Well, the Israelites wanted a king instead of a judge....that change was allowed
Also, you could have wives it changed to one wife, so I guess God changes his mind sometimes....
is 31:yet he also is wise and will bring disaster and does not retract his words.. 1 sam 15: furthermore, the eternal one of israel does not lie or change his mind, for he is not man who changes his mind.. numbers 23: god is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes his mind.
does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?.
when the god you worship pronounces judgement, is he, really just issuing a warning or has the matter been determined through all the godly powers of insight, foresight and perfect judgement?

just a moment ago irán started to attack israel, guess they're gonna end in ruins because israel has a way better army than other country in the region and the support of the us....hope the gas prices don't increase too much.... wonder how the borg gonna spin it..

Wonder how the Borg gonna spin it.
it's no longer a year tying to the present (the old pre-1995 generation belief).
realistically, that's the only reason why it mattered.
and if it doesn't really matter what it is anymore, why would jw not do away with it?.
Sooner or later 1914 is gonna disappear, it falls under "we don't know things....".
Besides, one elder told me many years ago, "even if the end of the days don't come in our lifetimes"....
Urgency? Yes, they just gonna point at the international situation...
let's be honest, there's a stigma to the name jehovah's witness.
if they are going more mainstream.
i imagine the first recommendation was a name change.
Uhhhh... probably Christian Congregation of the Jehovah Witness....remember that congregation means church too.
in a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.
Not al all....meetings were like funerals with all that formal attire....now it's gonna look more churchlike.
you heard me correct, this is not a joke, and it is not april fools day!
the asl portion of the governing body updated #2 (march 2024) has been released a bit early and someone caught it.
summary: .
Well, I guess everything is on the chopping block now ..
These are my predictions, and these changes are loooong overdue.
Baptism, for legal challenges, no more baptism for minors, you're gonna need of legal age of consent. Maybe re-baptism for minors already in the Borg when they are 18?
Women, (it's incredible they're wasting half of their members....) at least allow them to become ministerial servants...an easy change, remember Romans 16:1?
And last but not least, pioneers have fulfilled their purpose, if you are spending in good conscience more than, let's say 40 hours preaching you could consider yourself a pioneer....no more bothering about reporting hours...who wants a two tier rank and file? Besides that would represent a good amount in savings...
However, don't give them ideas. ..
i’ve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.
from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a “hailstone message of judgement” which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.
there were hints that this could be very soon, “any day now” preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.
Well, there are two things that you guys are missing, the article says that just very few wicked people isn't gonna be resurrected, like Judas Iscariot and not surprising 'unrepentant apostates' , that leaves the door open for almost everybody.
I find interesting the picture in the article about a woman watching on TV the attack on religion.... clearly they are betting on really massive repentance.
Anyway, there are a lots of , as they say 'we don't know'.

Maybe the hailstorm message was Tony's idea....anyway they could opten for a 'light hailstorm message ' and declare it over....nothing surprise me anymore en the JW land.
(revelation 17:5) “babylon the great, the mother of the prostitutes (plural!
) and of the disgusting things of the earth.”.
btg is spotlighted as being the principal "disgusting thing" which affects christians & christianity, with other lesser "prostitutes" in the background... (revelation 18:4) “get out of her, my people, (christians) if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues.".
Ohhh,...some unbalanced Borg member use to say "if it's not the religion, it's Wall Street and the financial system".
Like somebody said , they could change the 'interpretation' any time, no excuses.
dominic enyart exposes watchtower deception regarding their demonization of the cross.
information packed.
interesting take on paganism as well.
I'll bet this new GB in process gonna go back to the cross (remember the crown and the cross, many years ago?), they have support in the Bible where it says something like "take your cross and follow me constantly".
It's not like they gonna be worshipping the cross or with images of the Egyptian cross ansata...
Remember, mainstream is the motto now
