waton...a lot of text in that video ...she shows the interlinear word for word from Bible Hub to show that the NWT translated 2 different Greek words covenant. One in Luke 22:20 and the other ( Luke22:29 which shouldn't be translated covenant. Then she uses an example in Hebrews. So even if you can't hear it, you can follow the text for the most part. There is other info as well.

things shelved, not looked into because of group think
by enoughisenough inhere are some things i never really believed the jw taught...i just didn't really examine it closely.
i shelved it, so to speak, thinking no one is perfect and they know more than me...if i ever thought about it at all.. i never believed that only jws would be spared at armageddon.
i never believed the where in james, you went to the elders to confess being spiritually sick-always thought that referred to a real illness.

LongHairGal " lack of real concern caused these things to be shelved"--you got that ! I think about the overlapping generation thing and how it didn't/doesn't make sense, and yet I didn't give it much concern...it should have been screaming out to me.

Musings About...Spirit Beings
by titch infolks: this topic might seem a little "out there in left field.
" but it might be something to think about, or perhaps it's something that you have wondered about in the past.
i know that i sometimes wondered about it, , even when i was "in" the jw organization.

Seems there is good verses evil in the spirit world as well. Some seem to be stronger than others because in Dan 10: 13 the angel had wanted to come to Daniel but the prince of the royal realm of Persia opposed him for 21 days until Michael came to help him. ( interesting point considering JW teaching-Michael is referred to as "one of the foremost princes" - JW will teach you Michael is Jesus ) So it would appear some spirit creatures like to lord it over nations! ( makes sense if you believe the Bible where Satan showed Jesus the kingdoms of the world. ) I personally do believe there are wicked spirit creatures.

Bait and Switch "Bible studies"
by Vanderhoven7 inmark jones, a witness for over 30 years describes what jws call bible studies offered to the public.. .
"they (jehovah's witnesses) offer you a free home “bible” study - which turns out to be a study of a watchtower publication with the bible brought out as an afterthought to try and prop up whatever current idea the governing body are claiming is “the truth” this week.. i think it’s underhanded.. when my parents became jehovah’s witnesses and they offered people a free home “bible” study, this is what they brought to study with them:.
what, did you think they were going to study the bible with you?.

I never had a Bible study...The family I was marrying into were JW and it was expected of me to get baptized. My spouse and I studied the questions for baptism like questions for a test so we could have the right answers for the elders. I didn't have an issue with it at the time because I had been going to the meetings and felt like I was learning things from the Bible. I had read the Truth book and it seemed logical to me. I will say, this family was a very unprincipled family.

Here are some things I never REALLY believed the JW taught...I just didn't really examine it closely. I shelved it, so to speak, thinking no one is perfect and they know more than me...if I ever thought about it at all.
I never believed that only JWs would be spared at Armageddon. I never believed the where in James, you went to the elders to confess being spiritually sick-always thought that referred to a real illness. I think at one time I bought into the 144,000 remnant having special scriptural insight and therefore making sure all we were being taught was truth...but If I had given it any thought at all, I would have known the present GB are not the faithful slave...in fact, if I had read the Bible and really thought about what I read without the WT filters, I would not have bought into the Faithful Slave at all...because as I read it, that is to happen when Jesus returns and from what I read for myself now, he hasn't returned. What I am saying I never really believed the GB . Also if I had given it deeper thought, I know I never believed the JW to be God's channel for mankind. I never really believed it when we were taught that the New Testament was written only for the 144,000. If I had really read and thought closer about the shunning, I wouldn't have gone along with that group think ( and so some of us are indeed reaping what we sowed-we bought into the JW doctrine and therefore dehumanized others.) There was lots of conjecture written in the books and WT studies that people spent a lot of time commenting on in the studies-I didn't believe those conjectures. Anyway, these things should have been red flags, but I shelved the things I didn't really believe instead of researching. So 50 years down the road, who do I have to blame but myself ? I NEVER thought turning in time was right ( the right hand wasn't to know what the left was doing ) I never believed that everyone should be spending as much time as they could in witnessing because the Bible speaks of God giving different gifts in people. I never believed that pioneers were any more special than the rank and file. If fact James says not to have distinctions among us, but the JW created classes. Had i thought about it, which I didn't, I would have seen that JWs actually teach hated instead of love. They taught us to hate anyone who left the org or who was disfellowshipped and they taught us to look down on "worldly" people. Maybe you shelved a few things that had you paid attention you would have woke up sooner. I may think of more. Reading years ago that Jesus is only the mediator of the 144,000 should have been a red flag. The whole memorial service should have been a red flag--I just went along with the crowd instead of paying attention to what the Bible really was saying.

What those who are studying with JW really need to understand is if after being baptized, they decide to really study the Bible on their own-without the JW library, it is highly discouraged-because they get all they need from the "slave"...if they want to get together in a group and just read the Bible and discuss it, they are likely to be disfellowshipped---that is what happens when they really study. I have watched a video or two where people were removed just because of studying the Bible . If you have a relative you is studying with the witnesses, you miay want to locate some of those videos where people were put out because of independent Bible study. I think Beroen Pickets has one...maybe more.

What's going on in Ohio?
by Bartolomeo inreporter evan lambert arrested by ohio police live on train derailment for doing what big media won't do: ask questions about toxic chemicals that poison water and air.
.
the largest "democracy" in the world that arrests journalists for simple questions.. imagine if it had happened in russia what they would have said.... https://twitter.com/thethe1776/status/1625202284144791552.

the thing in Ohio is tragic...animals are dying....people who go back to their homes are getting sick. Those families need to be removed from the area and put up in housing/motels until it is safe-if that is ever- to return...Someone is responsible -but who? the chemical companies, the rail line, the people who said do the burn to keep from an even worse explosion?

Hiddlewife--it is found in part 2 of the annual meeting posted in feb of 23....hour mark 1:37 start and listen about the resurrection and just after that reading hearts. I don't know how they arrive at that conclusion...save for some aside from Jesus "raised" a dead person...but the reading of hearts!??? They are making themselves into Gods.

Vanderhoven, yep, it's briget! She is quite bold and stumps most all of them...but she is nice about it. I couldn't be so nice.
