I thought of this today. When I first told a certain person I didn't believe the GB were the faithful slave, that person told me I was spiritually sick....even bought me flowers. I threw the vase away because I couldn't look at it without thinking how I was judged spiritually sick. I decided to do a quick search ( in JWorg ) Bible to see if the words spiritually sick or weak show up together in a Bible verse . I didn't go through all the pages where the word sick or sickness or weak showed up, but enough for me to be satisfied that the Bible doesn't use the term spiritually weak or sick together--but feel free to correct me if you know of a verse. It occurred to me it is a term the JW use in a judgmental way. I know they like the use the term to justify the way they hold judicial meetings ( James 5:14- which I always thought was referring to a literal illness. ) I just thought I would throw this out there. There is a lot of information in the literature about spiritual sickness and i couldn't find the term in the Bible. -

Exercise Patience Regional Convention
by Rattigan350 inthe theme of the in person convention this year is "exercise patience".
looking at the convention map, they are really using their assembly halls and they are using smaller civic centers or city arena.
no more huge stadiums.. are they not expecting a great crowd?

I got off on a rant...I wanted to adress the be patient! Maybe this is a sag-way into dealing with the 1914 that sooner or later they will have to deal with.

They have a set charge per person for those conventions, only the rank and file don't know it. I used to wonder why there was always a deficit at the Assembly Hall I helped to build. The pitch for building it was how much we would save over renting a building ( school or national guard gym in my case ) so it wouldn't cost the friends as much to go to the assemblies. So we had 4.5 hour drives to the assembly hall and there was always a deficit...I wondered more when I learned they sold off enough of the land around to have the building paid for. So even if they use the assembly halls, they will make money as they won't be paying any rent. After learning what really goes on, it makes you wonder how some "honest" brother could get up and proclaim a deficit. The Society gets all the money-because first off they agree to send X amount to the society...Just a bunch of scam artist. They really should just tell the people that the admission is X amount instead of pulling the con. ( yes you can go sit for free, but they will guilt someone into paying for your seat.)

Ruining the Earth2.0
by peacefulpete infew years ago i did a thread that i hope has helped some folks.
maybe it is time to 'recycle' it.. did the writer of rev 11:18 (ruin those who ruin the earth) somehow anticipate the modern environmental situation, or did he intend something more in keeping with the bible's general concerns of morality and sin?.
secondly, how does the context help to interpret it?.

raymond franz, you mention the last 3.5 year of GT...where do you get that point of view from...I have seen videos where people mention 7 years of tribulation, and I don't know where that comes from either. On another note, I thought of those who ruined the earth as to a physical ruination to make it virtually uninhabitable ( water, air, soil pollution ) which is problematic as we all contribute to that in a way. I surely don't have a safe way to Neutralize the plastic that comes in the grocery packaging that I use; but we know it is detrimental. The thought of Satan and the fallen angels is viable IMO, but so is the moral ruination, and so is the making of earth inhabitable-thinkiing of things I watched about Mr Gates wanting to block the sun and the planned pumping of carbon dioxide down into the ground . If one believes the Bible, it is good to know there is a plan to keep the earth from total ruin...because right now it seems to me it is well on the way to ending life without intervention-an intervention that man doesn't seem capable of. The powers that be do use many scare tactics to try to get to control the rest of the population. The WEF want to reduce carbon footprint, yet they gather in in their fancy planes and cars-rather hypocritical!

While I don`t believe the Bible about GOD or other religions about a GOD ,I do wonder ?
by smiddy3 ini do wonder about the universe as we know it .
it does boggle my mind ,and how such a variety of life does exist on this planet ,from the microscopic to the most advanced life forms.. in such an abundance .?.
and then looking out there in the universe the multitudes of stars like our sun and planets exist that we have no knowledge of boggles my mind .. so ,maybe i am spiritual in some sense..

what am I to take from this? That those who don't believe in God think that this life isn't all there is after all?

BluesBrother...here is why I thought it scandalous! ( though scandal in some sense may have not been the right word) As I understand it, the fund was for the living who had survived- "restitution of survivors" So here we have a rich organization endeavoring to get monies that was for individual survivors. They didn't get it, but the fact they tried to is abhorrent and scandalous from where I am sitting. ( and how would that money, if granted, have been monitored?) The WTBST has published information, including a video ( Purple Triangles ) without having to take "restitution of survivors" -so it isn't like they needed it. ....so an illustration, howbeit a poor one. Let's say your house burnt down...you were injured in the fire and lost everything, including family members. You are disabled, homeless, and heartbroken. A group of kind people take up a large collection for you--and after all, you are in need! When the kind people go to give you the money, they find your rich brother wants your allocated money so he can devote time to write stories about your house fire and your personal tragedy...without giving any thought to the fact that YOU are in need.

An Elder's Letter, dated February 1, 2001 referred to the Jehovah's Witness Holocaust-Era Survivors Fund Inc, explaining that the fund was being set up to assist gather money for Jehovah's Witnesses that were eligible for the payment.
Whilst this appears at face value to be commendable, Watchtower was also requesting money for itself.
www.swissbankclaims.com (as of 28th September 2009) contains the 1999 letter from Watchtower to the fund, or Click Here for a PDF copy of the Watchtower application letter. Included is a request to receive a portion of the funds on the following basis.
"Some Witnesses died prematurely and left no heirs to make a claim to the Swiss Bank Settlement Fund. However, the legacy of spiritual resistance that they left behind is of great value in the education of future generations about the importance of standing up for the dignity and value of human life. Representing these individuals, the Watch Tower would be pleased devote any allocated moneys solely to the interests of Holocaust education and the remembrance of the prisoners who bore the purple triangle, according as the court might stipulate."
It is disturbing that Watchtower requested money that could have been distributed to living victims, for what would by nothing more than self promotion of their organisation.
It appears that Watchtower did not receive any money from the fund. A statement of distribution as of 31 December 2015 stated:
"Inadmissibility decisions were claims that the CRT determined to be ineligible to participate in the Deposited Assets Class process. Under the terms of the Settlement Agreement, only the accounts of "Victims or Targets of Nazi Persecution" were payable from the Settlement Fund (with the exception of Slave Labor Class II, which was open to all Nazi victims). The Settlement Agreement defines "Victims or Targets of Nazi Persecution" as those who were, or were perceived to be, Jewish, Romani, Jehovah's Witness, disabled, or homosexual. Neither the CRT nor the Court had the authority to address Deposited Assets Class claims asserted on behalf of account owners who were not “victims or targets” as defined under the Settlement Agreement." See swissbankclaims.com/Documents/Distribution%20Stats.pdf or Distribution Stats.
Individual Jehovah's witnesses did receive compensation, as part of the tens of thousands classified as "non-Jewish victims (Roma, Jehovah's Witness, disabled and homosexual)."

by enoughisenough inmaybe this has been discussed in the past and i wasn't here... what do you think?
are the gb members knowingly pulling a con, or do they have delusions of grandeur?
i will go out on a limb here to say that i think they are con artist.

"Do we know who is really running things?" I think it is some "worldly" organization pulling puppet strings.

When is the time to say the GB were wrong about the jabs?
by Indoubtbigtime init’s now becoming obvious more and more by the day that everyone was wrong about these vaccines being a good thing to take.. when will rank and file realise the governing body were so wrong to push them so hard saying jehovah helped get 99% of special full time servants fully vaccinated?.
its something we are all afraid to talk about.
we can’t say the words the governing body were wrong????????.

indoubtbigtime, I think it was in the July 22 study article where it is being stated how Jesus directed them as to how to handle the pandemic. So one could fall back on the paragraph or that video on the convention where the fellow is being coerced or the update video where they are saying "what does Jehovah know...." ...have that handy on your phone/tablet for quick reference and Then you could say something like, "I don't get it...why would Jesus direct and continue to direct the faithful slave to encourage us to take these jabs that are proven to kill and injure? You haven't said anything against the GB ( blame it on Jesus! or Jehovah!) Well, the obvious answer is Jesus wouldn't...so hopefully that would help people question the claim of GB being faithful slave.
