New ministry, you don’t give a witness
by Mikejw inthere are assignments on the life and ministry school now where they are suggested to just talk to people without giving a witness.. they are supposed to practice starting conversations with strangers and listening to them to talk about whatever they want to talk about .
there is an assignment this week where the conversation ends without giving a witness.
jws don’t look like jws anymore and now they don’t actually preach.. you could get bearded men with sweaters or other such tops and women in pants or slacks coming upto you in the park or on the street and starting a conversation with you.. then you hear them listening to you and talking about whatever they think that you wanted to talk about .

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

simply packing snacks, cash, important papers, photos, and laptops, and then driving 100+ miles away to hang out in a comfy hotel with a restaurant is our idea of a disaster plan
Sounds very similar to JWs disaster preparedness.
they say pack go bags with those things and then travel to nearest congregations that are not affected by the disaster and they will look after you.
The branch office will send trucks with provisions if needed.
then the branch will see what can be done about rehousing those who need it.
there are local disaster relief groups all around the world with lots of willing volunteers.
its much better to be part of a larger community than trying to be a lone wolf. If not JWs then someone else but it really is best to be part of something

you wouldn’t even know they were JWs.
what would be hilarious is if JWs from different congregations actually did this new informal approach on each other in parks or on the streets and they both didn’t know they were JWs😂
so JWs still meet for ministry groups and these days stay for a long time at the place where they meet, it’s almost a case of having a coffee break together before they go out.
then they do about ten mins or so door to door taking no more not at homes because they don’t write anything down anymore, then they go and do informal witnessing and many skip the ten mins door to door.
informal witnessing is not actually witnessing now it’s just talking to people about whatever is in their mind
then back to someone’s home for coffee break and everyone brings homemade food.
it’s now just a social club for lonely people with empty lives. The Bible is a self help book that is an excuse for the social club and there is hope that the Bibles promises of God setting up a kingdom that will wipe out every tear in their eyes, and no more pain or suffering.
this is just an excuse for the social club to have a common interest.
the ministry groups every day are just the social club activities so that you feel you have purpose and feel useful like you are doing something

The 'Go Bags"! oh I can't even tell you how damn ridiculous my jw is about his 'go bag'. He was traveling for a bit a few years back and didn't go anywhere without it . He even wanted to get me one, cause at heart he is a nice guy. However, if you saw my pantry you would stifle a giggle as did I
The go bags are not be ridiculed. You can’t take your garden or your pantry with you. Maybe JWs got this one right, I think everyone should follow JW ideas on go bags and every year go over them all replace old with new food and water.
JWs also say to have a reasonable amount of food and provisions stored up but just bear in mind whatever situation you need your go bags for may mean you have to bug out and No knowing if or when you can return home

safer than being an alcoholic like Lloyd is
Is there any evidence of this? If he does have alcohol abuse tendencies that would make him an even bigger hypocrite after all he said about Tony Morris

Like Baalamsass said
Make sure you have a full tank of gas and if possible a couple of jerry cans full as well that you can take to extend your journey.
water and food for 2 weeks if you have to shelter in place
$2000 in cash if you can’t get to your bank and the power is down
as far as following the directions of the elders, many of them can’t organize their own lives properly so I wouldn’t take their advice.
Follow your local government disaster leaders. They are actually trained in how to keep people safe
This is the question “should you go to one of their camps or shelters?
I guess it depends on the situation.
At the moment all congregations are given directions to meet at the KH as first port of call, second RV point is arranged in event of KH not an option.
Its usually a retail park or something where each group meets with their group overseer and his assistant.
then depending on the situation maybe follow government advice if it’s available like a shelter or something or if not an option the nearest congregations that are available are told to offer shelter and support.
what if it’s such a large area that is affected and huge numbers lost their homes and in need of aid? Then go further afield asking congregations to take in JWs who are in need.
they always push the scripture to work good towards all but especially those related in the faith

Sounds like drug induced date rape, poor wife.
If she was unknowingly plied with drugs and made to do things she didn’t want to do them he should go to prison

ALWAYS having enough gas in the car to travel 100 + miles away from the danger zone. Local power and cell towers are frequently gone. No power for ATMs, gas pumps, water pumps, TVs, cash registers, grocery stores, internet, etc. A few hundred dollars CASH in small bills can really help. There will be few places to stay nearby if thousands of people are displaced. I was surprised at how quickly the criminal element gathered their friends and weapons and started patrolling closed areas looking for easy targets to loot. Distance is your friend.
There was an interesting line in the new movie Civil war. “$300 that will buy you a sandwich, we have ham or cheese”
she really wanted fuel.
The JW idea is that those with the ability to house other JWs who need it will willingly let them in. It all sound rosey but extremely problematic.
Here in the UK many JW Ukraine and other refugees were housed by JWs who didn’t think it through. They probably thought it was going to be for a short time, but now they want them out and they regret letting them in to start with. The poor refugees struggling to learn English and didn’t want to leave home.
The government don’t prioritise those who are not homeless and the JWs are not going to kick them out on the streets, but that’s the only was the government will help them so it’s a catch 22.
The elders don’t know what to do they keep asking the branch but only get directions to lovingly take care of the refugees.
I don’t know what the answer is but it’s all very well saying those JWs with the ability to house JWs who need it just let them in. But for how long and who is going to pay for everything?

New light: the GB are infallible
by AEnEm inamazing new light in the latest morning worship by gary breaux.
the gb "never lie or deceive us.
we can have absolute trust in the governing body".. he then makes a very helpful point, so as to avoid being deceived and avoid lies.

The GB were not neutral when it came to covid vaccines. They very strongly pushed them even saying Elders could not attend elders school unless fully vaccinated. This applied to all schools or projects. Even volunteers for car park security needed to be fully vaccinated which some think means no longer than six months since last booster shots.
Elders were warned about expressing doubts about the safety of these vaccines. If they ever said I’m not convinced these are safe then they were warned to stop expressing doubts and if they didn’t then the CO was brought in,
So it comes down to this Gary Breaux claims The GB "never lie or deceive us. We can have absolute trust in the Governing Body".
can we have absolute trust that these cv19 vaccines are safe and effective? Or did the GB get it wrong and perhaps they are not so expert on experimental pharmaceutical treatments as they claimed

Enoughisenough do you ever think maybe you watch too many conspiracy videos? I hope you know it’s all nonsense.
There is no great conspiracy to get people to go to concentration camps with guillotines, oh and you do know zombie’s are not real don’t you?
What is real is that unexpected disaster could strike at any place at any time.
To be part of a community that looks after each other is far better than being a lone wolf.
If not the cong of JWs then perhaps another church or organisation. But actually the JWs are one of the best at taking care of each other.
They are nearly always the first in with aid and the last out after rebuilding work.
Im PIMA so only staying in for the social club aspects and the disaster preparation aspect. I’m agnostic if God exists but I love having hope in the Bibles promises.
I know I will be taken good care of if Im in a terrible situation and I will also help others in my cong if they are in need. This is what Jesus taught.
