I was so innocent though hahaha. I didn't have the internet and knew people did this.
But it was wrong to do it in the hall. I wanted to look under sometimes to see what the noise was. I'm happy now I didn't.

But I now know. We had no phones or tablets back then. So maybe it was a Watchtower or Awake magazine. Or something stored in the memory bank. But why couldn't they wait until home.

Would you give up one year at the end of your life if you could relive any one day in the past?
by Esse quam videri inlike the question asks: if you could relive any one day of your life, any age, any place and remember everything about it afterwards, would you be willing to live one year shorter at the end of your life?
one day for one year?.
i realize that someone well on in years would think twice about it, but, what about you younger ones?

Great question I would relive any day when I was 16, thus I could go back 20 years and live my life from that moment again, learn from my mistakes, never get baptised, not go down certain roads I did etc... then lose a year at the end of my life, I'll take that.
Or be given this question again and when I'm 70, go back to 16 again. Just keep doing it again and again.

here's a great jw brain stumper about noah
by nowwhat? inso noah was a preacher of righteousness.
than how did he warn other pockets of civilizations that were hundreds or thousands of miles away?
and if they were destroyed anyway i thought jehovah only acts after he gives clear warning.. and if there were no other civilzations why the need to destroy the entire earth of every living creature?

All the floods, Armageddons and whatever God does in the future to rid evil will never work. We only need to read the bible and see the evil carried out under Gods direction. So we may all be the most perfect and righteous people in the future. There is still one that isn't.

River flowing from the garden of Eden
by joey jojo inhey there.. if this point has been covered before please forgive me.. i have had the principles of noahs flood used by jw's to encourage me to attend meetings recently and this has got me musing about the flood....again.. genesis states that a river flowed from eden and branched out into four rivers, two of which being the tigris and the euphrates.. heres the baffling part; if it had never rained before, how is it that rivers existed before the flood?!!?.
a brief google search tells us that the euphrates begins its journey as snow melt and rain ( as most rivers do) in mountains in turkey.. ecc chapter 1 mentions the water cycle and describes the rivers flowing into the sea but the sea not becoming full.
how did it work pre-flood?

Your going to absolutely hate me for this I'm sure. What I've been reading is fascinating and has made me think. But could the rivers have been formed by the underwater fountains as the bible states. Not sure but we know there are vast pockets of fresh water under the world. When I worked in Libya we they were sitting on one of the biggest underwater reservoirs. Yet above land is desert. Just throwing it out there.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this before. It's from 3 weeks ago. My mum told me about it. But is this real or fake? If this was real I'm sure this would be global news. Some of the corporations quoted like BBC I have done a search on and see nothing being reported from them. What does everyone think about it?
Pope Francis Orders Vatican Archives to Reveal God’s Name Ending Centuries of Secrecy
3 WEEKS AGO by R. HOBBUS J.D.VATICAN CITY – Speaking before a delegation of Jewish leaders at the Vatican on Thursday, Pope Francis revealed he has instructed the Vatican Secret Archives to unseal a set of ancient scrolls that have been kept hidden from public knowledge for centuries by the Church. The scrolls, which were encased in marble and buried in 463 A.D., are said to contain the true name of God as communicated to Moses in the Book of Exodus.
The Pope told an audience during an event celebrating a new version of the Torah that his decision to upend over fifteen hundred years of secrecy was driven in part by a need for “greater transparency” within the Catholic Church. “It is a scandal to say one thing and do another,” declared Pope Francis before adding that the Church is “leading a double life” by continuing to keep God’s name secret.
A source inside the Vatican Secret Archives told Sky News that the Church first became aware of the scrolls’ existence in the fifth century. “The scrolls were uncovered by the Romans during siege of Jerusalem and the subsequent destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D. Nearly four centuries came to pass before Rome would hand over control of the scrolls to the Church in 463 A.D.,” the source explained. “Upon inspection, Pope St. Hilarius issued a decree striking any mention of God’s name from official Church literature.”
According to Exodus 3:14, when the Lord appeared to Moses as a burning bush, He referred to Himself in the Hebrew tongue as “Yaweh,” meaning, “I am who I am.” However, the Holy See now says that was only part of God’s message to Moses. “God said, ‘I am who I am,” the Vatican source told Sky News. “He then followed up with, ‘And I am [this name].’ That final word is what the Holy See plans to make known to the world.”
As to why the Catholic Church has gone to such great lengths to keep God’s true name a secret remains unknown. What is clear is that the Papacy has maintained an unbroken chain of communication in regards to the matter dating back to 468 A.D. “In keeping with tradition, each successive Pope since Hilarius has been made aware of the Lord’s name,” Vatican spokesman Greg Burke confirmed on Friday.
The Vatican Press Office has received more than two million inquiries regarding God’s name since the Pope’s announcement on Thursday. “Our phones have been ringing off the hook,” said one Vatican insider who spoke to BBC News on condition of anonymity. “Understandably, everyone wants to know [His] name,” the insider said. That sentiment isn’t limited to the public. Even the College of Cardinals is getting caught up in the frenzy. According to the insider, the body which serves to advise the Pope has a “friendly betting pool” whose odds-on favorite is “Kevin.”

So when I think of the word heaven. I see angels, clouds and harp players. But in reality when we think about it, for thousands of years it's been occupied by the devil himself and his demons. Not only that but there was a war in heaven. Doesn't' sound all that different to planet earth. Also God is so pure he can't look down or answer our prayers persoanlly. But he can occupy the same space as demons. Hmmm.
