truth-be-known...the one with the pig reminded me of a talk about pioneering given at a circuit assembly...Speaker said that we were all executives, but the pioneers were a higher class of executive. So I went up to the speaker later and ask him if his illustration was in the outline and he said it wasn't. ( but given those talks are rehearsed in front of others, it got approved. I was thinking how depressing for some to be told they weren't as good as pioneers

Virgin or whore complex that Witnesses have made my married life difficult!
by Witness 007 inso was a virgin when i got married but my wife studied later in life and had been married for 6 months and had two boyfriends in her past.
my strict witness mother hated my wife and thought she was not good enough for me.
she thought all worldly women were dirty whores who cannot keep their vaginas to themselves.

Funny ( or not ) story. There was a brother in a congregation I was in who bipolar and had issues...He was a brilliant odd duck. He wanted to get married. He asked one of the older sisters if she knew any nice virgins that he might be introduced to...He said he didn't want somebody elses "has beens".

Bullied At School
by Lost in the fog injust curious about the rest of you.
i was bullied quite badly throughout my school years because of being a witness and not participating in religious holidays, sporting celebrations, assembly (worship), and the like.. it was mostly from other pupils but there were a couple of teachers who definitely treated me badly.
that was back when uk teachers still caned pupils or were allowed to hurl the heavy wooden blackboard duster across the room at them.... i still have ptsd flashbacks on some of those events even after 50 years!

I heard a story where a witness boy did stand for the flag ( can't remember it well enough to know if he said the pledge or not. ) another witness kid ratted him out and his Elder dad gave the kid a severe beating. ( so it wasn't only what was endured at school, but maybe even in the home.) So the kid who got the beating never liked the kid who ratted on him. I was told this story years ago by the kid who did the ratting out.

DisillusionedJW I thought of those scriptures you mentioned...the text the use to shun those who disassociate often doesn't apply. Many haven't been immoral in any way, and many uphold the teachings of Jesus Christ. They just recognise the lies the WT published and spoke out.

I had another thought...they don't like themselves and have to take it out on someone else. The reason they don't like themselves is they know they are doing something they feel they shouldn't be doing. They are likely into more than just looking at "apostate" sites.

vanderhoven- this last post made me think of something to ask someone who is shunning : if Jesus would here, do you think he would speak to me? ( after all, as you mentioned, he spoke with Satan.) Given the right opportunity, I am going to pose the question.
