  have you ever been so dam hurt from the things done to you in the so called gods organization that you wanted to just set down cry your guts out?.

  i will list a few reasons but basically i feel that my reality has been denied to me as a young man growing up as a jw.. i was not taught to love god, but have excrement scared out of me if i did not do what they said, i too had an over bearing father who seemed to fit right in with jw's mind set.

  i can still hear him now god rest his soul, he would say every morning if he happen to hear garner ted armstrong, honey listen they are robbing from the lords table.

  I really LIKE "yeurgh." It shows real creative emotional and etymological genius.

  Speaking about non-ergonomic chairs: I took my wife to her last convention at the Belton, Texas, Convention Center in the summer of 2000. The chairs were so UN-ergonomic, so narrow and curved on the bottom, that they caused her great hip pain that continued until the day she died of advanced breast cancer on November 29, 2000, even tho she probably wasn't feeling pain anymore because of the morphine pills. My ass took a while to recover also.

  I'm so glad that was my LAST convention. I had become so vomitously SICK of "Conventions" that I thank my wife for dying, in one sense, because I did not have to go anymore. I did not have to do ANY fukken WTS thing anymore. WTS theospeak "Convention." If it truly had been a "Convention," we would have been parading the streets as the American Legions's 40 & 8 did, we would have had a lot to drink, we would have had lots of extemporaneous sexual activity which usually takes place at "Conventions", which, of course, did NOT happen.

  Conventions. What an indescribable goddam blessing not to go anymore!@#$%&*?!!!

  no wonder they praised hitler's principles back in 1934 and had a very hard time accepting the republic of israel.

  wouldn't be surprising if they have u-boats submerged in the east river and san pedro harbor with advanced missile capability to try to take out apostate websites, isp's, houses of prostitution and hef's mansion.. "allah akhbar", sez them.

  needed to be circumcised like the jewish christians already were.

  only about the circumcision issue but also on whether the gentiles were.

  The WTS does not only change, it goes back and forth, like blinking on and off. Christianity as a whole IS a turnoff, because of all the harm that it's caused during twenty centuries.

  Thanks for the reminiscences. Yeah, I sure remember Dodger starting in 1975! Some special details:

  ** Young Mexican-American brothers dressed like Mafia with black underarm wallets made to look like shoulder holsters. I wondered about their spirituality.
  ** Young slender dyno-mite looking Mexican-American sisters with long black hair in long black skirts slit up to the hip joint. I couldn't take my eyes off the slit and the leg it was not covering, besides the rest of them. Wished I was not married at that point.
  ** Hotter than fukken hell. Your umbrella kept the sun off you, but its translucency intensified the heat so it felt like you were in some kind of weird sunburning sauna.
  ** Eye-burning Smog.
  ** You got to hear each utterance from the platform 3 times because of the echo.
  ** Deafening chatter noise when you walked around inside the stadium.

  My favorite part was watching helicopter practice by the LAPD academy in the distance out over center field. Up and down, up and down. It was more interesting than the talks.

  Then there was the racetrack by LAX (Hollywood Park?). Cute how even the speaker had to pause for the noise of jetliners landing. So low you could see the wheel nuts on the landing gear and the stewardess sitting on the copilot's lap (this is an example of hyperbole).

  When I saw how unhappy lots of volunteer brothers seemed to be, I never wanted to suffer like that so I never did any work at a convention, even as an elder (I sure got away with lots of flaky stuff and it did not bother me one bit!!!) It was harder-than-hell-enough to just get there, and my wife and I always had a screaming fight right in the middle of some talk. My favorite fight was when they were presenting the FAMILY book.

  i got reading that jw board, the one quoted in the post about fred hall.

  first of all i was gaging some of it was just stupid.. then i read some other stuff and thought - god how could i have been taken in?.

  i keep coming back to this over and over, i can't understand how normal thinking human beings as i was can be taken in by these lies and fantasies.

  My sympathies, Ballistic. Hope you don't go completely ballistic on us.

  MY anger has a lot to do with how the WT taught me the truth about all the lies promulgated by the Catholic Church, so I had a time of it, for years, accepting how the Catholic Church is a big fraud and how it affected ME.

  They did not tell me the truth about all the WT lies: "The Truth", so now I'm going thru it all over again, just not as bad, because the Catharsis was re the Catholic Church, and I kinda got used to it. Now I realize ALL Organized Religion (contributions, rules, regulations, you "should," ad nauseam) is lo tov.

  So, BELIEVE IT!!! As long as you're alive, you can gain understanding, wisdom, and love for yourself and others even though you "can't believe it," by "believing it."

  Welcome to the "I don't believe it" club, Ballistic. If there is a good God "up there" he/she/it will have compassion on us, because we want to know what's "true" more than belong to some self-worshipping "Organization."

  Isn't that the essence of what Jesus laid down for us?

  Those are not isolated quotes!!! There is enough context in those portions to show WTS's hypocrisy, or can't you see truth when you see it, or are you another NYtellyKommunist??

  If you need more context, why don't you provide it for us in a post so we can see that, why, the WTS's lies are not lies after ALL, ARE THEY, BROTHERS!! they're the PLAIN UNVARNISHED TRUTH!!! (or at least little fibs that have always played a large part in the Watchtower's "Theocratic Strategy"). Is Jehovah's Witnesses a religion or not! Is it an intelligence agency or not! Does it portray Jesus' example or not! Just what the hell IS this Borg we're all up in arms about???

  If more context would help me not feel so bad about supporting a disgusting cult for 25 years I'd like ta see it!!!
