I agree Phizzy. But if you are only just JW in name only (JWLITE) then you don’t necessarily say sod it and stop going for the social club aspects. You can still go occasionally if you want or go long times having nothing to do with em. This is the change, it used to be frowned upon but not anymore 😀😀👍

New approach to ministry
by Mikejw inthere is a new approach to ministry where the direction is to just talk to people and listen to what they want to talk about.
the new school for the midweek meeting is completely different and is all about the new approach .
even before the no reporting changes field service dropped right off.

Hailstone message AND everyone will be saved? Questions
by slimboyfat ini’ve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.
from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a “hailstone message of judgement” which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.
there were hints that this could be very soon, “any day now” preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.

I have refuted all your points notsure
The simplest refute is that you keep believing the old light that it would be better if your unrighteous loved ones died before Armageddon.
We agree that pretty much everyone who ever died throughout history will get a chance at the 10000 yr reign unless they were really really bad?
But you still think they have less of a chance at the 1000 year reign if they are alive at Armageddon? This is old light.
We can’t disagree on who will be classed as really really bad because the new light is we don’t know. But they hint at ones in the past who we thought would not get a resurrection now maybe they will. We just don’t know that.
But what they say is clear is that there is no difference between dying before or being alive at Armageddon

This is the new light. It is that Billions will survive Armageddon and only the really, really bad ones will be killed or not get a resurrection. If they died beforehand or not makes zero difference.
All those who died through history will get a chance at the 1000 year reign unless they were really really bad.
All those alive at Armageddon will get a chance at the 1000 year reign unless they were really really bad.
Its so simple. Watch the AGM again, read those study watchtowers again. Who will be classed as really really bad, we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know.

So much has changed. Now no more reporting and hardly any door to door.
At Saturday morning ministry groups it’s just a social event and planning where to meet up later for refreshments.
Some do ‘letter writing’ which code for try to make it sound like I’m doing something when I’m not. Many say informal work in parks or walks by the water. This is just chatting to dog walkers or those others out for a stroll.
The new methods are not necessarily mentioning Bible but just talk to people about what they want to talk about.
I wonder if this new shake up was from the PR company they hired. Along with the new light that Billions will survive Armageddon and only the really bad ones will be killed or not get a resurrection. It’s very clever and have to admit it’s working.
People look forward to Saturday new methods and the get togethers afterwards,

Or to put it another way, if unbelievers are not as likely to survive as those those who have died are likely to be resurrected, then people might as well go back to hoping their relatives die before Armageddon again, because they still have a better chance of making it to the new system that way. But that’s precisely what the GB member says it’s no longer necessary to think.
Hit the nail on the head there Slim.
Notsure does not want to understand the new light for reason stated in my last post.
Notsure and Lloyd Evens cling on to the old light for multiple reasons and think this new light is a nothing burger.
The old light is that unbelieving loved ones would be better off dying before Armageddon than being alive during it. But the new light clearly says they have the same chance regardless.
Only really bad people will not get a resurrection or will be killed at Armageddon. If they died beforehand or not makes no difference this is the new light that these ones don’t like.

the article says that just very few wicked people isn't gonna be resurrected, like Judas Iscariot and not surprising 'unrepentant apostates' , that leaves the door open for almost everybody.
Only the incorrigibly bad won’t get a shot at the 1000 year reign. If you die beforehand or are alive at Armageddon you have the same chance.
it is really simple and very clear new light, I think some xJWs want to cling on to the old light that many will be slaughtered at Armageddon. Maybe this was one of the best topics for waking up JWs which is why the new light was made up?
Now billions may survive Armageddon we just don’t know. But xJWs can’t use the old light anymore

Tonus the new light means if you are or are not JWlite or nothing to do with JWs you still have the same chance of being in paradise as all those unrighteous who died

Notsure if you what you say is still the case then it would be better if unrighteous loved ones died beforehand.
But you are not right because the new light says now you don’t have to wish your unrighteous loved ones die beforehand, if they are alive during Armageddon they will have the same chance as if they died before
yes I keep posting this direct quote from the watchtower
person’s eternal future does not depend on when he happens to die

You are pointing out an obvious contradiction.
If you look at those two new watchtower articles and some others we had in the past about being judged on their sins in the new world and not before Armageddon. Maybe they are saying pretty much everyone will make it into paradise then judged in the new world?
I don’t think they thought this new light through much at all. They are digging themselves in a hole and the more new light the deeper they get.
Maybe they are saying that the Great War of Armageddon will only kill the really bad people, those who would not have gotten a resurrection anyway?
But they would have to have been really really bad as they hint at even those in Sodom and Gomorrah and those pre flood may be resurrected.
So maybe Armageddon will not kill that many people after all according to the new light?
