Joe Namath did not win the Superbowl in 607BCE, and I can prove it.
by james_woods inperhaps some will be completely bewildered by this title.
perhaps many will say - are you crazy, james?
what does it matter?.

I hate to rain on the football parade but… the real King of the North HAS to be ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
Think about it, it makes perfect sense!Terminator 2: Judgment Day now governor of the Bear.
It’s only a matter of time till he takes over the world. I think Russell would be proud of me for figuring that out. -

Are JW's cold people?
by JH in.
in all the years i attended meetings, i don't recall seeing anyone kiss anyone there....... all i saw were handshakes.. not even any hugs.. i thought of this a few days ago, when my cousin came over to visit my old parents, and when he left, he gave a warm handshake and slight hug to my dad and hugged and kissed my mom on each cheek.. you don't see this at the kh.

We did hug a lot but...I don't know why.
It wasn't that way at all the KH's I attended but one KH in particular was a huggin' bunch of people. If I saw someone at the meeting that I hadn't seen for sometime I would always give them a great big hug.
Unless it was someone I didn't like.

National Healthcare for the USA
by sammielee24 injust an fyi for anyone interested - there is a major drive on to push the bill forward for national healthcare in the usa.
you can sign the petition by going to http://www.onecarenow.org/.. it has gone through one part of the process last year and now the push is on to get it moved to the next level - it is backed by over 400 groups including the uaw i believe.
it is no longer if it happens, it is only a matter of time as to when it happens.

With my HMO, I need to schedule an accident ahead of time in order to see a local doctor.

Joe Namath is a better prophet than Frederick W. Franz
And he probably looked better in pantyhose.

Rejecting God or rejecting religion?
by kojo ini have read many posts on here and on other websites from people who were brought up or became immersed in a particular religion or belief system, who later ,often because of bad experiences with their religion, went to the opposite extreme of not believing in god at all.
this often puzzles me because i wonder if people who reject a belief in god because of the hypocrisies they experienced in their former belief really are rejecting god or just a man-made organization which claims to be god's spokesman and has shown to be anything but.. i was raised in a presbyterian church which is about as traditional and conservative as you can get and my image of god was molded by that belief.
i saw the services and people there as dead basically.

I actually became very disgusted with the society and their idea of god. I really began to feel insulted by it in many ways but never stopped believing in God. Confused often but not enough to become atheist yet.

NHC in this country is a scary thing because there is so much suspicion toward anything to do with government control and for good reason but there does need to be something better then what we have now. My HMO sucks. An appointment for urgent-care takes at least 1 month and if I can manage to get to my assigned doctor or the hospital, 100 miles away, I am treated well. If I can't travel the 100 miles then I'm pretty much f#%^ed. I cannot afford a PPO at this time, which would be an improvement.

I never followed that rule. I know what is offensive to me and didn't need someone else to tell me. That's how I felt about it.
We went to see "Talladega" last night. It was a bit on the crude side but hilarious! It could have been offensive if not for the delivery. I think that's what makes the difference. I refuse to believe the apostles never lost their composure or Jesus was never sarcastic when dealing with idiots. I bet many of their experiences and behaviors/reactions to some situations would have been rated R if video taped. They weren’t androids for gods’ sake!
