  The Holidays Are No Big Deal Anymore

  you used to hear christmas music blaring on every radio station.

  not anymore.

  people used to jam the roadways and malls to do their christmas shopping and now it’s no big deal.

  Christmas is alive and well in most metro areas. So is Hannukah, and in smaller versions, Solstice and Kwanza (the latter is a fake holiday IMO, sorry).

  The point for me is this - it's a time of year when families and friends gather. Hell, even people you don't really like gather (holiday parties).

  As someone with a toe in and most of a foot out, it's a pretty shitty time of the year, honestly.
  I start feeling lonely around Halloween, round the bend at New Years, and it's not until I make a token appearance at the Memorial that the new year really begins for me.

  New baptism contract

  hi all, a little while back we had a thread on the topic a new baptism contract, specifically question two, in that the "in association with gods spirit directed organisation" has been dropped.

  we had two circuit level baptisms in australia since the story started getting around where the old wording was still being used and i was starting to think that it was just a rumor.. the melbourne international convention this passed weekend used the new contract, in which the claim of spirit direction is rolled back.

  i would share here if i could post a mp3 file.. what will be next 1914 swept under the carpet?.

  So what is the new actual wording?

  Because when the elders came a-calling wanting to push me over the edge, that was one of the two "gotcha" questions they asked. Something like "do you believe that the GovBody is God's spirit directed organization?"

  Watchtower facility tour

  it's been a long time since i've even come near the borganization.

  do they still allow "tours" in their facilities?

  They do. Most of the current tours are centered around Warwick, where we learn that the lavish levels of finish were accomplished at a great discount (for example, the society has their own granite mine somewhere. Didn't Jesus have one of those?)

  Another High School Shooting ... Santa Clara California

  at least at the moment it looks like no one is dead, but 6 injured (9:00 am pacific time 14 nov 2019).. i don't know if the school allows students to carry weapons, but many will think it would be a good idea for the students to carry concealed weapons to provide personal protection.. we shall see.. rub a dub.

  California Fires-Contact from elders

  the fires have been hitting many areas of los angeles lately.

  recently, i checked my home voicemail and noticed messages from several elders.

  they were calling everyone on their “books” to ensure that they were ok.. i assume this is the protocol for a natural disaster.

  I would say it's benign/bad record keeping. In 20+ years of fading I have yet to have a CO engage me directly, even the ones who have come to my house for lunch. If they were looking to shepherd the flock, there are much easier ways.

  could you, please, help with finding sources.

  i need a list of kingdom halls, bethel's or just any properties sold by the watchtower to religious or political organisation.

  it would be the best if it was on one of official jw websites.
