our friend, oompa, has passed away.
just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
Sorry to read about Oompa. I had a friend who committed suicide 15 years ago due to severe depression. I still think about him often and wish he were still here. I hope the JWs ho helped turn Oompa's world inside out feel remorse or some twinge of regret.
Anyone out there considering suicide, please get help. Your friends, family and any other people in your life never really will get over it and they'll always feel guilty for not having done enough.

So greateful that you made and posted the video. People need to see the idiocy and blind devotion practiced by the elders. You managed to stay calm and use their own scriptures against them and still they tried to stonewall you by changing the subject or outright claiming that certain scriptures don't apply to your situation.
As for your ex wife's accusations, I kno how that feels. My ex husband lied to everyone in and around my old congreagation. They now shun my baptized mother because he told them that she still talks to me. It's a hateful judgemental cult and I thank whatever god there is that I got out.
Stay strong in your beliefs and be ready for when your children wake up and quit being slaves to the Watchtower.

it is not a huge surprise and i am not afraid nor "shaking in my boots", however i will admit it is stressful right now.

My Dad watched it on TV with his family. I remember watching the reruns with my family. We went to the theater to see all the movies. Star Trek was a big part of our family gorwing up.

I really hate how the dubs will turn on you the instant you start questioning things or say something they don't like. I didn't attend my meeting when I DA'd. You have a lot of courage to go to that meeting. Don't let them get you down. You will be free soon and in a much better position to help your children as they get older.

back in the late 80s when i was at brooklyn he would dress in a suit, have a book bag, and come and stand in front of the 124 bldg or sometimes over by the towers hotel.
he'd easily put in auxillary pioneer hours.

obviously here in canada, the go to coffee stop is tim horton's, for the most part that is.
but what about in other countries, where did/do you all go for coffee breaks when needing a way to somewhat enjoy your service time?.
Many car groups went to Tim Hortons until they left New England. Bess Eaton, Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's were popular choices too.
