  i hate to say "i told you so" but all those who were extremely critical of those who questioned the 'evidence' do, i think, need to re-evaluate the faith they put in the powers that be and perhaps owe some people an apology.

  Powell is not a politician. He was appointed. He has served honorably, and I see no cause to believe he lied to us about Iraq...

  Powell has earned a great deal of respect in this country and try as hard as I may, I can't think of one person I know who doesn't like him and trust him and perhaps even wish he were president.

  moscow (ap) a moscow court has banned the religious activities of jehovah's witnesses from the russian capital in a move that critics called a step back for democracy and religious freedom.

  In Thomas Jefferson's "Notes on the State of Virginia", Query xvii, "Religion", he states:

  "The first settlers in this country were emigrants from England, of the English church, just at a point of time when it was flushed with complete victory over the religious of all other persuasions. Possessed, as they became, of the powers of making, administering, and executing the laws, they shewed (sic) equal intolerance in this country with their Presbyterian brethren... The poor Quakers were flying from persecution in England. They cast their eyes on these new countries as asylums of civil and religious freedom; but they found them free only for the reining sect.   WHY?

  Some may see the point but no doubt others will ignore

  it's for the courts to decide, and decide they will, one way or another, eventually.

  Have You Ever Heard This Explanation Why 144,000 is a Literal Number?

  the speaker said tonight (yes i went to the memorial to appease my worried family .

  well he said its very simple....the scripture talks about the lamb and the 144,000. it doesn't say lambs as in more than one....no, it says lamb referring to the "literal number of one lamb".. so thats how we know that the 144,000 is a literal number and not symbolic like all the rest of revelation.. ok....now am i going bonkers...or has anyone else every heard that explanation before?

  i know i never have and that doesn't make any sense to me at all.. had enough

  This is the ONLY way for anything positive to come about with regard to any and all JW issues and

  Someone said in response to this thread in another analogy, "Hate is Hate" no matter how you look at it,

  but I don't think this poster realized what he/she was actually saying because if he/she did then he/she would also realize this is applies to us all and not only JWs.

  Think about it.

  Every time AF responds to anyone who is trying to be reasonable and or without bias it is with a undertone of "hate" and a closed mind brought on by his personal views and his personal opinion. Wouldn't it be better to communicate with people with out that getting in the way?

  From my own experience I can say more people will listen closer to a reasonable remark before a remark that sounds off the wall and shot from the mouth of an extremist.

  i was just wondering, since there was never any real mention of the use of scribes during moses day and they were basically put to use after moses posted all those laws, who was writing all this stuff down every time the pharaoh said "so let it be written, so let it be done.

  i don't recall seeing one scribe in that movie!

  I had always concluded that the number was based on 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel, and was therefore a very symbolic number.

  Same here. I never heard that other explination before. Was the speaker a youngin'?

  I am saying that just because you do not like him or just because he has done some dumb things, in no way shape or form does that make him a monster dictator as you imply or as you have said. That is extreme and unfair on your part. That is what I am saying.

  I will add that it is because of your remarks and those extreme remarks of others of others I find myself doing something I never thought I would do, defend Bush.
