Another New Member
by lriddle80 ini have been out of the "truth" for about 13 years, but 9 of those years i was someone who was out but thinking i would probably go back at some point...out but not all the way out mentally.
my family are still active members and i am a little bit shunned, not invited to family get togethers, that sort of thing.
i was one of those people that left and then did drugs and partied for a while.

Knowing prayers would be said in vain, I send my best wishes to your friend. Cancer stroke me once some years ago. Never came back since today, but I'm aware that he could be just around the corner.

The Bible and Masturbation...4000 years of inspired input and no scriptures about it ?
by smiddy inmy philosophy when i was a teenager :"those who admit to it are stupid ,those who deny it are liars" that was my response to peers who posed such a subject when i was a teen .now, being a mature aged person i think this subject could do with a bit more enlightened content.. i am a male so i can`t speak for the females ,who, i hope will give their input on this topic for discussion.and i mean it as a serious discussion.. males experience erections from the time they are babies and the natural thing to do is to hold it , and before you know it fondling it gives you releif.. society doesnt help by making you feel guilty and like shit as a dirty person.why in the world do babes ,young children ,young boys get erections before they even know what it`s function is for.
if a god designed sex for procreation then surely this wouldnt become an issue until they reached the age of puberty ,not when a male is still a baby.. and getting back to my op nowhere in the bible does it talk about masturbation which surely has been going on since adam was a boy/man.. i`m sorry, but to deny that you would have to be a complete idiot ,imbecile ,fool ,or just brain dead.. so for 4000 years of inspired scriptures from god ,nothing is said about a condition that effects every man from his birth to his death .. makes you wonder doesn`t it ?.
smiddy.

We studied the Youthbook twice as a family when me and my brothers were young boys. Both times my Dad skipped the chapter with masturbation, saying that this is something to talk about when we are older. He never did it.

I was thinking about the same question a lot of times. I asked myself: Is it legit to blame my parents for a wasted childhood and youth, for all the trouble in school, for having a bad conscience all the time, for not having a good education because the only goal they set for me was fulltime service allthough they did all this because they didn't know better?
I came to the following conclusion: In jw-thinking parents bear the responsibility for their kids. Thats why children had to die in the flood and children have to die at armageddon. The jw accept that children have to suffer and die because of the decisions their parents made. They don't scrutenise the background or take into consideration that these parents love their children and just wanted the best for them. So why should you judge jw parents differently?
From my point of view as a humanst I can't blame them for what they did. But applying jw-thinking, they are fully responsable for all the harm this cult caused to us.

Xanthippe - I spent one night in that restaurant at the top of the schildhorn, sleeping on the floor.
That was one unusual thing.
Landing with a plane close to an active volcano who just started to smoke heavily. Waking up the next morning and everything is covered with ashes.
Swinging on a liana in the jungle like tarzan.
Taking a ride on the roof of an old train in the ecuadorian Andes.
