They would have to say that the branch informed them
When you move congregations, your new cong gets your personal data from your previous congs' elders, not the branch, through a letter of introduction.
the uk are tightening up their data protection laws to make it easier for individuals to get hold of the information organisations hold on them and to get it deleted.. i think paul grundy (jwfacts) went through this with wt once and found it very time consuming and difficult.. will wt now abide by the law and hand over or permanently delete the records it keeps when requested?it would mean every uk exjw could have their report card info, personal file with age, sex, baptism date, judicial information, appointment/deletion/disfellowshipping dates, letters of disassociation, letters of recommendation when you move, phone number and address permanently removed.
anyone acting for the wt (elders) who retain this information, eg your phone number in their phone or the secretary keeping your historical monthly report details, will be in violation.
failure to comply will incur a fine.. expect a letter to all boe's any time soon explaining why this does not apply to them.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-40826062.

slimboyfat, it appears that wts is going, gone digital.
can you show your view what is wts next move after they are completely gone from kings county and settled in warwick?
- this thread is your if you want it..
to do but unlike FS and meetings no one is watching and no consequences for not donating. It is between him and God.
True. I dont remember reading any testimony or story here where anyone has complained that elders used to hound them for money.
Instead there are many here who themselves have said that they have never put a dime in the contribution box.
Even with the GAA/KHAA, no publisher is forced to give in the per publisher decided amount. It is the secretary who transfers the funds from the contribution box. Even with the perpetual kingdom hall construction donations, each congregation has the freedom to choose how much money they will send, which in many congregations is very less than their usual KH mortgage payments. No one questions it, neither the CO nor the branch.
are they pretty much left alone?
are they respected for their having been elders at one time?
are they treated like crap?.
Most ex-elders are treated the way they themselves used to treat others while being elders
due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.
can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?
would hate to lose all those good videos!
Mike and Kim are, as a whole, expressing their disagreement with WT behavior and teaching. They use WT material to demonstrate their point
Yes. But they need to do this lawfully, i.e. without infringing on any copyright laws.

In 1914, 1917-18 and 1925, WT faced crisis due to doctrinal reasons and power struggles, with more than half of the WT HQ directors purged, many prominent and true believers leaving the fold, branch office managers becoming apostate, etc. However, as said above, they had their business and money to fall back on. They survived that debacle because of money and not because of their members.
Now, WT may have problems with money, but they have a core group of believers who will not leave no matter what. No high level defections have happened in the recent decades. Normal JW's are not dependent on the WT for their daily financial and family needs. Hence, even if the WT stops printing and publishing altogether, publishers will still go on preaching as usual with whatever they have and whatever WT gives them. JW's dont have any problems whatsoever to simply go to the door and ask the householder to download things from jw.org.
So the WT is doing what any organization will do. If they have stopped their publishing business, it makes no sense in having huge printeries and printery staff. Cut back and downsizing is the best way. But all of this would not make much difference to a normal JW. It is just the matter of changing his presentation style during his field service. Instead of a physical book, he will have to show things from his tablet or smart phone. Most JW's have already transitioned to this style of witnessing.

One of the very first downsizing happened in 1915, if not earlier.
In 1915, seventy members of the Bethel family in New York were informed that because of a lack of funds, they would have to leave Bethel to continue their service in the field. They were told: “We must not involve ourselves in debt nor jeopardize the work in general; hence the decision for the reduction of the expenses along every line.”

SBF,
you will need to keep your stats ready to incorporate the cutbacks that will be announced at the upcoming Annual meeting on October 7.

Looking at the cutbacks and predicting the end of Watchtower is like looking at the natural disasters happening around and predicting the end of the world.
JW's hear about earthquakes and hurricanes and start thinking that the end of the world is near. Ex-Jw's look at the yearbook stats and predict that the end of WT is near.
The greatest asset that WT has is believers. No matter what happens, no matter how many fade away, a core group of strong and true believers will always be there to prevent the org from collapsing.
a friend sent me a new letter, that should be read to the congregation:.
september 18, 2017. to all congregations.
re: 2018 memorial and special talk.
Shouldn`t the talk really be titled W.T.F. has Jesus Christ been doing for the past 103 years since he has supposedly been ruling from 1914 till now ?
JW's have already answered this question:
