  it’s not healthy for young brothers to stay celibate and not allowed to wank or anything I wonder what the percentage of single brothers in Borg are really ‘morally clean’ - Seriously how many young brothers stay a virgin and never masterbate? I remember one young Bethelite brother who admitted to an elder that he masterbates and he was kicked out of Bethel the same day. Then we had a Bethel lecture after the Monday night family WT study all about masterbating. The brother had to answer the question what is masterbation? He read a very clinical definition adding his own bits here and there and even included bits that would later be included in pillowgate. I remember everyone talking to other Bethelites about it and we all concluded that most young men do and it’s probably very small percentage who do practice self love in this way. I would go so far to say it’s also probably a small percentage of young men who have never ever had some kind of sexual experience with someone else either male or female looking at this picture of Brother King and considering all the years of performance in night clubs and gay bars, would anyone really expect him to have never ever?   Stan, there are people lining up to volunteer to do security and maintenance on the old WT house. They work hard in the vast gardens and so much work for free even though everyone knows it’s now a Jewish building and the Jews are paying WTower for all this work.

  The top brass must be laughing their arses off raking in all these millions from stupid volunteers

  it’s a shame the gov body did a big u turn on vaccines .

  if they continue with the rule that only fully vaxed can go back to the hall then i could have stayed on zoom.

  but the term fully vaxed is a moving target, if it’s been like six months since your last shot you are just the same as those of us who are unvaxed .

  Investment departments in Bethel

  i was a bethelite in london for many years then got reassigned to the field and then went on brd from the start of chelmsford right upto covid.. during my years at the branch i was sometimes asked to be on a team who went to homes donated to the branch when some older one died.. this happenes an awful lot, everything is left to the branch in the will.

  the unbelieving family is furious they didn’t get left anything and sometimes they tried to get their elderly relatives possessions and there was a legal battle .

  but in the end a team of us would go and empty the property and another team would clean it up and put it on the market to sell it for the worldwide work.. all the possessions were sorted into trash or possibly valuable .

  im current elder in one of the congregations in london.

  what i’ve noticed is huge changes since covid .

  I wonder what will happen when door to door witnessing resumes?

  I've heard on the grapevine that locally many new publishers were created during the Covid pandemic, both reactivated baptised publishers and a large number of unbaptised publishers.

  I'm sure for them it was dead easy to sit on their comfortable sofa and write letters copied off a template and send them anonymously to strangers in the mail.

  But it's a different ballgame entirely if they are expected to get dressed and go out knocking doors and be seen in public identifying themselves as JWs.
  

  Who wants to bet that lots of those people will start to drift off into obscurity rather than go house to house?

  lost in the fog this is a very good point.

  it has been very easy and comfortable being physically in the last few years. You get all the nice aspects of being in, the good association and invites to bbqs etc. Not much in the way of difficulty until we had to go back to the hall. But many stayed on zoom most of the time.

  the letter writing thing fizzled out really long ago. Most just come on zoom for a good chat and catch up. Nobody writes many letters anymore.

  When we are expected to go back to door to door it will be make or break

  if it’s still going to be hybrid groups so that older ones can still write letters then once that can of worms has been opened it’s too late

  I can see many folks getting the territory and ending up in coffee shop witnessing

  @mikejw. Were you at Bethel when Ron Drage, Peter Ellis and Bevan Vigo were there ? I remember them from my days in the cult in the West Midlands in the late 60's. Drage was DO--the others were CO.

  What became of them ?

  Stan, they are all in the luxury infirmary in Chelmsford. Looked after by the best volunteers money doesn’t need to buy.

  I have mentioned my reasons for not getting these injections every six months quoting from the tobacco whiteboard animation “I’ve checked out the risks and it’s not for me” plus I’ve prayed about it asking is it really ok to have aborted baby cells injected into my body and my prayers have been answered definitely not.
