Lmao, that prolly be me at a 10am meeting 😂
here is the org's problem with zoom, attending this way does not fit with their "scriptural definition" of a christian gathering.
at least not anymore, one thing my pimi wife is fine with is attending on zoom occasionally, even 2-3 times a month or so.. if some of you recall, during covid there were break out rooms setup for people to stay on and associate.
many would also stay in the main meeting and talk over each other trying to say hello, etc.

hello my friends,.
here are some encouraging scriptures for the day:.
revelation 21:2 i also saw the holy city, new jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from god and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.. hebrews 11:10 for he (abraham) was awaiting the city having real foundations, whose designer and builder is god.. revelation 21:24 and the nations will walk by means of its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.. revelation 22:1 and he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of god and of the lamb 2 down the middle of its main street (of the holy city).
Yes, that's the core beliefs Jehovah's witnesses have convinced their members to believe with all the scriptures from the Bible that point to this.
It is true that this is what JWs have been convinced of, but is it truly a clear teaching in the Bible?

@kosonen,
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and ask, do the scriptures really say humanity will pick up where Adam and Eve left off? Or is this an inference?

"And our salvation is not given by a religious organization, but it will depend on how we individually respond to the word of God." - Kosonen
Thx for further expanding on this. But what IS this salvation? What will we do once we're saved?

And surely Jesus would like to see other Christian congregations to get rid of their false doctrines. And I don’t believe Babylon the Great represents false religions.
And why would Jesus want to do this Kosonen? If at least one Christian church is teaching truth, why isn't it enough? Why not have the choice, like originally in the garden of Eden?
if you once were fully pimi and truly believed jw doctrine to the core like i once did, when you come to the reality that it is not the truth at all it can be extremely devastating.. i think only other ex jws could ever understand.
i wasted my entire life i thought the real life was yet to come to wasted the best years knocking on doors.
now i’m so angry.. i can understand why so many top themselves when they realise it was all lies..
I met my wife as a jw ...a hot sexy spitting image of Lynda Carter aka the real Wonder Woman with long legs for days and tons of fun in private hehehe...will never regret that.
One of the things that became utterly clear with time after distancing myself from JW was how emotionally dependent I'd become on the org. Believing that ONLY in the org I could be respectable, clean, well dressed, positive minded, purposeful, etc...
But the truth is that all those things originate from within. Seems almost ridiculously obvious now but it wasn't at first. Once I came to understand this, the crutch that was JW disappeared. A long time ago I read Candide by Voltaire and there's a quote he writes in there "We must all cultivate our own garden"....truer words...

I believe that Jesus is still the head of the congregation of Jehovah's witnesses. And I believe that spiritual food like this daily text based on a WT article was according to God's will to prepare the Jehovah's witnesses to flee somewhere when the right time arrives
At this point, I believe that Jesus is the head of the congregation of any Christian denomination.
it feels like the change in reporting of hours becomes a fundamentally bigger deal every day.
the weight and importance placed on quantity was enormous, and now it's just gone.
even tho most witnesses really didn't keep "accurate" records so to speak hehehe.... this could very well be a precursor to even bigger doctrinal changes, like 1914. damn, would would happen then?.
wonder when was the last time they repeated the 1914 77week 2000+ years from 607 doctrine? Should be easy enough to check. Is the strategy not not address the problem and hope if it’s never mentioned the problem will go away?
Seems that way from what I'm reading here. I remember the whole thing with the generation doctrine changing in the early 90s. Almost 30 years ago. That was the beginning of the changing in the thinking regarding 1914, looking back now. 30 years later, it seems the updating of this 1914 doctrine slowly continues then. And it may continue to update for many more. Talk about the "long game".
even tho i've been expelled about 4 years now, i truly checked out around 2015. changes in the org i think we're just starting to get going.
i remember the kingdom songs suddenly getting the taylor swift treatment aka pop music treatment.
meetings were getting axed or meshed together or something.
Thx for the summary Desirous, I didn't know about the zoom instructions. So what happens if you decide you want to stay on zoom? Is this grounds for "getting in trouble"?

After reading the responses here I agree with opinions that it needs to be addressed. I imagine that for younger people it may not matter as much, assuming they're all in like my generation was and the ones before precisely bc of the 1914 doctrine. If they somehow can test how important of a thing it is for the new generation and they find that it's not really that important to them then they may just ultimately ignore it and let it die. People in my generation and older will essentially have little choice but just keep going.
