The may be flush in assets, but it's the cash flow that seems to be drying up.

The way they lost the Campos sexual abuse case last year has set a virtually foolproof precedent to beat them in court, and the lawsuits are piling up... not to mention many of us suspect that enough "conscious-classers" (those still stuck in, but know the TATT) have quit donating.

What is TATT?

This is new to me about that case last year. What has changed?

Arent there paedophiles infiltrating many organisations around the world? Why is the JW organisation different?

I dont understand how if a paedophile is in JW org, why are the other members at the top responsible?

So ... Russia and Nato at war? Should we be worried?

it seems unbelievable but turkey (a nato member state) shooting down a russian jet fighter on their syrian border seems to be "meh" news and no one is too bothered about it too much.. the world seems a bit upside down right now.

i don't think a lot of countries really know who the hell they are fighting and who is and isn't on their side in it all and really what is going on.. smaller incidents than this have led to major conflicts in the past but hopefully calm heads will prevail.

china shot down a us spy plane years ago and the world survived and forgot about it so things will move on i'm sure.. i'm guessing the price turkey pays for their gas supply from russia will be going up soon though.. man, that republican primary is sucking all the news attention from the room.

What no JW will ask is what happens to all the cash that they receive when they sell Mill Hill Bethel, the Bittacy Hill factory, and all the houses etc they already own around the old site.

A 5 bedroom house in that area goes for over a Million £. Think how many such properties they can put on 22 acres !

With the whole package, it will gross around 3 Billion £, less building costs. I would say that they have already covered the cost of the new place, plus a huge profit. As they are going to get a lot of donations for the new project, before they develop or sell the old Site plus the other buildings, they are going to turn a nice profit.

All this is Tax Free of course. At the expense of the U.K Tax payers.

I know the answer to this, but are they a Religion, or a Property Development Company ?

Are they, or are they not, a HUGE SCAM ?

Answer is, they are the number one property development company on Earth. McDonalds comes in second place and the Vatican/Catholic Chruch third place.

But McDonalds and the Vatican dont hold as many buildings in their portfolio in EVERY single country on the planet, (almost) even in North Korea, and the Middle East there are top secret JW safe houses.

In London Bethel reception, they still have a scale model of the new site. The pictures show 80 acreas of land, but that was old info, they since bought another 250 acrea around and about temple farm site.

What will happen to all this land now? Does anybody know if they will sell some of it?

I may have missed it before, is there a reason why all the projects are on hold or reduced?

Why are all the special pioneers getting the sack?

Why are they so short of funds now?

The real reason Chelmsford hasn't been stopped

i haven't seen this mentioned yet.

last year in the uk, shortly after the money grab that everyone had, we had a video and letter (both probably still available from atlantis) appealing for money for the new bethel and slips were handed out etc.

this means that most uk congregations are sending a regular donation specifically for the chelmsford build.

There were going to be over 1000 workers for chelmsford, we saw all those mobile/park homes on the video played to all UK congregations.

Now they have about 30 people left at the site, just finishing off some of the houses and flats that they had started anyway.

So I think its still going ahead, but they at first bought 80 ac4reas, then last year they bought another 250 acres.

The plan was something about leasing out the land to worldly farmers to provide food for the betehel family.

I wonder what the plan is now?

Now I hear they are kicking out of Bethel anybody who has had more than 20 sick days in a year.

The more you have taken off sick the higher up the list you are to get kicked out.

"London: letter from branch says the project will be "reduced in scope" - whatever that means. I'm guessing they did not get the response they hoped for from their requests to congregations for more funds.

I do know for a fact, that the Bro responsible for the finances associated with the project has been sent home. If it were going ahead even "reduced in scope", his skill set would still be needed. The awake Bros I know locally do not believe the project will continue and the "reduced in scope" language is just a nonsense, like so much else they say nowadays as well!"

Do you know the brothers name in question who was responsible for the finances?

I hear there were hundreds at Chelmsford, it has been reduced to about 30 people. They cant really do anything else now, they are waiting for the redesign.

It was 80 acres, then last year they bought another 250 acres surrounding the site.

What will happen to all this land now?

I hear stories that it was a toxic waste site, but arent these stories always said by apostates whenever the society buys some land?

I know it was a scrap car yard, you can still see it on google earth, but that has all been cleared away now.

I would be very surprised if it is all cancelled like ten years ago when they were supposed to move to Milton Keynes.

Does anybody know what will happen in London?

They bought hundreds of acres of land just outside London, a place called Chelmsford. I gather most of the building is on hold and most of the workforce gone home.

I wonder if they will sell of some of the land? I think it will be greatly reduced project from now on.

someone said the other hundreds of acres was going to be for farming? Anybody know more info?
