Resuming door to door September 1st

gb worried about not enough coming to in person meetings.

what are they going to be like when they realise not only jdubs don’t want to go to in person meetings but they really don’t want to go back on the min.

zoom has so much more appeal for rather than meetings or door to door.

1. will there be some maps assigned for letter writing and some for door to door?

2. What will happen to those who for medical reasons say they will only stay on zoom for meetings and ministry?

3. With hybrid ministry and meetings there is no obligation to do anything difficult like we used to, what can the GB do if majority decide to claim medical reasons why they don’t want to go back to D2D?

4. When the hour requirements come back pioneering has never been so easy if all they have to do is sit on zoom for a few hours a day.

5. Will be allowed to hand post letters?

Investment departments in Bethel

i was a bethelite in london for many years then got reassigned to the field and then went on brd from the start of chelmsford right upto covid.. during my years at the branch i was sometimes asked to be on a team who went to homes donated to the branch when some older one died.. this happenes an awful lot, everything is left to the branch in the will.

the unbelieving family is furious they didn’t get left anything and sometimes they tried to get their elderly relatives possessions and there was a legal battle .

but in the end a team of us would go and empty the property and another team would clean it up and put it on the market to sell it for the worldwide work.. all the possessions were sorted into trash or possibly valuable .

it’s a shame the gov body did a big u turn on vaccines .

if they continue with the rule that only fully vaxed can go back to the hall then i could have stayed on zoom.

but the term fully vaxed is a moving target, if it’s been like six months since your last shot you are just the same as those of us who are unvaxed .

i was in bethel for years early 2000s and was heavily involved with brd from start to finish .

im current elder in one of the congregations in london.

what i’ve noticed is huge changes since covid .

No I wasn't in Bethel. I think it was mentioned here many years ago and I thought it was interesting because such a thing is quite rare. Not many people leave because of doctrinal reasons and its even more rare that more than one individual leaves. I suppose the leading brothers at Bethel were terrified that many would join them? Do you know what happened to them afterwards? Did they join some other religion? I remember they even had their own blog online about some biblical topics.

yes I remember what happened in Breton Court one the accommodation blocks in Finchley. It started out as a study group, we were all invited but I guess I wasn’t super spiritual I would rather be playing football or in the gym.

then I hear people asking everyone did you get involved in that study group at all? I didn’t but some in my department did. Then we all hear about the scandal that this study group came out and said the GB were wrong about many things and they had the true meaning of the scriptures.

it was a massive scandal

as far as I know the main players all got dissfellowshiped

they were many who were part involved or went along once or twice to their study meetings who were closely watched this brother Dale Warren was one of them. He told me about serious this was and had to go and have regular shepherding calls with top brass

There is no doubt now that the most vaxed nations have the most problems

m there are some populations who said no to big pharma we will not buy your expensive spike protein injections and they have had a much better time in the health front

the entire point of this thread is how serious a problem the GB has now that they got so involved with personal medical decisions. They fiercely pushed these vaccines on 8 million followers acting like salesmen for big pharma

now the facts are coming out that these shots were not safe or effective but in fact the opposite

3 years in the making

thursday while i was at work, a new elder stopped by the house (almost 3 years after fading) to encourage us to go back to meetings.

said everyone misses us.

if you did, why not stop by and say hi every now and then?

To fade properly you need to be not known as a JW at all

if you allow them back into your life you will postpone it

on the other hand if you say anything like you are not known as a jw they may announce you as no king a jw which would be a fade interruption

you need a good few years of no contact whatsoever

if you have had contact it resets the clock as it were

unless your not bothered by shunning then just go ahead and let them announce your no longer a jw

my advice is always avoid any contact with elders for a few more years then you will succeed in fading and even if it was found out you did something like a disfellowshipping offence then you still wouldn’t be shunned

Interestingly I had a conversation the other day. With an elderly sister was going to see a lawyer about writing her disfellowshipped daughter out of her will. Ironically the person she was telling it to, is an apostate, who is worse than her daughter, so to speak. Certainly a loving organisation. Lol

a lot of my ex fellow servants must be now in their seventies, what can you do?.

no children no money no home.

it is so sad.. so many decided not to have children as the end was right around the corner and that was decades ago.

absolutely--the safety net of Uk social security. Makes no difference if the claimant has never worked a day in their lives...which is a fact in many parts of the UK.

here I the UK many brothers and sisters claim they are not well, they get sick pay called personal independent payments so don’t ever have to work. Everyone can get it you didn’t have to pay anything into the system. This is why so many want to come to the UK and claim asylum

This is why these young guys can go so long as upstanding dubs with no history of immorality/fornication/getting in trouble with girls etc There's virtually no way a presentable, intelligent, straight guy can make it to his 30s within the JWs without a whiff of pre marital fumbling around for goodness sakes!!

OK you can get the occasional super spiritual dude who trully loves God who in any other religion would have become a priest or a monk/brother in a monastery etc....but it's rare nowadays in the witnesses, especially as it's getting harder and harder to take the religion seriously.
