Welcome, count yourself fortunate; I think its better not to have so long a story than what some of us have to deal with.

I'm new here
by WrongweektostopsniffingGlue ini haven't got much of a story.
i'm in my late teens, grew up in it, and got out of the society's regime by the skin of my teeth.
nearly go baptized because i firmly did believe it was the "truth" but because of a gut feeling that held me back, that i almost ignored, i didn't sign my blood to big brother.

Sorry about what you are going through.
I had to deal with a "Snake" and his wifie some years back when they were disturbing the peace in the congregation lashing out at many. He was eventually removed as PO then as an elder, he moved to another congregation immediately and we wrote a letter not recommending him and he got appointed within a year. We (elders on the body) later said that if we had known how much trouble this was we would just have moved ourselves because frankly, it wasn't worth what it took.
Bottom line is that WTBTS doesn't want kind, gentle, Christlike elders. They want company men that will keep the rank and file in line. It seems the meaner you are and the more fear you spread in the congregation the more parts on the DC program you get.

"When you get laied off you qualify for unemployment compensation, these folks get NOTHING. But at least they have the holy spirit."
Correct, and they will have to work for 5 to 6 quarters to qualify for unemployment. They also did not have the WTBTS paying social security in, because they signed a vow of poverty. So better get busy.

Did you have someone that annoys you at every meeting?
by Iamallcool inat every meeting and every assembly i went to, a sister would always ask me "how are you?

" she says it with a gloomy face every time!

The older sister that thinks she should have been an opera singer. She stands in the next row back and sings really loud and holds the notes longer than everyone else.

"Church officials have touted the economic impact of the project, which is expected to host 40 two-day events each year. The estimated total attendance is expected to be 190,000 visitors a year, with each person spending an estimated $66 per day."

My story in short
by DeWandelaar ini am visiting this site for quite some time now and now i think it is time to tell something about me and my experience.
without giving away my name (i am in "fade mode"): i am from the small country they call the netherlands, the land of wooden shoes, tulips, cheese and too many inhabitants per square meter.
i am married with children and a second generation jw.

DeWandelaar thank you for your story. It is interesting when you get away from JW's that life gets more peaceful. May you have peace like a river:)

New member says hey
by jay dubless ini have lurked now and then, just decided to join.. my older brother and i were raised by our jw mom, but our dad was a non-practicing catholic.
so we went to the hall, but were considered "weak" witnesses, since our family still celebrated xmas and birthdays, to appease my dad i suppose.
as a kid, i loved these holidays.. anyways, when my brother was 17 (i was 13), he spent a few weeks with our cousins in ky, who are all gung-ho j-dubs, and upon his return, he decided he was going to be more "theocratic".

Sorry about your Mom, at least she didn't break her hip.
You just need to go out in the service and make sure you make all the meetings, and you will be happy. LOL. With your changing circumstances, "Have you thought about putting your pioneer application in." It's just a few hours a day!

How do you copy the picture of the pirates off the magazine?

Thanks
