I wonder which unfortunate circuit gets the Circuit Assembly on Superbowl Sunday or will it not be scheduled on that day and on XMAS and New Years when they fall on a weekend?

Meeting Not Cancelled but Postponed
by wisdomfrombelow inthere's a big snowstorm on the east coast and i found out that the school and service meeting was not cancelled but postponed to tomorrow.
why do they think it's so important to have it so they ruin another evening after shoveling snow?
just venting.....

I'm sure they think everyone wants to go to the hall and hates to miss a meeting. Delusional.

Of a small note, on page 49 there is a picture of someone in the ministry without a tie again. I have to think it was deliberate as that picture had to be staged.

Experiences: CAA needs to emotionally vomit... catharsis... release ... etc.
by confusedandalone inok, so i have been on this journey for about a year or so.
i feel like i am no longer a part of this whacked out religion, however at the same time after spending so many years in it there have been a huge array of things that have happened to me that i feel i need to talk about.
not because they will help anyone who reads them, not because they are the slightest bit interesting, but because i can no longer keep them bottled up and expect to move on.. alot of things i have experienced hurt me deeply... although i was able to move forward with my life these things tend to hang around in my mind because i have never been able to tell anyone outside of my wife.

Comatose - Thanks for your comment. It made me smile.
confusedandalone - Don't think too much about what I said. I was commenting more to the people who really piled on the woman who really didn't know her and made so many assumptions about her character. I am glad you shared your story and I'm glad you got married to the woman who is right for you.

I was destroyed inside. I knew I had to confess. So I went to see her the next day and told her we had to tell the brothers. I called my favorite elder from her house and told him.
I guess I'm the only one who looks at your story and sees you as the villian. Well, perhaps that is too strong a word but i read your own words and frankly I feel no pity for any of the suffering you got because of how you went about things. I see 5 times in that passage you state "I" and only one time it was "we" and it was basically only to tell her what you were going to do.
You decided for her, when you felt ready. You didn't ask her or give her any warning. While you were still at the house you decided to make the call. You could have said "I feel real bad about my actions and I want to confess to the elders next week". You trapped her and threw her under the bus just because you felt like YOU needed a change. You didn't just walk away and say "i need to stop". You didn't tell her "i want to confess so I'll not involve you and the co-conspiritant will be nameless". You didn't even say "i will go home and call"...you did it right there in her house.
If you did that to me I would feel that you would deserve any pain the elders and congregation heaped upon you. You didn't feel like telling your brother the elder about it so you weren't ready to face him. Did you ever think she might not want to face the consequences also?
I'm glad you didn't marry her but to make her seem like some kind of evil person because she is probably really bitter about you getting her in trouble. You never know the effect of your actions on someone else.
Now I'll get off my high horse because I have no right to judge anyone. I just commented that I can see her point of view and how you really screwed her even if you didn't screw her. -

If the GB reinstated the Book study, would it take?
by BU2B ini have been noticing in recent threads that people have been observing that the zeal has been waning among r+f jws.
i have observed that most zealous, die hards have gone to foreign lands, or foreign language congregations, leaving the others in the stagnant english congregations.
when you think of it, if you cared at all about bringing people into the cult, you probably would be preaching where it is fertile, the foreign field.

I don't see a reason for the book study to return. If it was eliminated due to possible legal liability then it will stay dead. The mandatory donations for the magazines are dead forever also, never to return. The congregations exists to benefit the Watchtower Society and not the other way around. The corporation existed before Jehovah's Witnesses became a distinct religion. They like to make us think that the Governing Body runs the show but they do not anymore the way they did before 2000. If any policy they wanted to institute would seriously affect the "cash flow" then I am sure it would be squished but we would never know about it.

I would love to have the chance to explore the vast universe but because I don't have a TARDIS it is very unlikely I will ever leave earth. I cannot yet fathom how long is long enough for me if I had great health. All I know is I don't want it to end yet I know it will.

Interesting how it said no need for food or clothing, just need the money and make it payable to the worldwide work so we can do what we want with it.
