a thought I had: a boy is chosen over the mother who raised him...if he has good conduct, wasn't that likely due to ( in case of a single mother) a woman's instruction? And how is this chosen boy to get to the meetings a bit earlier ( in some cases his mother ) And what sensible man is going to think his boy is more capable than his wife? If you really think about it, it is all horrid, but the sheeple will just be so proud to be the parent of a boy who may be selected. ( if they were smart, they wouldn't give permission, but then if they were smart, they would wake up to the nonsense spewed out by their 9 headed god.)

Trump assassination attempt??
by Diogenesister init happened at a rally in pennsylvania, apparently.
he seems ok i've seen a photo of him bleeding from his ear.
this is absolutely nutso....if it's too it doesn't surprise me the way they constantly describe him as "far right" and that his supporters are "maga republicans".

excuse me, but how does one get around "put Trump in the bullseye" not mean for someone to kill him? What does one think of when the term bullseye is used? He certainly didn't mean it literally. It doesn't mean they should focus on Trump as an opponent-that was already happening. I personally believe it to be a preconceived "code" for to execute a tentative plan that was in place. Then, they can play innocent and say there is never any call for violence-but put Trump in the bullseye was literally a call for violence against him ....IMO

Members of congregation know it’s not true

Rattigan, are you kidding us? since you asked, the GB claim to be substitutes for Christ and the Voice of Christ.
They claim they are the way to truth and life and if you aren't in with them, then you can't get to know God. All of this is hubris to say the least. Jesus said, he was the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him (JESUS) and not the lying GB. What they teach of themselves is really in direct conflict with Jesus words. Anyone who reads the Bible and thinks for themselves will get to see through the WT fog and foolery.
What to do with staying in the congregation: The people are fooled and believe the lies. They think they can't know about God or know truth or get to live without their 9 headed god.

JW Leaders Do Intentionally Torture Their Members

notformer, I never thought of your angle about them finding enjoyment in regard to the suffering they cause others, but now that you have drawn attention to that possibliity, I think you are correct. They like to point out how others have been faithful to Jehovah in regards to certains things when it wasn't something Jehovah ever required to start with, even though the rank and file may have suffered physically , emotionally, or economically. They use these one as good examples to shame the others in the congregation who aren't following suit.

First Tim 2:12 is where, Paul wrote ( some have concluded Paul didn't write that book ) " I do not permit ( allow, suffer ) women to teach...exercise authority over men......
I find this interesting because He writes " I."...in the old testament women were prophetess and judges. Were they not teaching and having authority? If God didn't change, what's up? When Paul was writng to Timothy, was that just his opinion? In 1 Cor 7: 8,9,10 he gives marital advice, some of which is his own opinion, even writing he basically had no need of women.
Ps 68:11 women telling good news a large army. ( What? are they not also speaking to/teaching men? ) ( so you think, yes, but not in congregations --but they met in people's homes. So if a women is teaching several in a Home bible study, could one not conclude she is teaching a congregation? I had another thought about women not teaching in the congregation: they actually do/have done it indirectly: their school assignments teach others good or bad by example. If their husband's talk wasn't specially outline, it was often the wife who did the reseach and wrote up the talk for the husband or their sons. Barbara Anderson was a researcher for the writers of the WT...so was she really not an indirect teacher in the congregation?
If one took Paul's words to timothy at full value, a women would keep her mouth shut and net even comment at meetings. And she would ask her husband things she wanted clarified which isn't so likely as often the women are intelligent enough to get it even when the men don't.
another thought: if women were to be silent in the congregations, wouldn't that rule out singing praises to God?

Whereas the Bible does say women are to be silent in the congregation, does that give cause for boys to rank higher than women? The Bible talks about Jesus being with his earthly family and being in subjection to them. Yep, in some countries, the swine are treated better than the women.

JE-sus making a comeback at the 2024 Convention
by dropoffyourkeylee inattended the friday sesson of the 2024 summer convention.. july 5, 2024 summer convention crowd photo; they invited quite a lot of empty chairs.. .
the facility usually has 5500-6500. they spun it saying that fewer congregations were assigned.
there were 6 of the smaller, more distant sections blocked off with tarps to lessen cleaning, which i understand.

I have a thought about the more focus on Jesus. "Apostate" sites are being monitored. Many who left the JW have "found Jesus". So, what if a JW should accidently/or on purpose wonder into one of these sites? Nothing to see here, we believe in Jesus. So their curiosity and critical thinking gets shut down. At anyrate, whatever reason, they are promoting Jesus, it is for the corporated end and not the rank and file-because JESUS has been in the Bible all along. Think about this, when we were IN, if somebody said at the door, you don't believe in Jesus, we would say that we did. It was our conversation stopper so to speak.
On one hand we were taught about Jesus and on the other, his life's sacrifice was only for the annointed and it was so cleverly disguised that we didn't pick up on it. I am willing to wager, that disguise won't go away...but the rank and file will THINK they know Jesus. Think about the books we studied about the life of Jesus. We thought we knew something about Jesus and yet the most important aspect was hidden from us and we literally passed over his sacrifice at the memorial.

I Visited Auschwitz Two Days Ago
by Sea Breeze inauschwitz concentration camp in poland may not seem like a very happy vacation spot to visit.
but, if you have a home, a family and your freedom - you will be far less likely to take these things for granted after visiting.
we made the sobering decision to make the 2.5 hr.

ukpimo, you should research how the WT tried to solidify with Hitler and when that didn't work out to suit them, they "poked the bear". https://jwfacts.com/watchtower/hitler-nazi.php

I was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters. ; and I thought the JW were raising a bunch of misogynist. Would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women. I remember a sister covering her head to pray because her young son was baptized. The last congregation I was in, there was a brother who would always scold his wife because he said she ran ahead of him. Well, she had to or they would have been hungry and on the streets. She would get physically sick and have to go to bed for days because of his ( at least ) verbal abuse. Some of these guys idea of headship is letting their wives work, but the guys get to buy themselves big boy toys. So what take do you all have on this subject. Maybe you have firsthand experience with young baptized boys in the home. Maybe you have had a husband who felt so important he couldn't see past his own head.
