Thank you Anony Mous. I can't believe the details they keep on people - it's sickening that they force people to sit in a little room and tell them intimate details of their lives.

I want to release the motherload
by Anony Mous ini have collected and assembled hundreds of letters, documents, publications, personal communications, e-mails from the branch etc.
etc.. my original intent was to make some type of searchable database but my time has been taken over by more important things in life for me.
i don't care about the jw's all that much anymore and who or what gets what information i don't really care.

I have listed 10 facts I have learned coming on this site, please feel free to add yours
by smiddy ini would like to list 10 facts i have learned since coming on this site ,facts i wasn`t aware of while in the movement and facts that have set me free from a religous movement that really is not interested in facts per se.. these are not listed in order of importance , and feel free to add your own list that applys to your circumstances.
1.the wtb&ts involvement with the u.n.. 2.the wtb&ts investments/shares some of which are questionable.. 3.their real estate properties around the world, millions if not billions, of $$$, while being a not for profit organization.
4.their pretense of obeying the law on" blood" while conveniently adjusting it to minimise their legal obligations in threat of a lawsuit.

- I learned that I was in a cult.
- Apostates are regular people leading normal lives.
- Corrupt Elders are all over the country.
- There are others that hated field service as much as me.
- The Governing Body is a group of sexually repressed old men.
- I learned about the inner workings of elder meetings and judicial committees
- I learned a lot of the history of the humble beginnings of the JWs to the soul-sucking, bloated corporation it is today
- I also am happy to learn from reading other experiences that people are "waking up" and leaving the JWs no matter how long they have been in the cult or how involved they were.

She jumped off the dam...
by TimeBandit inback in 2003/4 when i was living in truth or consequences, new mexico there was this sister and her non witness husband that moved into our area.
it was plain to see that the sister was suffering from serious mental problems.
she was a very nice lady, but was unstable a lot of the time.

Someone close to me committed suicide so reading about stories like this always break my heart. I am so glad that there are people in the world who can recognize when others need help and try to reach out. Sometimes it isn't enough tragedy happens. Women are always treated like second class citizens in the WTS especially ones with non-Witness husbands. Elders like Ted make me sick. At least now Patricia isn't suffering anymore.

I actually loved field service
by gubberningbody inthat might seem odd, but it really suited my personality.
even before i became a jw i was annoying people with personal questions.
the thing is that it's sort of ok in normal land to do that as a cult member, but not as a "normal citizen".. .

I did not enjoy service at all. I always felt like I was imposing on people. The territory was so overworked that some houses were getting visits once a week. I was out in a very Italian/Catholic territory so most people were not happy to see us. Service also cost me a lot of money because the drivers would expect gas money and with the constant coffee breaks things got very expensive.

I played field hockey in high school and caught hell for it even though I wasn't baptised. It used to really irk me that playing sports was taboo but spending hundreds of dollars to go watch football or baseball was alright. There were even a few elders who hosted wild Super Bowl parties and no one thought twice about it.
