I never heard the "pot-luck" one since our cong used to have many many many potluck get-togethers. I can see how that would be the case though these days due to the word luck.

"Have a blessesd day" is something said quite a lot around these parts but you would never hear it from a jw.

i regulary look at my digital alarm clock and it says "19:14" and i think "hmm, used to be the end of the 'gentile times'" than i take a look at my number of posts and i have already passed 1914, 1918, 1925. when i look at car plates i get reminded of year numbers having been hammered into my brain.

well, this is not really serious, but i get always reminded of my jw past.

i have to add that chronology was something important to me and carl olof jonsson's book "the gentile times reconsidered" was an important one for me.

When my boyfriend transferred the title of his grandmother’s car into his name, the miles read 144,000. We laughed out loud…This car rules and will live forever! Unfortunately it has no reverse. Lol!

at least i found it so.. i would welcome the opinion of all on the board to this sentiment on page 19, paragraph 8 and9:.

'although subjection can be challenging, women can welcome it as honorable, even as did jesus.

While his subjection to God involved suffering, including death on a torture stake, he found joy in being submissive to God.

So whats the point here?

1- "jehovah does not want us to be rich".

other religions teach that god helps us to become prosperous.

jehovah does not do that.

Mouthy I remember those 8 day assemblies as a child. The food was awful but we loved it. lol! ironic.

I was promised 2007 will be a much much better year and BOY do I need one. 2006 sucked big time!

2007 will arrive here in the eastern parts of the US in 14 mins so HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!!!

I hope your 2007 will be as great as mine will be. thinking positive.
