i loved the detective who spoke and said "the day that not prosecuting someone who hurts a child is not in the public interest, we may as well all just pack up and go home.".

this makes me feel sick to my stomach even more at what the australian royal commission investigated.. .

Absolutely. These are crimes against children. These monsters should pay for what they did. Being a father this makes my blood boil, so to speak. I hope we get real justice for those children that have had to grow up living with this. Seeing no action taken against their perpetrator, or for those bless them that took their own lives.
It makes me very happy to watch a news report like this and see the desire and motivation for bringing those to justice, regardless of their age or how long ago it was.

Mass JW exodus

maybe there will be a mass exodus from jws when thinking people read feb 2017 watchtower telling them the governing body stuff up, shouldnt expect correct/ perfect information and basically make up guff as they see fit.....ya reckon?.

Would be great to see a mass exodus and see so many people wake up. But they are so indoctrinated that even if they held their hands up and admitted it was a con. You would still get people follow because they have to believe something. They would say something like "The WTS were so humble to admit it was a fake and a con, and so because of their humility I will still follow" hahaha. Some people will be in it for the rest of their life because they choose to be ignorant.

there are quite a few here who have been disfellowshipped for apostasy.. then there are those that have successfully faded.. why the different outcome?

are the ones that got df more out spoken?

or does the discrepancy lie with the elders?.

My brother is shunning me big time and his wife. We have nothing to do with each other and I have a child and they have children. Sadly they don't even see each other. If not for my mum arranging for them to be together. The reason for that is I am outspoken.
But if you want what ever family and friends you can get fade and don't say anything. But it's hard. When people ask you, you want to tell them ttatt. But in my heart I so much want to disassociate but I know I will lose my mum.
It's really hard and my heart goes out to those who have lost loved one.

just doing research and came across this.. i know this is old however.

here we have a worldly organisation distributing pamphlets and warning parents about child abuse.. last point in particular.

3) inform the child that what happened is against the law and that it is necessary to report it to the police so that it will not happen again.. pretty straight forward if you ask me.. watchtower were happy to use that in their magazine.

Hahaha I know, if they tried some of the dishes Thai's make with pork. Or the delicious German sausages back then, it would all be fine.
It's mans opinion over everyone. If shellfish and pork really were dirty and unclean then 100% we would still be under that today.

Deuteronomy 14:21 "You shall not eat anything which dies of itself You may give it to the alien who is in your town, so that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner, for you are a holy people to the LORD your God You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.
Hmm, so they themselves cant and shouldn't eat it due to it being unclean. But give it away or sell it is fine. Hypocrisy this is. Don't let a good thing go to waste. Don't give up the opportunity to make money from it.

I remember by brother having loads of hip hop and R&B albums. Loads, and he scratched them all against a wall and put them in a bin. Good for him sticking to what he believes. But he passed up on the opportunity to make some real good money.

That's why i'm stumped what to do. After fading from Watchtower I want to have a faith but... when I read all these things in the bible and ask critical questions non if it makes sense. But what does make sense is how my JW family is treating me and shunning me for raising issues. I have a brother who has 2 lovely children. What is happening in Australian seems to have no impact on him whatsoever. It's very scary that even when it comes to the safety of his children he still doesn't give a damm.
