Frannie I have thought of getting a T shirt or even a license plate with EX JW or JW'S SUCK.
But I woul feel like an absolute idiot wearing some thing like that in public and I don't know why.
Outoftheorg.
well this poor jw walked to the table to sort out the throw aways just as i headed there also.. i saw him and smiled, then he dropped his head to not look at me.
we both sorted out the things for the trash bin and were only about 20 or so inches apart.. i remember him coming to my house when my daughters were young girls and he wanted to get aquainted.. maybe i should have spoken to him but i just looked at him and he refused to even look back.. how sad.
he always has this really sad disappointed look on his face.

I have never thought of this as you have Purple Sofa.
From what I know of him, he probably would be the one needing help but I think he would put the shunning aside if I needed help.
He is really a pretty nice guy and doesn't deserve to be led around by the wbts.

How sad. He always has this really sad disappointed look on his face. I know his wife and anyone married to her will never be happy. Her father the Elder managed to earn total dislike from all his children except her.
It is very sad really. Two people in their late 40's and just shuffeling along in the wbts crap as it ruins their lives.

this evening i received an e/mail from pbs thanking me for the information.
they said they will forward my e/mail to the group that analyze programs sent to them for posting.. so at least a few people in this organization will get to learn the true conduct of this cult.. outoftheorg
Yeah Rebel I know this.
However it gives me great pleasure to inform even one person about the wbts and its actions. For me getting this information to even a few people, especially those who could cause this to grow bit by bit is a small battle won for the larger battle going on.
I just love it.

ive been reading this forum for a long time, but this new situation has come up and now it looks like i need your help.
i thought i dodged a bullet.
my wife and i were both jws, and we both left it together.
Well Gary beat me to saying what I would of.
The only thing I can add is this. When we leave the jw's religious group, "actually a cult" we are leaving a cult who claim to be the happiest people on earth.
When in fact they are the most unhappy, unsatisfied, CONFUSED, people with no social abilities.
So no wonder you are confused and unhappy, not pleased with your life, that is the usual life of a jw.
When you left the jw's it is like a divorce. You both lose your identities. If you were born and raised in the jw's you have no former personality to return to. If you joined as young adults you are lucky in that you have that former personality to return to.
I strongly advise that you seek out a psychologist together to work this out.
If you can't afford it, the state has programs that you can get help from.
I also suggest you read Gary's posts several times over.

looking at this chart i can't help but notice that pre-1984 the growth statistics were extremely erratic.
then, all of the sudden in 1984 the growth statistics calmed down and have ever since fallowed a much more stable trend.
it's almost a straight line after 1984.. so what happened?
I think it was some time in the 1980's that the baptismal wording was changed if my memory serves me.
Before our dedication was to Jehovah and Christ then it changed to include "we became members of the wbts" a rather clever legalistic move.
I remember the strange feeling I had at that moment because my daughter was getting baptised and this change disturbed me.
But like the true jw fool I stuffed all those thoughts in the mental recycle bin.
Might this have had some effect on the numbers?? I don't know.

that's what my wife said to me the night before last.
i was making an observation about the way my family and other jws in my life are constantly trying to get me to go to a meeting or read an awake, but they never want to sit down and address the questions i have raised to them.
she then asked me why i can't just move on.
From what I have read on this forum and seen and experienced in my own life.
Quite often there are other problems either small or large and the jw wife or husband disagreeing on religious issues just exacerbates the relationships problems and is used as the final reasons for anger or divorcing.
I think that if person can identify these other issues and heal them, then show genuine affection and love for the other, with gifts and kindness and true love. Sort of the way they were treated when you courted them. That there is a higher possibility of success.
If we can convince them that they are truly loved and that they have meaning for us and that they are important in our life by showing love and surprise dates and time alone, always avoiding any conversation about the wbts until all other issues are healed may work.
It is difficult to get angry with some one we know truly loves us. Accept that this is going to be a long long process and needs effort.
Always make it known that you love and care for and will never leave your children or your mate.

stories of real families to humanize jehovah's witnesses.
My purpose in e mailing pbs is not to stop this so called documentary. It is to make the people that run pbs aware that there is another side to this cult. That there are many that were hurt by this cult.
That there is a great number of people who are not being represented in "Knocking".
That this "knocking" is an attempt to "use" pbs to run a program that supports a particular cult masquerading as a christian religion.
About premature action (o so boring), being frowned on in this democracy, check out the republicans and the democrats.
Democracy actually favours any kind of action that is legal to get ones opinions across the earlier the better.

There are several words and phrases in this promotion that are unique to jw's.
This is a blatant attempt to promote the wbts jw's using the pbs system to promote a cult that is dangerous to the public.
I went to the pbs site and sent them a letter "e mail" using the pedophile and shunning results and how it destroys families as a way to show pbs that this is a dangerous cult. NOT a christian religion.
Reminding them of their duty as a teaching organization does not allow them to promote a religion and even more so, not a cult. That they are actually promoting a dangerous cult.
We need to bombard pbs with letters and or e mails to make some impression of the amount of viewers that object to this project.
