LV101 I live in Europe( not a English speaking country if you complain about spelling 🙂). We're I'm at this happened about 15 years ago. In ways I understand many people struggling with emotional problems and halls are not best place too be. It's a boring, depressing soulless place. Add to that watchtower with their do more do more, you are not good enough talks. All doom and gloom. It's a very judgemental atmosphere. I doubt even if they removed zoom that people are gonna return to halls. Meeting attendance has been going down sense the 90s. Nothing gonna change that.

My old congregation is being shuttered
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini just found out from my jehovah's witness cousin that my old congregation is being shuttered due to lack of elders, less than 20 members attending, and that the congregation cannot meet their monthly expenses.. here is a congregation that was started in 1975 with less than 15 members.
it grew to 185 members in the 1990's.
the congregation grew so large that the elders decided to split the congregation in two.

How many new converts do you remember as a JW?
by SydBarrett ininspired by the "whats the reason you think jw's are in decline" thread.
my belief is that almost all the growth, at least in the western world is due to jw's having kids.
i was a 4th generation jw from birth till about age 20, so the timeframe i can comment on would be my teen years.

Another thing that's happening with watchtower and meetings is depression. Being s JW is a heavy load. Lot's of JWs struggling with mental and emotional issues. Going to does boring meetings is not helping someone that has anxiety or depression. It actually makes situation worse. Jws meetings are totally lacking any enthusiasm and real joy. Add the requirements you have too put mask of holiness. There's no way meeting attendance gonna increase.

Great difference in my opinion is, they have too prove themselves now. Heavenly kings have to be example in agape now. Priest class was incharge of education old Jerusalem. All spiritual beings are watching if they prove themselves now, so they can have heavenly responsibility in the future. Think leaders of watchtower have done the 144000 a big disfavour just focusing on preaching and not agape. Putting obstacles with all their Man made rules. Jesus wouldn't like this situation. Matthew 23:13
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. -

What`s the reason some of you think JW`s are in decline ?
by smiddy3 infrom what i can see no such thing is happening.i became a jw in 1960 and remained for about 30 years and the numbers of active jw`s today in the world are far greater than they were back then.. and here in australia the numbers are much higher than they were back then .. so i don`t see that their in decline or have any worries about losing support .. don`t the numbers speak for themselves ?.
is it just wishful thinking on your part ?.

A luncheon with ultra PIMI, elderly relatives
by joe134cd ini had a luncheon yesterday with and aunt and cousin.
the only reason i went, and endured it, was because my father who can’t drive wanted to see them.
as i sat there eating the lunch at the restaurant, i couldn’t help think how totally oblivious they are to what’s going on, in an ever expanding organisation of the happiest people on earth.

"Apostates" in here showing all this compassion for older JWs, yet those same JWs wouldn't do the same". Up too the beginning of the 90s, seemed like every watchtower magazine was about bashing other religions. Especially Catholic. Watchtower never been especially interested in people's feeling. They always thought they hade the moral high ground to bash others. It's probably a mindset infused into their members also. I wonder why they suddenly stopped with all their bashing. In ways watchtower started bashing their own members instead. How everyone hade to be holy and clean to be a JW.

Confirmed: CO Discourages Zoom
by XBEHERE ini can confirm that the co during one of his service talks stated that zoom is a provision for elderly, infirmed, as well as people who might need it on occasion due to health reasons, otherwise you are expected to be in person at meetings and in the ministry.
this had to come down from the top.
maybe they do not want to put it in a gb update or broadcast since that would be too public i suppose.

Hellothere
I can confirm they been discouraging Zoom for over a year now. Even a former GB member (we all know who 😊 yeah the one that disappeared like smoke) gave talk about it JW broadcasting. I can also confirm that many JWs don't seem to care what GB thinks about Zoom, they gonna still continue attending tru zoom. If GB hade any kind of common sense they wouldn't provoke rank and file removing Zoom. Think lot's of JWs are on their last breath ( both literally and in their patience with org) . Removing Zoom gonna affect org very negative.

Anthony ,Tony , Morris where is he ? How is he ? Anyone ?
by smiddy3 inhas anybody any information as to the whereabouts or the health of anthony morris ?.
-
Hellothere
You must understand that the Morris we saw on video's, was the light and censored version of Tony Morris. At GB meetings he must been foaming at the mouth bat Crazy. Even he must have been to much for other GB member's.

Curtailing zoom
by road to nowhere inco visit, so right from the horse's mouth ( or somewhere).
too many are staying on zoom, missing face to face encouragement.
look for the elders to implement changes.. also people at the door are so receptive and glad to see us.

Think there's only one reason for meetings and that's donations. Have someone at Bethel figured out people are not donating enough when on zoom, it's bye bye zoom. Have they notice they get much more money from selling halls, they gonna keep zoom and continue the sell out. I don't think org is counting on much donations. They seem too be focusing on the real estate market. Sure org likes control they have with in person meetings. But I think they like money even more.

Back in the 90s it was hard find a seat at meetings sometimes and assemblys. Meeting attendance has been going down for decades. We all know it has nothing too do with pandemic. Watchtower would not have the courage too remove zoom. They bluffing. But it would be interesting if they would. I bet the yearly report wouldn't come out year after that 😎
