and a strong conservative camp, we would find there are agendas from both sides.

Both sides "buy" the coverage they like and "stretch" the truth to the breaking point.

On this list we would find Canada and New Zealand.

That only leaves the arctic and antarctic.

Stumbled Across the Forum

i stumbled across this forum today as i was looking for information online as it relates to johnny carson and the whole john denver thing that was spread around years ago.

it's no surprise that i cant find a single thing on it on the web as i always thought it was an urban legend.

just angers me that things like that spread around and so many people just accept it as truth because a brother or sister told it to them.

Hello Uncle1welcome to the tribe.

I can certainly understand your conflicted thoughts and feelings.

For me, one of the strongest indicators that the wbts itself is to blame, is that they loudly claim to be the only organization on earth that has Gods blessing and that God is their source of information and guidance.

Then one day I looked at all their changes or flip flops regarding organ transplants, false dates for armageddon 1914-1918-1925-1975 and many others.

Then it dawned on me that either God was messed up or the wbts did not have Gods blessing and guidance.

I chose to go with God and put the blame on the wbts.

International assemblies - $$$$ aspect

my mother is 61 yoa and has always lived on the brink of poverty.

a little over a year ago she said that there had been an annoucement of an "international assembly" in australia.

she applied.

Looking at your mothers age and financial situation and the fact that this was done by a so called charitable organization, and it is NOT REFUNDABLE, I would bet that there is an attorney or at least some news papers and tv stations that would love to get this information.

If it were my mother they would surely hear from me.

I would pay to have an attorney mail the wbts with a threat of legal action and the elders individually.

Do the same "wait on jehovah thing" by using the legal system.

Actually I would truly raise hell! Of course your mother would probably be agast. Or maybe not?
