  the results will appear online in the journal nature on 17 october 2012.. alpha centauri is one of the brightest stars in the southern skies and is the nearest stellar system to our solar system only 4.3 light-years away.

  this thread was started in order to answer a question raised elsewhere about russell being the faithful and wise servant (aka fds).. .

  the reason russell was originally considered the fds was that he taught 1874 as being the start of the parousia, with 1878 as the time that jesus began to reign proper.

  Flawed reasoning. Jesus would find him providing spiritual food. The FDS existed before Jesus arrived. Would you expect Jesus to characterize as FDS someone who didn't provide spiritual food the previous day but only the day he (supposedly) arrived? Thinking of the slave as a group, then Russell was part of that group.

  And even the Greek form Ièsous modifies the name to adapt it to Greek phonology and spelling. So "I" is used because Greek lacks a letter corresponding to Hebrew yod. Similarly, there is no sound in Greek for /š/, represented by Hebrew shin, so the closest thing /s/ is used. And nothing in Greek corresponds to an `ayin, so that letter is dropped entirely. Then, in order for the name to behave grammatically in Greek, a final inflection is added to the name (the final /s/ when it occurs in the nominative).

  Technically correct but practically irrelevant as the gospels were written in Greek and Jesus spoke in Greek. Interenstingly the Greek equivalent to YHWH is Iaon (God of the rain) from which stems the western Jehovah.

  i've been giving some thought recently to what's going on in the minds of the individual governing body members, and what makes them tick.

  the process of listening to their talks for my "getting to know you" youtube video series, though draining, has been very enlightening.

  i now feel i know some of their individual personalities a little better than i did previously.. then there has been the tumultuous events of 2012. it's been interesting to note the way the governing body has responded to some of these issues, and how in most cases their responses have been woefully inadequate or even counter-productive as regards their long-term interests.. for example:.

  one is easily thrown off track, if while reading revelation 13:18, he/she begins by believing that this following scripture is talking about every man alive ever since the creation of adam; for such is not the case at all; but is talking about only one single individual.

  this man in question, is obviously a marked man according to revelation 13:17!.

  today i added a new article to my series addressing iv administration of blood product to feed patients.

  as we all know, the watchtower organization ground its axe against blood transfusion with claims that its another means of eating blood.

  i've never written on this site.

  i've been inactive for about 6 years and glad i'm out.. i'm in my late 40's.

  so about 2 years ago, i go on facebook and looked up this brother i use to like when i was in my 20's he was a bethelite.
