I wondered back in the 90s why we still knocked on doors. Either people got angry or they pretended not being at home. JWs were doing less and less d2d work before covid. I think today its just too dangerous going around knocking on doors.

" No physical congregation would mean even fewer and smaller contributions"
You mean in Africa? I live in Europe. Haven't used regular money for years. Everything is done digital. No need for contribution boxes. Plus they gonna get far more from selling halls then any contribution.

I wasn't surprised they didn't go online, I was shocked. The perfect opportunity handed in a silver plate. More time goes, more proof coming they took wrong decision going back to hall's. Going online would have solved child abuse cases. No in fighting about beards, pants or no tie. Just tell JWs that it would be common sense not worrying about things like that if meetings are online. No need too come up with if you should say hi too DF people or not. No need forbidden sisters using mics. No need for using younger and younger elders. Now it's gonna be harder too explain massive hall sell going on and coming. Going online in future probably gonna create massive irritation among JWs. Their ability too take wrong decisions is really weird. Don't know if it's because infight among GB members. They don't like taking hard decisions. Could be life in the bunker have detached them from reality. Would this be a regular company, they would have lost their Jobs long ago.

unbaptized boy having priority over women
by enoughisenough ini was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters.
; and i thought the jw were raising a bunch of misogynist.
would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women.

enoughisenough Probably first time rank and file would agree with GB that's it's the best life ever 🙂💰💰. Now most JW seem broke and struggling.

I think it's just another move to sell halls. They know very well they don't have enough brothers to do the work. And specially in ten years. GB have only been dismantling org and congregation arrangement. This been going on for last 13 years or more. Okej fine sell halls. They gonna do it either JWs want or not. But at least share money with congregations. It's their free labour that made everything possible.

The "Baby Boomers" are starting to die off, and the effects
by Captain Schmideo2 ini was born in 1964, so, i was 10 when the buildup to 1975 was happening (and watched the subsequent failure of that).then, when i was a teenager, i got to see the fallour of the big apostacy events in the 1980s.during all of this, i was told by my parents and by people of my parents' peer group that "this old system won't last much longer, and won't the new system be great!
"it is now 2024. i am going to be 60 years old in a few months.
over half a century.my mom died two months after her 80th birthday last year, after suffering for years of chronic poor health (some of it brought on by a very sedentary lifestyle, but also plagued by emotional and mental issues and family drama which did not help overall.

Yeah i know they recommend writing in your testament that you gonna donate everything to watchtower. Goes completely against what bible says. Proverbs 13:22 says “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children.”
That's why they becoming softer with df people. As soon money is involved, bible goes out the window.

Assembly Attendence
by Riley ini am in western canada.
we use to have our assembly in saskatoon.
our assembly has moved to medicine hat.
-
Hellothere
How many people are paying attention to information they receiving? My mother is a pimi. Visited assembly. She said most people either walking around assembly hall or playing with mobil phones 🤣. I don't blame them. You bet if its zoomed most gonna be doing other things will video playing in the background. I don't really see any point for watchtower having assembly anymore. It's probably cause donations they continue this.

The Saddest Thing About Tony Morris's Removal
by NotFormer ini've mentioned before how i've wondered how tony morris must have felt when he was sacked.
yes, i know he's a rehensible human being who got served a healthy dose of karma, or, if you like, divine judgement.
to go from having all there is to have within the world he lived in, to where he is now; that's a long fall.

What you think consequences gonna be for watchtower if they lose the court appeal in Norway?
by Hellothere inpersonally i think they gonna realise god's not backing org.
that idea gonna get even more established in their minds.
i think the real selling of kingdom hall gonna start then.

Hellothere
I don't really care about what GB tell rank and file about persecution. My opinion is based on what been happening in org last 12 year's. The bethel layoffs. Less printing of magazines. Sell of halls and everything else. Back in the 80s watchtower thought they knew everything about Bible. That they the chosen ones and all other groups are evil. Now their opinion about biblical matters is "we just don't know". If they keep losing in court I do think it's gonna affect their confidence even more. I do think majority of GB are believers. That thing's haven't worked out for org is something that must be in their minds.
