Comparing Christian & Watchtower Timelines

in talking to jw's, it is apparent that they believe they are the only ones who believe in a paradise earth.

in reality most bible-believing christians believe in a paradise earth, they just don't call it that, they call it the millennium reign.

i created the chart below in an attempt to highlight areas of agreement between christians and a watchtower view, while at the same time isolating the key difference - the rejection of the new covenant.

For a die-hard JW, Jehovah doesn't fill the gaps in science, however, is the designer of the science. He is the Stanley Miller of 1953.

For anyone with a basic understanding, you can appreciate the power of complex hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions of the molecule

For a JW, the more complex science becomes, the more he appreciates Jehovah as the brains behind it. Separating Jehovah from science is like separating Elon Musk from Tesla, or Zuckerberg from Facebook.

Profits ,Not For Profit ,and Prophecy ( Profitcy )

i cant get my head around how a religion ,like the jehovah`s witnesses can be a not for profit organization ,that profits $ from wheeling and dealing in real estate ventures $ ,and also profits from being a multi media publishing company $ that in its heyday profited from volunteers selling their literature and now its venturing into the digital age of tv imaging ,video conferencing ,dvd`s and whatever else they can use.$$$.

making $$$ profits from all of these activities while still claiming to be a not for profit religion reaping in the $$$ profits selling prophecy (profitsy $$$).

it`s about time governments woke up to this charade ..

Being a 'Not-for-profit' doesn't mean that it doesn't earn profits. Most 'not-for-profits' make sizeable profits, however, that profit is not returned back to the owners. The profit earned is retained in the business and is used to further it.

No matter how we see it, there is no evidence that the profit earned by WT is somehow distributed among the directors or the GB members.

hello all interested persons,.

whilst driving to work this morning listening to the radio, my ears pricked when the presenter began talking about jws.

it was on a programme which airs between 8.00 and 8.30 entitled am, and broadcast on the abc national radio.

I think the main reasons that the Borg hasn’t joined is that 1600 x A$80,000 = A$128,000,000.

Not sure if all 1,600 cases/claims will qualify for compensation. A victim needs to apply for the compensation, and an independent decision maker will investigate the case and will decide if it actually happened, and then it will qualify.

According to this article, as of June 2020, only 10 victims came forward referring to abuse by Jehovah's Witnesses:

whilst i have never quite understood whether petra and atlantis are one or multiple entities i recognise the value of their work and web of contacts.

i think it is fair to say that no-one has consistently contributed more solid gold intelligence to this site.

no one has reliably passed on more bomb shells and solid news as well as day to day minutiae.

What happened in that thread was a minor misunderstanding, which got cleared up later. Such things are bound to happen and will happen with public forums such as this site.

The image from the 1927 book Creation is actually an 1890 painting by Max Klinger, the German painter, and not the work of a WT artist.

A few years back I had a discussion with a friend from the art department who was one of those asked to leave bethel during the budget cuts. When I spoke about subliminal art, he laughed it off saying that what we see are the brush strokes of a tired, over-worked painter, who has done his 19th editing of the image. Adding something subliminal would not even occur for an artist working at WT.

I don't believe this hidden message crap. what will WT achieve by adding these to their publications? What is the message that they are trying to convey? Since some of these images are from the 70's and 80's, did Fred Franz say something about it, since he was in the GB? Would an average JW have the mental skill and the time to find these hidden messages, among all the constant drumming he has to go through. If it is intended for a few people, then it doesn't make sense to publish it in a public WT.

To discredit the WT, we need to look for the obvious visible flaws, which we have in abundance, and not subliminal images.

Brushstrokes create patterns, and patterns may create anomalies, which are quite prevalent in the graphic artist's world.

Collapse of JW Org - Possibly on the Horizon?

what i find interesting is even some of my pimi family is embracing the reality that all is not well with jw.org and that many current jws are just going through the motions due to not having a good way out of the org.

wondering what could realistically lead to the collapse of jw.org in the not distant future?
