I visited with some JW relatives who are in their late 60's a few weeks ago. They had been studying their WT for the weekend, and the sister said, "Another study with scriptures sited that there is no way that if you just read the bible you can get their interpretation". I thought this interesting.

Anthony Morris : What's the matter with you?

Publisher in hospital: I... I guess I... I guess, the doctor say's it's cancer.

Anthony Morris: What did you say?

Publisher in hospital: It's terminal cancer, I can't even get out of bed, it's only a matter of days or hours.

Anthony Morris: *Cancer*? Well, hell, you're just a God-damned coward.

[Publisher with terminal cancer starts sniveling ]

Anthony Morris: [ Slaps him, once forehanded, then backhanded on the rebound ]

Anthony Morris: Shut up! I won't have a yellow bastard sitting here *crying* in front of these brave men who have been wounded in battle!

[Publisher snivels some more, and Anthony Morris swings a vicious forehand slap, knocking his bookbag over ]

Anthony Morris: *Shut up!*

[ to the doctors ]

Anthony Morris: Don't admit this yellow bastard. There's nothing wrong with him. I won't have sons-of-bitches who can't turn in time stinking up this place of honor!*

[ to publisher ]

Anthony Morris: You're going back to the territory, my friend. You may get shot, and you may get killed, but you're going back to the territory. Either that, or I'm going to stand you up in front of a firing squad. I ought to shoot you myself, you god-damned... bastard! Get him out of here!

[ pulls his service automatic. At that, the doctors leap forward and hustle the soldier out of the tent. Anthony Morris keeps shouting at the publishers back ]

Anthony Morris: Take him out to the territory! You hear me? You God-damned coward!

[ Takes deep breath ]

Anthony Morris: I won't have cowards in my organization. They must turn in time until they are dead, did you hear me?

After a family member recently sent us an assembly notebook for taking notes, I read again over the talks and symposiums. I can't believe that a speaker could get up and give the following talks with a straight sincere face.

God's Congregation, "A Pillar and Support of the Truth" After all the manipulation of facts and outright devious articles printed by WT, God's congregation is a pillar and support of the truth? Are they going to introduce another organization????

Believe "INSPIRED TRUTH" Not Inspired Error. After130 years snipe hunting Watchtower's "inspired truth" that ended up "inspired error" and they want to make out like the chase is brand new???

Reject what is False??? "The false stylus"??? Or should it be, Reject what is False, "The False Printing Press", Well most of here have rejected what is false, but using the scripture from Jeremiah 8:8,9 saying, “‘How can YOU men say: “We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us”? Surely, now, the false stylus of the secretaries has worked in sheer falsehood. 9 The wise ones have become ashamed.

Doesn't this scripture not describe the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society???? I can't believe their audacity! What hypocrites'! I say that the new GB member that brags about being a cobler should admit that the shoe fits.

it's kind of long but tell us what you think....it was all i could do to stop myself from making a snarky comment.

I read your post the other day and found similarities with this story found on my facebook page. It's like you could take the story below and substitute Jw lingo and have something to tell at the Assembly. LOL I have joked before about having a website for stories and illustrations.

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. "Your son is here," she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the pat ient's eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused.

Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients. Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her, "Who was that man?" he asked.

The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.

"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"

"I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed. I came here tonight to find a Mr. William Grey. His Son was killed in Iraq today, and I was sent to inform him. What was this Gentleman's Name? "

The nurse with tears in her eyes answered, "Mr. William Grey........."

The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay.

Medical marijuana and the congregation

i do not know if anyone has ever asked this question before.. if you live in a state where it is legal to smoke marijuana with a prescription, will the congregation take any action against a member of it that smokes it?

i imagine that they wouldn't disfellowship anyone, but it may not make the person eligible for priveleges.. has there been any letter from hq to the boes about it?.

i am just curious.. zed.

I think that it all depends on your elders and how much they like to micromanage the flock and how much trouble they want to stir up. Marvin's comment about xanax reminds me of two elders corning a brother about drinking alcohol at a wedding because they knew he took anti-depressants. He told them to mind their own business, and that they were not doctors. You can't make this crap up.
