  a lot of my ex fellow servants must be now in their seventies, what can you do?.

  no children no money no home.

  it is so sad.. so many decided not to have children as the end was right around the corner and that was decades ago.

  your if you were in, you would be approached for $ reminded me of a "sister" I took pity on and tried to help. She was sick and we went to visit and all her and the daughter's clothes and other laundry were in bags-dirty. I took it all home and washed, dried, folded it. She had no money, so every Sunday after meeting I brought her home with me along with the dirty clothes so she could do laundry. I came to realize she had mental issues ( she was brilliant in many ways and the best beautician but couldn't keep it together- happy one minute and screaming about something the next.)and told her she should try to get Social Security. ( she did and got it faster than anyone I ever knew.) So she got the disabiltiy and I also learned her parents gave her money and a car, etc. So I told her now that she had income, I would like a little money to pay for the use of washer and dryer ( way less than a laundry mat would charge.) Along about that time, she had fallen in my house and sued my insurance and bought herself a new washer and dryer, but as this all ran together, she took me before the brothers because I was greedy and wouldn't continue to let her do laundry free. So there are those with their hand out ready to use you. I was willing to help someone, not take them raise!

  You needlessly took offense. No one is pestering you that I know of. The Bible says if you don't work, you don't eat. It doesn't encourage not working. But some fell on hard times and were to be looked after James 1:27 The form of worship that is clean and undefilied from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world. See also 1 Tim chapter 5. 1-10. The point I was actually trying to make is people were/are encouraged to give up the education and jobs and work for ( they are told Jehovah) the organization full time but the organization has no plan in place to take care of them... they age out so to speak and have nothing to show for their years...You are correct...that system doesn't work...it uses people up and reassigns them to the mercy of the world. There may be some who the WT pays a bit...Does anyone know how all of that works...I just know that some who sold out and went to work at bethel, were quickly dismissed when their health failed...they came back to the mercy of others who would help them. Nothing fair about any of it.

  I know a sister who married an older circuit overseer. she pioneered...in her 70's and nothing for her...she isn't well...gets the least SSI as near as I could learn about. What I understand from the Bible is Widows were to be looked after by the congregations if they had good reputation. If people fall on hard times, they are told to go to their relatives or to social services. I also understood a local retired CO gets some monthly money from the WT which he doesn't need and returns...- why wouldn't he think to give it to this sister in need? He knew of her circumstances.the congregations don't really take care of their own...it is lip service when they say they do. the service group overseer told me if I needed anything to let them know. They barely knew my name...they didn't know I had a husband, let alone that he had died.

  having been a victim of this practice twice, i thought i would see if others had the same experience.

  on one occassion, i was before the elders being told i was drunk on a certain day at a certain time.

  ( this was only brought up because when i was pushing for a meeting because of elder mr x adultery , i was threatened somethings would be brought out about me if i persued the meeting.

  Exactly! and that didn't happen...Here is a worse true story: a pioneer sister was being accused of causing contentions in the congregationbecause of some conversation if the service. She asked to be told who these people were. Elder Mr X told me there was going to be a meeting with her because she wanted to know who all was speaking against her. If I had anything against that sister, I should go to the meeting and tell it...to which I replied The worst I had ever seen of her she called someone an ass.(and yes, he did report that comment in the roasting they gave her ) Anyway, she was surprised at the people who showed up to speak against because the elders had put out an invitation. They roasted her...Her elder husband who tried to defend her was threatened with loosing his privilege. They moved an hour away to another congregation where they were spied on and hounded. I don't remember is she disassociated or was df...at anyrate, her husband started seeing and doing odd things and accusing her of adultery.( she claimed unfounded) They divorced.

Mr x knew where the lie came from but would never say. Another time I was invited into the back room- I was informed I had been shacking up in a motel 1.5 hours away...( some sisters told this and they would not give me the names of these liars! ( I would have had them eat their words ) another sister told me these ones were just waiting for the annoucement I was DF. Anyway, why is it allowed you can be accused of wrong doing, but you are not allowed to know the name of your cowardly lieing accusers?

  How far do we get away from 1914

  how far do we get away from 1914 before they have a new light and admit it was all wrong?.

  they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .

  with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.

  in my phone in "meeting" when I disassociated- I learned from elder that God's time table is different from ours, so that generation who saw 1914 has not passed away--so whatever story that works to keep yourself in blinders.

  our family was always a topic on a local needs talk.

  but it was funny when the brothers needed money they would come with their hands out.

  this is when we lived in the states.

  there was a talk about women being independant because they had means ( although poor in this case ) to provide for themselves. The husband is pushed out and leaves. I think I still have the recording from 1997 or so....Anyway, I think it was designed to be about me....but the shoe didn't fit...others must have thought so from the way I was treated in general. If you are invited to sit in the back room, you are told to keep your mouth shut about what is discussed. Mr X brought home STD so I told him the 25 year gig was up! ( Oct and gone in Dec.) In the meantime, Elder husband was patted on the back and told he had done nothing wrong when he informed them he wanted to step down...He was telling me this on the way home from the meeting and I told him if the congregation knew he had given me an STD they wouldn't want him conducting theWT. He did quit in spite of the pats on the back. I was visited by 2, being told I slandered him when I told an old "friend" in a congregation 1.5 hours away of my issues. ( I had been told to keep my mouth shut!) So the sister 1.5 hours away told her daughter 12 hours away, who told a local sister, who told the elder's wife, who told her husband.-so I slandered and wasn't allowed to work with the RBC anymore. Mr. was allowed to do anything he wanted to do. When I tell you he was patted on the back, it was crazy...I was being ignored and grunted at by others. This happened twice: he went from WV to NC to live. He came back a couple of times and came to the last minutes of the meeting. He stood in the door way between auditorium and foyer. Most in the congregation stood in a reception line ( like wedding guest ) to greet him, hug him, shake hands, pat on the back. A sad commentary! In another congregation about an hour away, the story was going around I chased him off because I wanted another fellow! So lesson learned: in another meeting about a concern I had, I was told to keep my mouth shut and I said my experience was if you didn't tell your story, others would make up and spread lies about you. ( it took me writing 2 letters to the Branch to get it recognised I had scriptual grounds for divorce. and I will also add, when I went to the judial meeting with Mr X, I was surprised at the outright lies that came out of Elder's mouths.

  in 1972, i was 25 years old following a strong impulse carrying me 1,500 miles.. i intended to find him - my dad.

  he’d left when i was about half a year old.. his home in detroit, michigan had been the first house i lived in at age zero.. i knocked on his door and he answered.

  description of the Mother reminded me of Johnny Depp's testimony...and his mild mannered father eventually left the home. It was a sad commentary how the mother treated the Depp family.

    I dont remember if it was a convention part or update but they flat out said Jehovah gave us the vaccine.

    For some of us the threat to withhold privileges doesn't work.

  this privileged system is emotional blackmail...it is to let you know and others know you aren't good enough if you can't obtain to some privilege.( so work harder for the WT and impress those MEN ! for example: Mr X had hurt feelings because he wasn't even allowed to carry a mic (that being said, he really was rather shady, but had feelings never the less. In a recent convention video, a "brother" feels left out because he doesn't get invited to distribute food...he feels slighted, judged...the privilege system is DEMEANING, not loving.
